NFC is going to be pushed heavily and will be supported by all the big players...that's not a small deal. In a couple years we won't be swiping debit cards, just placing our phones up to some reader.

And it will have LTE...that's a big deal if you have coverage.

But, and I'm sorry I keep harping on it, the phone will not be a modern sized smartphone! Apple could make one, but they're not for some reason....my guess is they want a big difference between iPad mini and the iPhone. The latest flagship phones from competitors are still well below the size of paperback book, but they're in the same league. If I can read a book comfortably on my phone (as you can with the new large phones) the tablet might not be necessary.

All those things are cool and I get it about the screen I do. For me though I'm willing to give this phone a chance to see if I get use to it. I think this next phone coming up will have something no other phone offers something like haptic touch technology. I really believe that will be in the next phone. From what I've read and seen videos of it will be a game changer. I think that they will reveal why they chose the dimensions for the phone there will be a reason connected to haptic touch. My prediction.

Welcome friend :apple:, I promise you, you wont be disappointed.

Christ, do you have to make it sound so much like a cult? "Welcome friend, this faith will make you whole. Here is the symbol of our lord, cherish it and you shall not be dissapointed (even though I have no idea what your needs or expectations are).".

Don't mean to be overly crass or single you out, but this kind of thing is a little insane.

Proof and nothing but the facts!
Top Satisfied Cell Phone/Smartphone Companies (2012)

83 – Apple (iPhone).
75 – Nokia, LG and HTC.
73 -Motorola.
71 – Samsung.
69 – BlackBerry/RIM.

Need I say more, I continue to back my statement!

iPhone is the best, there are no other top line smart phones. There are a lot of other good phones but none are the best.

Again, iPhone is the best and superior than all the competitions.

So, based on your two statements above, you must stay with iPhone, no buts about it.

The only reason why your swaying to cheaper commodity phone is because of all that bells and whistles, which is nothing but a way to confuse the consumer and only works with ignorant buyers. Apple's iPhone is designed perfectly to be fully functional for everyone's day to day business.

----------

Apple takes care of me, my wants, and my future :apple:, others just want to empty your pocket for every penny you got by selling you trash!

Please tell me this is meant as satire

That's a horrible car - impractical, unreliable, expensive to buy, and incredibly expensive to maintain.

Not sure how that helps your point...?

Plus, Apple may have produced a nice "vehicle", however a great car means nothing when the operator is practically drunk. :p

(sigh, miss the days of 10.6 and before)

and hey, my join date is 2009, what is this 2012 mod's? lol

This phone was the main project Jobs was working on and spending his final days with Apple on so he must of approved.

Did you even know what you were responding to? Apparently not, lol.

Nothing to do with Jobs "approving" anything. It was about "doubling down on security."

Whatever the design or screen size they are never going to please everyone with one universal iPhone. That's why I think they should follow the same strategy as they do with the MBA/MBP and have 2 iPhones. One small and light with a 3.5" screen and one with a better spec and bigger 4.5" screen. The iPhone Air and the iPhone Pro. Something for everyone.

I don't buy the "it would make it difficult for developers" argument - most of them are already developing for Android as well which has a multitude of screen sizes and they seem to cope with it ok.

Okay, lets say this super vehicle is made by Apple as in iCar

Look at what all these leaks have done to their stock price - it's at an all time high ! Well played Apple, well played .

There is no such thing as "the best smartphone". It's a subjective thing. Let's not get arrogant or complacent and start slagging off the competition. That just turns people away from Apple. As long as it looks great, works great and is an all-round cracking product I would be happy.

"Oh hail Steve. Bringer of the Light. Hail Steve". :apple:

This is just depressing.

Maybe Apple is leaking everything to manage expectations. So its not as much of a shocker to see this tall stupid phone on launch day.

Maybe they should have done some opinion polling on this product after all.

I can't wait for the iphone 6.

Imagine if Nokia came out with a beautiful android phone. I'd certainly consider buying it. I wonder if Samsung is working on the teardrop shape for their next galazy. Its only a matter of time before they get a clue about design.

It's another purported jigsaw piece - one of so many that keep being headlined here.

I question the editorial values of this website. It's so iPhone-heavy and rumour-lite. Bits of internal hardware ad nauseum? For a phone that's all about its software and externals?

Good rumours are relish worthy and pique the interest. Macrumours is becoming tedious. I don't remember a time where 'leaks' of arbitrary G4 or G5 circuit board pieces (real or imagined) were ever 'exposed' on this scale.

I think there needs to be a sub-front page holding pen for this sort of uninteresting froth or at least a cookie I can chose that says 'NO TIRESOME CRAP - JUST DECENT RUMOURS PLEASE'.

I know this guff might be popular reading amongst the iOS-using illiterati, but spare a thought for people who still use computers

This is the most drastic generational change since it launched. I don't know what else you guys are expecting, and neither do you. Everyone fails to come up with an answer as to what would constitute a drastic change except a huge screen. Well, that's a user preference thing. Not everyone is going to be receptive to a 4.7" screen coming from a 3.5" screen so get over that idea.

Exactly. the Androids is just stretching the screen without any major design changes. Personally, I prefer they stick to the iphone 4/5rumor design.
