What do the different BB Inventory Listings Mean?

I have seen "Unavailable" which obviously means none in stock. But the other two I have seen are "In Store Only" and "Available." What is the difference between the two?

Major thanks and kudos to the OP. I was able to pick up a 16GB black iPad 2 at the Springfield, VA Best Buy yesterday. They had precisely one white and one black 16GB model in stock when I arrived.

Saved me a month waiting for the online order! Huzzah!

Don't rely on Walmart. One of my local Walmarts showed a White 64GB ATT model in their store. Got there and the MoeRon told me that there has been a recall, then he kind of changed the subject quick and said they haven't had any since the first day. He wouldn't even look into the number that the Walmart website gave me, or take a look in the back.

After standing in line for 4 hours on the first day, Im hesitant to go back to any Apple store, but I think Im going to have to try again one of these mornings.

If anyone sees/hears of a 64 White ATT version near the central MA, southern NH, Boston area please give me a shout.

I would imagine that "In Store Only" means you can't reserve one online, while "Available" means you could theoretically order one at bestbuy.com to pick up at the store later.

Still curious about "In Store Only". A lot of Best Busy in my area are starting to flip to that, but claim they don't have stock.

I got it!

Thanks to everyone for posting the links. I had been checking regularly but my friend at work noticed the Target near work had some stock. We went immediately and I got the last White 16GB AT&T 3G. Again thanks to everyone for the help. I will be cancelling my order from Apple. Bought at Target in Chantilly, VA at 1:30pm. NO lines.

Ha. I'm pretty near that Target. I'd thought about checking it out yesterday if Best Buy came up naughts.

Took a stab at a nearby Walmart when I saw that my preferred model showed 'available' using the javascript method from this thread. The sales clerk was helpful. She and another employee went to 'the back' for about 10 mins and came back with nothing. She took my name & # and said she'd call or leave a note for the night crew.

I'm sure some Walmart employees are less than helpful. But this one made an effort for me.

Maybe, just maybe, it's because I was nice to her.

Target in Apex, NC had some today. By the time I got there, they had 1 Verizon 16GB black left, but I didn't buy it as I need an AT&T. The BB in Garner, NC had 6 32GB black AT&T models, but they said they were reserve and will hold them for 2 weeks for pickup. I couldn't believe they hold them that long!

Just grabbed a 16 gig black WiFi at the Burbank, CA Target, exactly what I wanted.

I started off the day clicking on the links and saw "In-Store Only" availability at two local Best Buys. I pop by on a whim and it seems that means they are held on reserve for people who ordered online. Oh well.

Get home, decide to click on the links again, and Target is showing availability that they didn't hours before. I call, they have 5 in stock, I stop in, buy one.

I guess waiting in line at the Grove isn't necessary.

Thanks to this thread I got my 16gb black wifi from a local Best Buy (North store in Austin, TX) about 30 minutes ago. They had quite a few left after clearing their waiting list.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)

Just scored a 32gb white AT&T at BB in McAllen Texas. Website showed "in store only." They had it and others.

I went back to the Best Buy where I got my iPad 2 off the shelf to pick up the new Green Day dvd and I went to go see if they had any in and they had about 8-10 in. Not sure which models they were. But I'd say that they are less inconspicuous at a Best Buy than a Target because at mine they have them intermixed in a cage with about thirty other first gen models and they are all laying face down so you cant tell the difference unless you read the fine print on the back. Just a heads up to everyone still looking, its looking like Best Buys are beginning to look promising.

grenada hills target

i registered just to thank all the people that got out this info, picked up exactly what i wanted, 64 white ATT at the grenada hills CA target at about 11:40, with people asking for them right behind me. woo!

which best buy ? location?

Thanks to the OP and other developers of this thread. ;) I happen to click the Target inventory link and saw there was an iP2 two miles from me. I ran over and picked up a 16gb black wifi only model in Target in Christiana, DE. Got there around 15:30. No one else in site. Attendant said only one was delivered today. Got a shipment yesterday and sold out in an hour.:apple:

Used this inventory post to find myself a BUNCH of ATT ipad 2's in a Best Buy near me. Sucks because I live in Memphis Tn where we have like 4-5 Best Buys but these were in Jackson, Tn, which is about 80 miles away, but they have about 15-20 or so of each 32GB and 64GB in black and white. I picked up a 64 Black. Nice thing about thi location is that there is no locker, these are stashed underneath a counter so no one can see them in plain site......

Anyone from Memphis want one I would head out that way! Thanks OP!

Theres a couple of bestbuys in NY with stock showing up but when you call they are stating they do not have any.

How accurate is Wal-Mart's inventory? I really don't want to make a long drive and come up empty handed.

16GB Black wifi at Target Cupertino, CA

Just checked inventory at noon and saw that 16GB Black wifi was available at Target in Cupertino - first I've since in the Bay Area. Drove over and checked with Electronics and they confirmed they were in stock, just didn't know where. He tracked them down at security and brought back 5 16 GB black wifi. I bought mine and am a happy camoper. Thanks!

Man, I wish I could get out of work to see if I can get my hands on one. Too bad I can't get you to buy one for me and pay you back. It's the one I've been looking for.

Went to the BB in Palo Alto for lunch today after seeing the 32G white and black ATT 3G models shown as "in store" on BB's website. A BB employee told me they had them but they were being held for people who had reservations on them. According to him, the waiting list (for all models) was still 80+ at his store and he would have to clear those before he could sell them on the floor. His best estimate for when I could just walk in to the store and buy one was 3 weeks.
