They're here you just have to get up early. Apple Store in Emeryville has been getting pretty regular shipments. I'm just not willing to get up at 5am to wait in line.
I got mine at bestbuy yesterday.
Writing this to thank you.
I was looking for a 16g Wt wifi only (or w/3G att was ok). The tracker say it was available at Bestbuy near my work (falls church, va), went there right away (after 4 pm), only one 32g wifi wt and another with 3G wt were available, walked out with 32g wifi..I was told the shippment came in yeaterday and they expect another coming in 2wks or so.
Thought about if I should hold on to this one and see how my other orders with J&R and apple will progress (because i ended up paying over $100 extra) but I decided to keep it and enjoy it. I cancelled all the other orders. and I am happy now. I like the white more than I expected.

So far I tried:
-Placed an order with apple on 3/20 at midnight. supposed to ship 4/25, delivery 4/28.(6weeks!!!!!!) (but I m flying out of country on 4/28 LOL) No sign of speeding up. Made visits to local stores no luck, Read threads here about B&H , J&R...
-placed two orders with J&R yesterday after 12 pm for a 16g wt & a 32 wt, wifi only(thinking to keep whichever comes first). I was told that my numbers are #526 for 16g and #154 for 32g in line...(if it helps anybody here)
My tan leather cover order was already processed with apple and it's still in HK LOL, scheduled to be here on 29th (I thought I would get the cover first and hold on to it like forever prob hanging on the refrigiater!!)

Has anyone had luck ordering over the phone with a credit card through best buy if they have them in stock?
I was just told by a store that they "changed their policy" today and will only hold for 30 minutes. I'm not sure if they misunderstood that I was willing to pay right now or not...?

Yeah, I'm not in love with Apple enough to show up at 5am but the more and more I fail at getting one of these, the idea of getting up early doesn't sound as painful. If the weather wasn't so crappy right now I would of gone this morning.
I do have hope though because of the international release and the fact that its been nearly two weeks. So either my J&R order ships or I actually stumble upon one at Target.

Called back. Didn't misunderstand me. For whatever reason it's their managers policy now. They can hold for 30 minutes but that's all. Can't get there until 9ish and they only have 3 16GB verizon.

I've tried 3 times so far to pay over the phone so they would hold an iPad for me at Best Buy and they've all told me they can't do it and the system won't allow them to. I'm not driving an hour there without a guarantee they'll have one so I guess I'll wait until I happen to luck into one.

You are lucky that they are holding for you at all
No place near me is even remotely holding anything for anyone. Me and friends have tried to pay over the phone at probably total of 10 places and none would do it
But, I am not mad as I understand why they won't. Don't agree with it but understand

Every time I check inventory in Frisco everything shows Out of Stock, which ZIP are you searching? I am using 75035.
EDIT: I guess I should add that I am only looking for ATT models. Which model did you get?

mo0620 and Virtute, thank you so much. Thanks to the Target tracker, I was able to pick one up (16GB black WiFi) at the Valley Stream, NY store earlier today. I was able to get there around a quarter to 1 PM local time so there were no crowds or anything. As of right now, that model is limited availability, the 64 GB counterpart is "Available," and 64 GB white WiFi is also "Available." Not going to dive into any of the 3G listings for now.

The only model showing as available earlier today from around noon to 2pm at the Frisco Target store is the 16GB white WiFi only model.
Woohoo! The Ridgmar, Texas Best Buy, in the DFW area, showed "In Store Only" today. I called all the Best Buy stores, in the area, showing this. I received the following responses:
Denton Store: would never pick up. I tried calling for 25 minutes.
Lewisville: No Best Buy stores have iPad 2's in stock--they are all for preorders.
Plano: Only for preorders
Dallas: Our online inventory system is not correct as nobody has any iPad 2's available.
Ridgmar: We have 3 64 GB White Wifi's left on a first come, first serve basis.
I was able, however, to get a hold for a couple of hours so I could get down there and then promptly returned my 32 GB White Wifi to the Fort Worth Apple Store.

Sorry guys that was my first post, but anyways the Best Buy at Alamo Ranch off 1604 and Culebra has some 16gb and 32gb iPad2 wifi and 3G Verizon.

Ordered my IPAD2 via apple mail order on launch day and received on the 18th. We got lucky and ended up getting 3 more today for my wife,son and father. Thank you OP for posting the inventory checker! Got 1 from Bestbuy and 2 from Walmart. We are from the Seattle/Tacoma, WA. area and couldn't find any in stock anywhere until today. Walmart had 8 more in stock of various sizes. Again, Thanks!!

Best Buys inventory tracker is crap shoot.
I found in New York, all the best buys are essentially not up dating their inventory or either the people answering the phone don't care or don't know the true situation.
the Target inventory is much more up to date. Man i drove all the way to a Jersey store after calling and confirming stock but got there 2 mins too late and watched my ipad being sold out...

I found in New York, all the best buys are essentially not up dating their inventory or either the people answering the phone don't care or don't know the true situation.

Really? They appear to have some in stock at locations near me. I'm wondering whether I should go for the 32 or 64. I have a 64 on hold at B&H, but who knows when that's coming in.
