Dear Steve,
I signed up for an iPhone Development class at my University but have held off on getting a new MBP because they were about to update. There are a limited number of Macs available for general use. Please release the new MBP's tonight or tomorrow so I can buy one, download XCode and catch up in this class. If not I hold you personally responsible for my struggles in this class....

You just told him you are a future customer for life.

You are now his iBitch. I doubt he cares about your needs now.

probably just a change in processor to i series. min ram will be 2gb like always and a 5400 rpm HD, like always.

nvidia GPU situation may be iffy. i don't think they will use the integrated intel HD gpu. or they might, and have switchable graphics?

also, does anyone know sort of performance incr these the i3/i5 series will provide over the c2d p7xxx series?

don't the higher end ones come with 4GB standard now? i always buy the $2k model.

edit: yeah.. only the lowest one has 2GB.

And I have been watching Microcenters "stock on hand" off their website slowly dwindle to around 15 units from normally more than 100.......so I guess we will see soon.

And now just looked, that inventory is now less than what you can count on one hand. Their inventory has fallen to the lowest levels on these I have ever seen. I am guessing new units soon????

Perhaps the next MBP update will be the most important thing that Steve has done in his life?

He did say on Jan 27th that he is excited about everything that will be coming out this year. So its not just gonna be the iPad. I'm sure new MBP's and iPhone 4th gen, etc

Gonna be a good year!

it's supposed to be the Dual Core variant of Core i7

I purchased an open box 17" MBP for $2099. Got it three weeks ago and have up to 45 days to return. i wouldn't mind spending the extra $400 to get a 17" MBP with an i7 Quad-Core Chip. That baby would fly!

I guess we'll find for sure when the mystery update occurs.

Apple needs some new magic to excite the fanbase considering the lackluster response to the iPad. So, i hope they release these soon.

None of the RSS pages actually mean anything other than it is a "deleted" item. A deleted item is just an active item that the store does not carry. The "perf code C" confirms that it is active. It seems this Best Buy does not even carry Macs or else they would say "active" or "discontinued."

It amazes me how one stupid employee can trick so many people.

More importantly, has anyone heard from the OP? Is he still alive or did he have "brake trouble" on the way to work today?

Oh I'm still here. And your right, the store doesn't carry macs. But if you RSS the iMacs, the mac minis, any other apple comp, it shows not carried by location. All the pros show deleted. There definately some significance.

i can hope can't i?

The must be stalling because they want to throw light peak in on the next revision :p

I have been checking this site for 2 weeks ... and its entertaining ,,, but i want my macbook pro sooner then later / that would be nice. since my computer is 8 years old

I bet it doesn't work. Good luck.

Already confirmed. Got a free shipping label from Apple; case # references/confirms my shipping return + full refund for my refurb purchased back in November. Thanks for the loaner, Apple.
