Cool! I did Japan and Korea two summers ago. It's the hottest I've ever been in my life.China, NK, SK
After installing the furiousMod, my battery drops like crazy. Do you notice any of that?
My next iphone will be factory unlocked. Period.

If the Gevey Ultra really requires JB, it's really stupid of them IMHO.
Not so stupid if it's the only way they can eliminate dialing 112.
does Gevey sim work on jailbroken phones?
I imported Gevey Ultra from the US to Denmark. I had an AT&T-locked iPhone 4.
Followed the instructions and now my iPhone 4 (which I've had for months) is no longer bricked.
Total cost was $108 including import fees, shipping and the Gevey Ultra.
Words can't express how happy I am right now. It was expensive but saved me a fortune compared to what the phone would cost me here.
I bought it on eBay from this guy. I have nothing but praises for him. Package was shipped quickly (in an envelope marked 'Extremely urgent') and I was able to track it all the way from New York through customs and to it's arrival here in Denmark.

So, I've been reading this thread for some time and I feel that the Gevey Ultra may give me the solution I need for my travels this summer in Germany, Italy and around Switzerland and France. The only thing is I want to test and make sure everything's working before I leave, and T-Mobile's the only carrier to check to see if everything's good. The only problem is T-Mobile doesn't use microSIMs! Now, I have a roommate with a T-Mobile phone, but he's not a great friend of mine, simply just a roommate, so I'm unsure of how he'll take to me borrowing his SIM to cut it up. I suppose I could get him a new microSIM with the adapter for his phone if T-Mobile sells them, then I can test it, but he's a foreigner and the hassle would be ridiculous.
Long story short, how did some of you here in the States test your Gevey SIM on your iPhone to make sure it's working with T-Mobile still using regular SIMs? Do you think I should just see if my roommate would be down with getting a new microSIM with an adapter to help me out with my unlock?

Don't beat yourself up over (micro)SIM size. T-Mobile has hundreds of thousands of iPhone users, all of which have simply cut their SIM card to fit the micro size. Just cut it manually yourself, I did so with scissors with the SIM of a carrier that didn't send micros. Alternatively you could get the tools that would cut your SIM card without troubles, but the end result would just be the same as cutting it yourself. Make sure you try this before travelling though, if you mess up you won't find T-Mobile in Europe to replace your SIM for a second go![]()
TMobile offers prepaid SIMs. I think I'd go that route prior to asking your roommate, given your description.
So like many of you, I've been growing more and more desperate for an i4 unlock and am considering alternate options to do so.
After some quick research, it seems as though the Rebel sim is a scam, so I guess if anything, Gevey would be my only option. First of all, the whole "you have to dial 112 every time you reboot but it's kind of illegal" thing: are you actually connecting to a 911 operator? or do you just have to dial and hang up before you can even connect? In other words, just how illegal/unsafe is it? This second sentence here kinda spooks me...
"Without any doubt, spoofing of IMSI and ICCID using a legitimate emergency number is unethical or downright illegal. Also keep in mind that your network can request your IMEI during the emergency call and can ban your account for using false information and tampering with your SIM card."
Next, can anyone share some performance stories? I'll be using it on US T-Mobile, and, from what I've seen, data SHOULD work without a problem.
Also, although I'm not sure if anyone would know at this point, how does it perform with ios5? I'd hate to buy one now only to find out that it won't work once 5.0 is released.
Lastly, where's the best place to purchase one? I've heard that there are a lot of fakes around, and that authentic ones aren't cut down to micro-sim size.
I'm also seeing things that an untethered Gevey sim will be released very soon, maybe I'll be better off waiting for that...
Sorry for the string of questions, but before I buy I want to be sure I won't be having the police knocking on my door five minutes after I reboot my iphone!
I think you missed the point entirely.
Thanks, good idea. I need to do the same.
Support for iOS 5 has not been spoken yet, but someone who has tried can you tell for themselves.
Just picked one up from this guy for $22.15 shipped. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Seems legit so far.
