Yes, there's even an online form to do it.. but it might take a few days to transfer the number.

You can't use the 02 site if you are buying it from cpw as i asked about this because i didn't understand why you needed your Pac code and the time of ordering but cpw have there own rules.

''To transfer your number when you sign up to a new contract online, phone us on 0870 087 0870 before placing your order to speak to a member of our team because we’re currently unable to process this online''

I currently have a non-iphone contract with O2 through CPW.

I have just called the O2 customer service number (0870 111 7200 - free from an O2 mobile) and pressed the upgrade options.

Got through to a sales advisor who put me on the pre-order list. This means I will get a call on weds or thu to confirm my order then I will get an iphone delivered on friday.

No waiting, no hassle. :)

What? Are CPW pulling the CPWO2 crap on the iphone? I thought they'd stopped that. That's a very good reason not to touch them with a bargepole if so - you end up stuck with a reseller and aren't a real O2 customer.

OTOH if they're not, as I'd prevously heard, then the O2 site will will work fine wherever you buy the iphone from.

Well cpw are full of **** looks like they made me cancel my order when all I had to do is ring 02 when I got it on Friday and use the PAC code then or do it on o2 website. Well at least there is 1 more iphone for them to sell but I wouldn't want to be stuck in a contract with them

Even if you purchase the iphone through CPW I don't believe that you have any contract with CPW themselves - they are simply selling you an o2 contract and once you recieve your iphone you shouldn't ever need to deal with CPW again (thankfully).

At least I hope that this is the case...

Wow... I hope they let me use my pac code on friday (If they can deliver a 16gb iphone to me)

After I ordered online I called and a nice guy (sounded a bit overwhelmed to be honest) answered loads of my questions. One of which was billing. I asked him do I get billed by CPW or direct from O2. He said...." All contracts are with O2 direct. We're just acting as the 3rd party sales intermediary".

(The fact he used the intermediary calmed me for he pronounced it correctly and when quizzed knew what it meant !!)

So I'm happy to believe that the PAC code can be used once I have a sparkly new Iphone in my sweatly little grip.

Ok...thats reassuring. Someone with the same understanding.

(But you're far more succinct than me !)

I'm still worried about being on stage 1 still. Anyone else?

I'm still at stage 1 and I got my order confirmation at 1226. I've dropped the ball over number porting though. I'm going to have to call CPW and cancel if necessary.

Well as an update to my saga (see several posts above) I phoned CPW again this morning to try to get them to phone O2 and sort the issue of the approval being declined. Apparently they're unable to do this - point blank.

More importantly, if the approval is declined by O2 for any reason, your 'reserved' iPhone is automatically released back into stock before they even attempt to speak to you. So you've lost your place in the queue entirely, and the online order tracking thing doesn't even indicate there's an issue.

On a brighter note I spoke directly to O2 this morning and (after quite a lot of messing about) I ended up setting up a Simplicity contract just to get the credit approval out of the way. In any case I have 14 days to cancel it, and it's only £15 anyway - which is WELL worth it if it saves me the hassle on Friday!

CPW can poke it for all I care. :D And that will be the last time I ever deal with the idiots.

OK so I called CPW. I was a little worried about my order as I was still on stage 1. (confirmation email of order was just before 12.00 yesterday) I had a call from Natwest about my credit card late yesterday as they had initially blocked the payment as they thought it maybe fraud so this also led me to believe there maybe a problem. After I confirmed it was my transaction they said ok but this didn't mean CPW would've tried again so I called.

They said that there had been a problem (yet no one called me?!) they would have to do the credit check again this evening. I mentioned about my PAC code and she said she would need it now. I don't have it on me so she said she would call back tomorrow after the payment and credit check and she could take my PAC code then. She was great actually as a first time CPW user I was very pleased with their service. Lets just hope now I still receive the phone by Friday.

I bet she won't call you back tomorrow :D but good luck anyway

im thinking of cancelling as im still on stage1 and they havent phoned me to tell me anything is wrong. What you guys think?

I'd phone them - at least then you're sure, and it would be a shame to give up your position if you have managed to reserve one. From comments in another thread here it looks like the initial allocation has been very slim, and trying to queue up for one on Friday may be carnage!

I would, as you'll probably have more chance of getting one, on July 11th, if you go in-store anyway, rather than wait for O2 to sort out this utter mess of an upgrade process, and then thinking about shipping the devices to the people who were successful.

I phoned them and they said nothing was wrong with my card. Heard nothing since then tho.

Im still on Stage 1 also, having ordered at 12.10pm yesterday.

On another note I also forgot to enter my PAC details online but phoned last night and the guy was more than happy to take those details over the phone.

So, are those of us on stage 1 not getting one on friday then?

The message now is no stock. I don't see it is possible that you got this upgrade.

Is CPW selling upgrade packages online for existing iPhone customers?

I wonder if they are struggling with order volume or that our orders are just broken in some way.

oh dear god - cpw are as bad as o2. so they were apparently having an issue processing my initial payment - as far as my bank is concerned they never even tried after the 1st 1 penny test transaction.

if you try and email myorders@cpw.co.uk it will bounce - it throws a 5.1.1 exchange error which means the mail box doesn't exist.

after spending some 'quality' time with cpw on the phone, it turns out they have TURNED THE MAIL BOX OFF because they are getting too many emails. they will, apparently, not be turning it back on until the 11th i.e. no iphones for anybody day of.

what a fantastic system

Just spoke to CPW and said that I'd ordered an iPhone yesterday but still wasn't clear whether I could expect to receive one on Friday or not. Rather than just reel off a standard response like I was getting yesterday, the guy actually took my details and checked. He said that the order was "closed" and that I should be receiving it on Friday :) :) :)

For the record:

16GB ordered yesterday for delivery to home address
Order acknowledged at 11:53 yesterday
Out-of-Stock e-mail received at 12:05 yesterday
Order Status moved to Stage 2 mid afternoon yesterday

Fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong now...

Yea the fraud team at my credit card people found the 1p transaction suspicious so they stopped the transaction until my approval. Maybe that happened to you? Eitherway all this grief and hassle is making me less and less bothered that I may not receive it on the 11th. As long as it's ordered and I'm getting the model I want, I'll get it when I get it... :/
