This is probably that same employee that got this whole thread started that photo shopped an i7 logo onto their website just to sit back and watch us all talk about "Next Tuesday"..... again.

If so, good job my friend, good job.

Do you really think some random employee would screw with the website? I'm guessing that would cost someone their job, and would be easily trackable.

do you really think Best Buy wouldn't be bothered if some random employee just "faked" a product description on their official website ??

by the way, has something similar been leaked by Best Buy in the past ?? I've heard that last year there was a similar situation where the mentioned "in stock" date actually proved to be real.

Newly infected from the MBP 2010 Virus!

As a graphic designer, I believe they are slowly preparing the Best Buy website to accomadate an update, lets keep a look out over the next few days if anything else might change in the Macbook Pro section of Best Buys website.

I am doubtful it will be March 9th, more likely March 16th or beyond.

A few things that point me to a mid to end of March 2010 release date is:

1)Best Buy stock extremely low...and when I asked one of the employees at the store, why they were so low, he was not sure, but never has he seen the inventory go that low, without being restocked after this much time. Macbook Pros have been flying off the shelves since June 2009.

2)The new Macbook Pro processors were benchmarked already practically over a month ago on Geekbench. Seems to me that 2010 production units are making there tours via Apple.

3)Cycle rate is due for an upgrade.

4)Now this mysterious logo on the Best Buy website, marketing is begining to surface, and that doesn't usually happen months before release for apple.

Thanks for listening, I am new here so go easy ;)

Fingers crossed guys !! If it doesn't get launched by the 19th, I'm gonna have to wait for a lot of time to get it. Dad will be in the US around that time and he'll be catching the return flight on the 20th... so.... :( (I live in India and here Macbooks are insanely overpriced   !!)

If that were the case, fists would be flyin! I need a Macbook and I want the Pro so all this hoping and dreaming and late nights... Damn it Apple! What are you doing to most of us????

As was said on another thread, a lot of i5s had the i7 logo and I think someone said that a laptop with a core 2 duo also had the i7 logo. I haven't checked the core 2 duos had it yet but it could be a more then just a mistake wuth thembps...

It'd be a dream come true for me if the refresh happens before March 31 because that's when the free iPod Touch rebate ends here in Australia. I want to get one and sell it on Ebay, as I'm a tight bastard. :)

I really beleive that the logo in the bestbuy website is a pretty good sign of it comming out soon.. if u check for instance any other pc laptop that is core 2 duo they have the normal core 2 duo logo only the hp new ones have the i7 logo.. and then for instance the white macbook has the core 2 duo logo so yeah its comming out..hopefully next week cause i CANT wait

iPad 3rd of april

The iPad is coming third of april...
So what does that say about the possible release dates for the MBPs...
Damn i wish we could take a look in someone's head right now.

It would be effing insane not to have the new MBPs in store (online or otherwise) if people are going to be filing in to order their iPads.

I'm probably grasping at straws...but does the slight delay of the iPad perhaps allow that window of opportunity to unveil the new MB's next Tuesday?

It's typical for Apple to have something on their home page for 3-4 weeks to generate interest. Let's hope this means new MB's next week otherwise, it could be early May until we see anything.

This is crazy! The only thing I can come up with is they want to see how many iPads can be sold to break some kind of record or some huge break through new product release numbers. Apple doesn't really care about money they might be losing because they know they will get it back sooner or later, meaning they want the iPad to sell huge, then they can start selling the MBP's.

I don't know, that's just my two cents...

There are rumors surfaced this week claim that the iPad production volume for March is low due to problems in factories in Asia. The reports suggest that Apple will be able to produce only 200k iPad when they first release it.

I think this is a good news for people who want the new MBP to be announced soon, because releasing the new MBP in the very near future won't effect the iPad release.

Let's say there are 500k people who want to buy an iPad when it is released, and let's assume if Apple announce the new MBP this week, 100k of the 500k people have changed their minds and will buy a MBP instead. The iPad will still be a success because 400k people want to buy it and half of them cannot find it because it is sold out.

The above is my interpretation and it is not necessarily true.

All of the above coupled with MacMall's MacBook Pro sale ending on March 9th (a Tuesday for those keeping track) would point to our new toys coming before the end of the month.

Because if anyone would know, it's MacMall.

You might as well pick March 9th based on the following:

March 9th, 1230 AD – Bulgarian tsar Ivan Asen II defeats Theodore of Epirus in the Battle of Klokotnitsa.

March 9th, 1959 – The Barbie doll makes its debut at the American International Toy Fair in New York.

March 9th, 1993 – Rodney King testifies against the four LAPD officers accused of violating his civil rights when they beat him during his 1991 arrest.

I would base it on the Bulgarian tsar Ivan event, as it seems that long ago that this thread started with expectations of a new MBP...
