Hello, sorry, been on the road I just checked the order status and the big bold "Action required" that was previously listed at the top is now gone, but, it still hasn't shipped.. the status is still "not yet shipped" with a shipping message slated as, ships on or before March 16th.. so I have no idea what's going on now.. the whole thing is just numbing me and really killing my excitement of getting a new laptop, it's out of my hands, I'll get it when they ship it..

Interesting. Another forum member (AppleMayhem) supposedly has insider knowledge and he also said the new MBP's should be released on March 16th.

That's kind of odd. It would seem weird for them to hold out and give you the "new" MBP without asking what options you were looking for (or even telling you what those options are).

Regardless, good luck. I'm sure whatever you get will be great when it shows up. ;)

Seems very odd, since it was ordered on Feb. 12th -- if no one else was receiving their 17" MBPs in that timeframe, we'd be hearing about it. Probably something specific to his account/order. IMHO.

If it's going to ship in two weeks at the latest, I'd just cancel the order and wait. Unless you had a deadline.

First post btw.

I just picked up a new Macbook (white one) just to kinda relieve the stress of watching this darn thread. I'm on end every Tuesday just waiting for the news and BAM.. Nada... Zilch...

So I was at Microcenter and could not pass one up for 799.00, I figured it'll give me something to mess around with till the new MBP's come out. (that's if they are even worth all the wait and hype that I'm hoping for)

Come on come on come on Apple. Release it already. This money is burning a hole in my pocket! I've turned macrumour mad. I must check at least every half hour. iPhone, touch...any internet enabled device i'm near....

Yeah... I mean, If I could place an order for my CTO 17" and it would mean I was first in line to get a newly built Core i7 machine I'd place the order right now. But as it stands the store (I'm eligible for gov't and education) tells me it's still a C2D that ships in 1-3 days for a CTO.

Gotta stay patient, I guess....

I think I'm caught in a loop because, I ordered it through my place of employment that has a contract with Apple.. so even though I ordered it for my personal use, the order it's still going through my employer..

I'm sure if I would have just went to Apple.com and ordered it online, I would have had it by now...

So, I'm not sure if Apple is delaying it until the upgrade seeing how the order is for a "business that has a contract with them" as opposed to just a random purchase..

Did that make any sense??? I'm just rambling..

Software?

Please let me know if I am wrong but hasn't Apple in the past released new hardware when new software has been released? Shouldn't we be getting new iLife and iWork soon?

Does anyone know when the last updates were for those two? I still have ilife 08 so not sure when the 09 came out but maybe Apple is waiting to release the new MBP when those are ready...

How do they do customer reviews of something that isn't released (refering to core i7 logo). Makes me wonder if all customer reviews are b.s...?

It's being discussed over in the MBP forum, but I figured I'd share that several MBP entries on Best Buy's site are now showing with a Core i7 logo instead of C2D. The specs still list a Core 2 Duo, but the logo has definitely changed...

Both 13" models and the low-end 15 seem to bear the logo now.

If you see the "Specifications" section however, the processor is stated as Core 2 Duo and not an i7 / i series.

every tuesday there's another reason we get excited... is there anything that could turn up which would tell us definitely that the new mbps are being released the next tuesday?

Core i7 MBP's at Best Buy

This is probably that same employee that got this whole thread started that photo shopped an i7 logo onto their website just to sit back and watch us all talk about "Next Tuesday"..... again.

If so, good job my friend, good job.
