Do you seriously believe that (a) no additional information displayed will really help people and that (b) all touch targets being 15 or 40% larger is a great solution?
Yes, because your solution only helps people with poor eyesight, for the rest it would merely mean a bulkier device for zero benefit. Almost anything is better than something with zero benefits and noticeable downsides. So one line of extra icons and we now have black bars on apps is better??
But the coming size comes at almost no downsides to you: 8 mm higher, black bars in some apps for some time.If I wanted a bigger phone with more screen real-estate, I would not just want it taller. I would want it wider also, especially for web pages. But, I'm happy with the size now.
This is wrong. The jump from 3.5" to 4" diagonal is done by increasing height only, i.e. changing the aspect ratio. The landscape screen will be MORE than 0.5" wider.
An elongated iPhone? No way they will ever compromise the 4:3 proportions. I bet the new iPhone has minimal redesign in the case(eliminate the glass back) and much improved internals(A6, NFC chip).
Whew. Thank god you caught this.
Yes, ur welcome. I try to help people understand logic. Is hard sometimes.
If I was to be offered job of Tim Cook, even tho I can improve his work greatly, not sure I would take the job. I would rather design and think instead of be just a guy on conference call talking politics. So I would likely refuse position even if they beg.

I have to believe that this person is an incredible troll with sentiments like these and the name "chaosconan". The only thing the gives me hesitation is his join date and how dedicated this fool seems to be.

Steve would have never allowed this, and after Tim saying he was doubling down on security, i seriously don't think this will be the new iPhone at all, we will all be amazed on Sep 12th.
All these leaks are either a big red herring or Apple new security measures royally suck.

Apple is like the wife and Android is the young secretary at work and a lot of people are having trouble saying No.
Yeah, no downsides... When the Apps are updated and You stop using it in landscape mode with the keyboard - good times ahead.
No need for a space shuttle nor for a new design. Just give us a few things Andoid phones enjoy:I swear, some people in this thread are ridiculous. If a company like Mercedes released a new car, these people would be bitching that it still had round wheels and they didn't "change the form factor".
Do you expect the iPhone 5 to have a built-in space shuttle?
This is wrong. The jump from 3.5" to 4" diagonal is done by increasing height only, i.e. changing the aspect ratio. The landscape screen will be MORE than 0.5" wider.
That's right. You are seduced by the interesting and new look. So you are drawn away from the trusty, reliable and just plain performs phone. Like the secretary it's all fun and exciting for the short term then you get caught! Your caught red handed with your pants down and man what you thought was the best thing turns out to burn you. You've lost the best thing you've known, your trusty old friend. Remember looks may not be everything, simple is great!
So just like your phone your wife to may need or wish to be upgraded from time to time, splurge and pay a little for the upgraded version of your trusty friend. May be the best thing you've done in two years. #
Avoid at all costs the secretary it will burn you every time and can get expensive at that.

I believe people have noticed some time ago, that iOS is nothing to write home about, is not going anywhere, and that the UI of the Apple phone is not that great, and certainly nothing new .
It also happens to be the worst thing for making calls , which is a bit annoying, in a phone .
No, I didn't say that the only overall change in it is that it's taller, lol, I told her that with the design, the screen is only taller but not wider

- Super AMOLED display
Hrrrmmmm. How do you increase a diagonal measurement without increasing the screen in 2 dimensions?
I think you mean the overall width of the phone has not changed...
