fwiw, I had some time on my hands so I contacted "Superstar Wireless". I asked them if it was truly a Gevey Ultra and not a knock off. Their response was:

Would be worth double checking with Gevey...

Gevey's official importer in USA is indeed ApplenBerry.
However, what's stopping any random individual buying 1000 pieces in China or via Alibaba then reselling in USA? Nothing.

Therefore, it's pointless to worry about who is a legit dealer who is not, as long as they sell the legit Gevey cards, I see no problem.

When you go to the part of calling 112, it is not illegal. You only have to call them for 2 seconds, and then you end the call. You are not suppose to successfully connect the call, which then would make it illegal if you did.

However, to tell the truth, if you were going to use the gevey sim, it is legal. Just follow the steps properly and you will be fine.

Assuming they are legit products, right. So here we have a NEW amazon seller with ZERO feedback, who's NOT an authorized reseller. I can see why that makes folks nervous.

Although maybe not made by Gevey, it works as advertised, that's what matters, no?

I guess you could say that but it really doesn't work as advertised if you ask me. You still need to do the whole 112 process the first time and that's not clearly said on their advertisements. We'd rather spend the extra few dollars and get something we know is reliable and real. The Supreme is basically a knock off using the same name, which isn't right either.

Anyhow, we received our Gevey Ultra's earlier this week. After installing a few, we haven't had a single problem. They work good and so far, very reliable.

Any wifi issues as was alluded to earlier in this thread?

Not for us. Have used 3 already without an issue.
Thanks. Please keep us posted. I know I've posted several concerns about Gevey and dialing 112 over the months, but perhaps this new "ultra" is something I will try before my next trip abroad. AT&T has a ridiculous, and cost prohibitive roaming system. I actually MISS T-mobile.

Then, when/if an iphone 5 is released unlocked, I'll buy that.

People need to use common sense.
I have posted that I paid $15 USD in China for the Gevey Pro, so if one is paying $10 in USA, why would it be legit?? Why not just buy from ApplenBerry if one wants to be 100% sure?

Gevey and applenberry listed a cheaper price for one day, then they raised it. Amazon seller still has the cheaper price... The amazon seller says he IS an authorized distributor. Out of curiosity I emailed gevey and asked if they were, but have gotten no reply. Yes, I know they only list applenberry for the U.S., but as we know websites aren't always kept up to date. Gevey's rarely is.

I guess it's hard to make people happy.

Think about it, people have been waiting for unlock solution since last Fall, before middle of March, your phone was just a iPod Touch, now you have a 100% working phone, all you need to do is going through the unlock process once. Really? That's too much to handle??

I am still on the original Gevey I bought on 3/14, till today I had to redo the unlock process 3 times. Every day I am using the phone, I am thankful that Gevey made the SIM.

Considering I run a repair business and sell these in a fairly large volume, yes it is too much. Not everyone is tech savvy like members of this forum. Sure, it's an easy process but people don't want a process at all. The Ultra is a great product and will make it much simpler for the less "techy" people.

Either way, my gripe isn't with the process of the Supreme. The problem is the Supreme is a fake product using another companies name and advertising their product falsely. They are showing the product to work with no setup at all, which it doesn't. If people want to save $10 then so be it, but the company still needs to advertise the right way with their OWN name.

After installing the furiousMod, my battery drops like crazy. Do you notice any of that?

Did you constantly lose network signals? That may be the reason, because the iPhone keeps searching cellular signal and have pop screen to warn you. Both would drain battery.

All of this now seems moot, given musclenerd's announcement that IOS5 closes the "gevey loophole".

My next iphone will be factory unlocked. Period.

Interesting point. Yes, it seems you have to cut it.

(sorry I deleted my other post, with the photos, seems rather moot given musclenerd's announcement, sigh).

Why do people think rebel sim is a fake? I purchased one from the UK with a programmer, and have updated the firmware to v5. No need for 112 and the signal picks up quick with the new firmware. Anyway... the rebel sim works for me on an ATT locked iphone with an O2 sim card. 3G and facetime work w/o problems too.

I imported Gevey Ultra from the US to Denmark. I had an AT&T-locked iPhone 4.

Followed the instructions and now my iPhone 4 (which I've had for months) is no longer bricked.

Total cost was $108 including import fees, shipping and the Gevey Ultra.

Words can't express how happy I am right now. It was expensive but saved me a fortune compared to what the phone would cost me here.

I bought it on eBay from this guy. I have nothing but praises for him. Package was shipped quickly (in an envelope marked 'Extremely urgent') and I was able to track it all the way from New York through customs and to it's arrival here in Denmark.
