CPW - now preordering for delivery on the 11th online...

Just had the following email and a similar text message...

After checking with my credit card provider they have confirmed that they definitely did not cancel it for an security reasons and advised that they only requested 1p hence did not put the transaction through properly.

I think some foul play is occurring here. Just sat waiting for someone to answer the phone!!

EDIT: After speaking to a CPW representative - they have put it through on a different card and advise that the phone WILL be delivered on Friday. What a strange sequence of events!

Try again Relik, after speaking to a CPW representative - they have put it through on a different card and advise that the phone WILL be delivered on Friday. What a strange sequence of events!

Once again thanks for the advice Stiggypop. I got through and they were fine with a new card, unfortunately they only have the 8GB left so I'll chance my arm Friday.
 
Hi I didn't use my PAC code when i checked out my order can I still use it when I get my phone? or will I be stuck with the number that comes with the Iphone
 
Well I'm now thoroughly PISSED OFF with O2 so bear with me while I vent. Based on the advice above I decided to phone and check the status as it hadn't moved, only to be told the order had been cancelled for some reason or other. I asked if they intended to contact me or notify me in some way, to which he said 'that can take up to 24 hours'. Considering my current phone was purchased through CPW I asked him if there's not some way they can approve it, and after a few more minutes he came back and said no, the network (O2) has declined it. My only option is to wait 3 months until the network 'resets their criteria'.

Needless to say I'm NOT HAPPY! I've wasted half the day today between O2's lousy website and CPW's crappy service, and I'm still no better off. To make it worse I've no confidence that even if I go and queue on Friday I'll get a phone through O2.

I should qualify this by saying I've had mobile phones with every major carrier in this country for the last 12 years, never missed a payment, I have perfect credit with no debts outstanding, and I'm a homeowner. What do I have to do to prove I deserve a phone!

i wondered the exact same thing because i initially wanted to go on the O2 website and simply upgrade, so i popped into carphone warehouse and they said that i just need to request a PAC code from O2 (i'm currently on a O2 simplitcity tarrif) and i'll be able to keep my old number when I get my iPhone and if I get it by friday they said they'll walk me through it.

you need to do this asap as if you read cpw tcs they say port number only at upfront ordering...

Gutted for you mate, you should just check your experian credit (think its free now) and see if there is anything on there unexpected.

Its weird how you can have a moby contract now, but not qualify for O2...
 
well if they don't let me keep my number I will just send it back you have 14 days right but I will give them a ring tomorrow and see what they say.

Thanks - I already check my credit regularly and I know it's perfect. Somehow I knew I was going to get screwed around by O2 when I tried to pre-register in the Oxford St. stores on Saturday. The first store said 'sorry, we're no longer allowed to pre-approve' and the second, after agreeing to do it, claimed they couldn't find my flat in their database (despite the flats on either side of mine being there!) They suggested I go into the post office and ask them to add my flat to the database.... which is utterly ridiculous as I've done an address search on Royal Mail and it's there - exactly as it should be.

O2 are BEYOND USELESS!

My god.. how many did they start with? They've really sold half the available launch iphones in one day? That does *not* look good for store availability.

I hope it's just a case of O2 making stuff up again...
 
I know I was getting a bit worried about all the out-of-stock notices that started appearing, so I selected a link a couple of posts above, Ollywood's, and found this quote:

"A Carphone Warehouse spokeswoman said there had been "an issue" with its Web site wrongly stating all 3G iPhone models are out of stock. The retailer is not in fact out of stock of any of the 3G models, she said. Carphone Warehouse's Web site saw a 46 percent increase in traffic after the preorder was made available, she added."

Hey guys does anyone know what time Carphone Warehouse stores are expecting to open on Friday? I thought I'd ask before calling my local store. I was curious as I wanted to know If i'm going to be able to pick up my pre-order before work. Will I be able to get this from the stock already in the store or will it be a seperate delivery? Will this delivery take place before Friday?

The other thing I was curious about is, I've got my PAC code but rushed through my order online as I just wanted to make sure I got the phone so didn't enter it. Will I be able to give them this when I get my Phone on Friday and keep my number?

Mmm maybe I should just give CPW a call.... :confused:

I have just rang cpw up and they wouldn't let me keep my nunber as I didn't use my PAC at the time of the order, So they canceled my order and tried giving me a credit note for £160 lol Anyway I got my money back not crappy cpw credit note. Looks like I will be going to O2 on Friday :D
 
Is anyone else (who placed their order yesterday) still showing as stage 1 on the order tracking? I ordered about 12.00 so I thought it would have at least been on stage 2 by now!

Also if you have a number on O2 payg can you transfer this across at a later stage with CPW? I assumed this would be ok and I wouldnt need to get a pac code as its with the same carrier.

I'm still on stage 1 and i phoned this morning, apparently nothing is wrong with my card they are just taking time to process all the orders. They will phone you if something is wrong.
 
Still on stage 1 here. Gonna give them a call about this PAC code malarkay in a bit. Will let you guys know if I cancell the order or not :/

Hi I ordered around 4pm yesterday and my order was at stage 2 so i don't know whats going on with yours.
On the Pac Code the iphone comes with a number if your want this number changed you had to do it at the time of placing the order if you don't the only way to use your own number to is to cancel and start again. If I was you I would give cpw a call.
