Sounds like the only winners of this were the ones that matter to fool the poor Best Buy employees into this deal. I just hope this deal didn't cost some poor guy/gal their job either.
I got a M2 iPad Pro 11 from Best Buy half off. I didn’t “fool” them into anything. I walked in, asked “will you price match this?”They said they were aware and matching the discount on the iPad Airs, but they’d need to call to ask about the Pros. They called their superior, got the OK, and sold me the iPad Pro. I asked if I could buy a regular iPad as well, and they said they’d been told only one price match per customer. I asked how many people had came in to ask about the discount, he said he’d only spoken to one customer since clocked in, and I got there an hour before they closed.

I think we all need to realize that we’re Apple/tech enthusiasts, and while WE are all certainly talking about it, not a single one of my friends/family/employees/etc has any clue, nor would they care about iPads being half priced.

We’re taking note of the username.

Usually, whenever something sounds too good to be true, it is.

I would rather buy directly from Apple than this company I haven't heard of, but I wish you people luck in your journey to get a half-price iPad.

Lol it’s funny about 24 hours ago, I was hoping for a miracle that this would actually ship, and now I’m hoping for a quick cancellation so I can have the funds back on my Apple Card.

Wait, you have been charged? That is actually good. I have:
Authorization in progress.

I've asked half a dozen friends with US credit cards and all of them refuse to do business with TD.

Well mine is a pending charge, so technically no. I just want the pending charge to go away and I’m hoping it doesn’t take too long.

Oh I don’t see that option on the TigerDirect website.
Don't cancel now... you've come this far already lol.... and besides a pending charge on your card is nothing, they haven't actually charged you.... If you need to make a purchase and go over your spending limit the Apple card will let you with no fees. so just ignore the pending charge and don't look at it. I am assuming this will be resolved between today and tomorrow..... I don't know how much longer TD can let this fester out there, they don't have the "its over the weekend" excuse any more.

Pending charge isn't a charge. It's just a hold of funds that falls off after so many days (5-7 days, I believe) if the actual charge hasn't gone through. The hold is managed by the credit card company, not the vendor. There's nothing to get back. The hold won't stay indefinitely. You're not out any cash. 👍

If anything, I’ve learned in this thread that there are lots of clueless people that don’t know how credit cards work and preauthorization holds. Geez.
Sorry. I'll make sure I become more of an expert for next time!

I just chatted with Tiger Direct support, and they said that if you order is showing in Order Review it will take 5 to 7 Business Days to review your order, before it can be processed. They suggested Selecting Overnight Shipping when your order is placed to avoid the long Order Review phase. I cancelled my order with them, as I do not want to wait up to 7 business days, just to find out they cancelled my order on me. Your mileage may vary...

Maybe it is me but I don’t understand this logic. You order something at a half price and you cancel it on the next day, because you have to wait 5 more days? Am I missing something important here?
Grin. I was about to say the same thing. I would wait months for a half-price new iPad. On the other hand, I can understand wanting to move on if you're sure it's not going to happen.

So Order Review is just a trick to get people to cancel? 😂
