If its not out by the 16th!!!! I'm just going to get either the HP or Alienware one. I cant be bothered waiting for Apple much longer.

There are rumors surfaced this week claim that the iPad production volume for March is low due to problems in factories in Asia. The reports suggest that Apple will be able to produce only 200k iPad when they first release it.

I think this is a good news for people who want the new MBP to be announced soon, because releasing the new MBP in the very near future won't effect the iPad release.

Let's say there are 500k people who want to buy an iPad when it is released, and let's assume if Apple announce the new MBP this week, 100k of the 500k people have changed their minds and will buy a MBP instead. The iPad will still be a success because 400k people want to buy it and half of them cannot find it because it is sold out.

The above is my interpretation and it is not necessarily true.

I don't know. If I wanted the most bang for my buck, I think I'd sell the iPads and the new MBP's both on the same day. Then you have people choosing one or the other. Regardless of the profit margin I think Jobs would want the iPad to sell big numbers, so maybe even hold off on MBP until after the iPad launch.

The Best Buy inventory pictures showed the products were going to be in-stock on the 14th, right? It most likely isn't going to be the wi-fi iPad, since that's being released on the 3rd of next month, and the 16th is an upcoming Tuesday that we're all thinking could be the day (again...). Could the iPad's date make the 16th release a bit more salient?

Also, my school's digital store, which is licensed (and got a remodeling to look like an Apple Store) apparently had a change in contract with Apple. Now they need to make school ID checks for any Apple product, including cables and anything else that is officially Apple. I'm wondering if that might signal an upcoming deal this year that is only for the Education stores, calling for ID checks.

Damn if i can't get it till 16th i will never buy any :apple: Product:mad: and i get it on either dates

i'll buy every apple Product :D

I don't know if this means much but I have been watching the stock levels on ebuyer.com as this is where Im likely to get my Macbook from because I can get it ex VAT through work. I havent quite saved enough yet (one or two more pay days).

But my point is their stock of MBP is getting less, they are completely out of the 13" and only a few others. But showing 33 on the Macbook Unibody White which showed less than 15 the other day so they have obviously had a delivery.

The stock of the MBP's however just keeps falling.

SOOOOO ANXIOUS!!!!
i've been waiting since that one guy posted that there would be a new one "in a week." It's been way more than that!

ugh

i want a mbp so bad it hurts.i almost went today but i keep telling myself maybe tuesday.what do you guys think.i never owend a mac but not sure if i really need whatver the new stuff is.

Guess

:apple:Stv is just waiting to clear the stock of current MBPs
Maybe, there are so many that they loose a lot :p
So , everyone should buy current MBPs to make the refresh happen soon

If they don't...

The monitor went out on my old MacBook back in December so I have been tied to an external since then. I am a programmer and really need the power and convenience of a new, portable, MacBook Pro... this wait is just killing me.

I'll have to buy something in the next 2 months as I am going to be traveling for work so I may get a basic MacBook (since it will be more resalable than a Core 2 Duo MBP once the new MBP arrives) and then get the Pro after I am back in July. Having to wait that long would suuuuuuuck.

That said, I could spare everyone the wait and just buy now as that would guarantee the MBP would be released promptly after my purchase is made.

Out of curiosity what video card upgrade should i be hoping for on the new MBP line? I havent been following the latest tech for ages now and i got no idea what the fastest mobile GPU's are?

I'm always done alot of gaming on my MBP and continue to hope to with the new one when it (finally) comes out.

I went in to the South center Apple store up here in Washington and asked what kind of stock levels they had on the 17" and the lady told me they have quite a few, both in the gloss and anti-glare.

I still bet we have some more time to wait. Sucky but if the MBP's don't come out soon then I might just have to get the iPad and save more then get the Pro later!

Are the only people actually considering buying an iPad those that don't own an iPhone already? It just would seem like overkill to have an iPad, MBP and an iPhone at this point. I can see purchasing later down the line in the 2nd/3rd generation when design improvements are made and functionality increased. However at this point it seems like people are willingly signing up to be guinea pigs for a piece of hardware that remains quite questionable.

I have been reading the forums for about a month now waiting on the updates to come but still nothing.

I think I will go ahead and order one of the current models as my powerbook g4 is really down in the dumps at this stage.

If I buy from the likes of amazon do I still get the 7 or 14 days were I can return it in case they do turn around with a new model in that time or is that only available from the apple store?

Anyone know ?

Not sure, but i think Amazon Prime members get a longer return cycle, so you may want to spring for that. I would buy it locally though, so if the new ones come out, yours will do the obvious price drop and you can get the price match back in your pocket.

I want to buy it as an ereader, but I don't have an iphone. And I think some people see great value in for a variety of reasons
