There are rumors surfaced this week claim that the iPad production volume for March is low due to problems in factories in Asia. The reports suggest that Apple will be able to produce only 200k iPad when they first release it.
I think this is a good news for people who want the new MBP to be announced soon, because releasing the new MBP in the very near future won't effect the iPad release.
Let's say there are 500k people who want to buy an iPad when it is released, and let's assume if Apple announce the new MBP this week, 100k of the 500k people have changed their minds and will buy a MBP instead. The iPad will still be a success because 400k people want to buy it and half of them cannot find it because it is sold out.
The above is my interpretation and it is not necessarily true.
So is there a better chance for the 9th or 16th?

What does everyone think as far as HDMI goes for the Arrandale mbp?
I went in to the South center Apple store up here in Washington and asked what kind of stock levels they had on the 17" and the lady told me they have quite a few, both in the gloss and anti-glare.
I still bet we have some more time to wait. Sucky but if the MBP's don't come out soon then I might just have to get the iPad and save more then get the Pro later!
(...)(I live in India and here Macbooks are insanely overpriced

As everyone claims on 9to5 i bet its fake and just a mediastunt.Hey there, been reading for a while in the wait for the new MBPs. Still have some patience left... but it's running low. Especially after reading this April rumour. What do you say, is it fake?

I have been reading the forums for about a month now waiting on the updates to come but still nothing.
I think I will go ahead and order one of the current models as my powerbook g4 is really down in the dumps at this stage.
If I buy from the likes of amazon do I still get the 7 or 14 days were I can return it in case they do turn around with a new model in that time or is that only available from the apple store?
Anyone know ?
Are the only people actually considering buying an iPad those that don't own an iPhone already? It just would seem like overkill to have an iPad, MBP and an iPhone at this point. I can see purchasing later down the line in the 2nd/3rd generation when design improvements are made and functionality increased. However at this point it seems like people are willingly signing up to be guinea pigs for a piece of hardware that remains quite questionable.
