Good find - The date on that image says that they at least updated that promo image today.

Maybe they will pull the switch after Macworld is done today. (5pm PST right?) Any other resources that might reveal more? I couldn't find any.

Apple currently use the "Innovation runs in the family" on their features page.

I completely forgot that macworld was today.

Another "dream"

Yup, 500GB is the biggest that currently exists for notebooks, from what I know. There will also not be a 19-inch or Blu Ray on the next models.

Yeah, thanks for the Tech-update, heh.
Ok then, how about a 500 gb 7200 RPM drive with a SSD kicker? Like Toshiba offers on their Qosmio X505-Q880.

btw, just to refresh...Definition of dream - "A dream is a succession of images, thoughts, sounds, or emotions passing through the mind during sleep. The content and purpose of dreams are not fully understood".

But that doesn't make them any less fun! heh

There is no question that they're going to update soon, just a matter of how soon. The anticipation is kind of killing me.

considering the date on the current promo image for the macbook pro is the date that the current model was released, I'd guess that the date the next model will be released is the date on the next promo image.

That logic makes sense to me...

I think that Apple is just making there last promotional effort to sell there last Macbook Pros to suddenly come out with the new ones in maybe a couple of weeks from now.. (maybe until end of Feb beginning of March!!!!)

Except they aren't using this new image on the apple site yet, at least not that I can find. If this was a last promotional effort, why is it not being used yet??

After much thought, I have concluded that Steve wanted to give us a hint that it's coming soon. He probably wanted to release them but couldn't due to them not being quite ready; but it is going to be good when they do come.

He at least removed the "New" signs from the site, knowing we needed at least something to keep our hopes going.

It's a sign that it's at least coming soon. I'd rather have them when they are ready rather than premature.

Let's hope it's next week!

I wonder what happens to the current MBP models that are still in stock when the new MBPs are released.

sorry to burst everyones bubble but i'm at work right now on break and RSS says that we are active on the mb990 and 991 (both 13 inchers) and the 15.. i didnt check the rest because im pretty sure i would strike out... could have done it by accident? or changed it? or maybe its deleted in certain districts (and no i will not tell you which store i work for and what time i clocked in lol) but inventory is getting kind of low to tell you the truth, about 20 of each 13 pro and 10 of each 15 pro with like 40 999ers

wait, so you checked the macbooks but not the macbook pros? the macbook pros are what we're talking about...

I go to UCLA, and our computer store is taking an extra $100 off the academic prices for the 15-inch Macbook pro's for just this week.

Yeah, you can return it within 14 days, assuming you bought it from Apple.com. I'm sure they're getting a lot of returns. I believe there is a 10% restocking fee, though.

Hmm, well if a new one comes out in my 14 days I will return it but if not I will sell this one and get the new one I guess...

While it was cryptic he gave the pertinent information ...

about 20 of each 13 pro (~20 MBP 13" @ 2.26 and 2.53 GHz)
and 10 of each 15 pro (~10 each 15" @ 2.53, 2.66 and 2.8GHz)
with like 40 999ers (Macbook plastic unibody @ 2.26)

Cheers,

It's coming tonight. If it doesn't, my next post will be a troll-post about how Apple is crap. It will hurt me oh so much to do so.

OMG... Apple is so crap! Do they really expect us to want to buy old technology? MBPs have Core 2 Duo, and NVIDIA 9600M GT still??? I give up! I'm buying a Sony Vaio or a HP Envy! So long sukkas!

But seriously, taking the store down just to add a new version of Aperture??? Apple really is evil! And LOL, the "new" MBP family is on the front page in the little boxes... LOL...

So... Tomorrow???

ahhh, thank you. sorry about my ignorance.

At least no release today lowers the chance that Apple will use NVIDIA GPUs, which no-one wants. ATI has way better options! And IMO, Optimus is a waste of time anyway.
