frame gen would be amazing to have.
Yes, it was confirmed in the announcement about Cybepunk.

Which helps no one since you would need the new OS for the feature, so the game would be released closer to the end of the year and not early 2025 like originally announced. Unless they release the game without the feature and add it in later (they do this for all the new nvidia features).Since WWDC is just two months away I would guess they release Cyberpunk after they announce Frame Gen in Metal 3-4 at WWDC.
only if the base framerate is high enough, unless Apple has some framepacing latency reduction tech they are holding up their sleevesframe gen would be amazing to have.

With CP2077 coming to the Switch 2, I wonder if they paused macOS development to work on that.

Hard to say since there are no macOS tools to measure end-to-end latency like there is on PC.Isn’t that what Game Mode does? Maybe it’s time for a 2.0 version??
No, game mode prioritizes the game over other processes. This can improve OS latency somewhat but for frame gen you need some sort of further latency reduction technique like Nvidia Reflex.Isn’t that what Game Mode does? Maybe it’s time for a 2.0 version??

I'm not sure what you mean by any of that, but I'd love to hear more details please!
Nah, Pezimak thinks “early 2025” 😂Are we all thinking WWDC for CP2077 macOS launch?
Are we all thinking WWDC for CP2077 macOS launch? Do we think this could be overshadowed by the Switch 2 release a few days prior?
I predict a release in 2077 to go along with the game title.
I would be surprised if most MacOS users that are interested in the game don't already have the Windows version.
I don’t have the Windows version, because we don’t have a Windows PC in our home, only the one Mac.
I think that most Mac people who are interested in gaming. have Crossover.
How much of a market is there for this game at this point? Its a 5 year old game and most people who wanted to play have played. I'm not saying it won't be popular but I do wonder if it will have the burst in sales that CDPR hopes it willAre we all thinking WWDC for CP2077 macOS
I’m trying to imagine based on past experience with iOS games how degraded the experience would be specifically combat, when wielding a katana can be fast and furious, unless it is somehow nerfed. That said, I have never been a big fan of iOS for games. I do play Minecraft on my iPad n occasionally, but this is nothing requiring fast reflexes. It depends on if the end goal is to get it running on iPadOS or iOS.
I agree, I've yet to see an action/rpg/fps game ported to ios/ipados that actually worked. Maybe if you had a controller, you it might be manageable, but I think people playing on their phones, don't tend to carry a game controller with them.I’m trying to imagine based on past experience with iOS games how degraded the experience
they could require a gamepad to play the game (no onscreen controls). though I am sure that would reduce the addressable market.I’m trying to imagine based on past experience with iOS games how degraded the experience would be specifically combat, when wielding a katana can be fast and furious, unless it is somehow nerfed. Latest play through, I’m still a fawning fanboy. The Brain Dance and the editor and the process of your character being checked out by Judy is impressive. The fidelity of characters, voice acting, dynamic conversations, and the quality of the environment, Night City, and the surrounding desert, gives me shivers regarding just how amazing this is.
I’ve not seen every game ever made, but in the realm of RPGs I’m tempted to label this the best game I’ve ever played, with the caveat, it’s not perfect, AI could always be better, and it might not be for everyone, but in the light of this category of RPG, think Elder Scrolls, Fallout, or Red Dead Redemption, it’s damned good, it’s the best. 😍
Agreed on screen iOS controls are awkward, a no go.they could require a gamepad to play the game (no onscreen controls). though I am sure that would reduce the addressable market.
An historical note, Bootcamp kept me gaming on a Mac for at least 4 more years than otherwise would have happened. I traveled professionally, and it allowed me to have it all on one MBP. 🙂I hope bootcamp never returns, it was crap and old graphic drivers and Windows. And a lot of those games that are native (like World of Warcraft) are running pretty good and have a good support team. Takes time and patience, please no Bootcamp.
