I'm in Northern Kentucky and every Bestbuy within 250 miles is sold out of the 64gb iPhone SE for Verizon. Im pretty sure this analyst is just guessing

Oh no, only 205 million units best case scenario! It's the end of Apple! How can they possibly survive on $50 million quarterly iPhone revenue when some fool says it should have been $53 million! Sell your shares quick! This thing is going to go down faster than the Titanic!"
To be honest, if Apple's quarterly revenue drops to $50 million, then it's not time to sell your shares, but it's much too late.

The Galaxy S7 Edge would definitely tempt me over an iPhone 6s Plus if I didn't already own the iPhone. Curved screen, OLED display, better camera, waterproofing etc.

I thought I would only purchase Apple phones. I finally got this Galaxy S7 Edge last week as a second phone and I really like what Samsung has done. I even went in the pool and recorded selfie video under water. I almost think of this as the iPhone 7. Still learning Android but it won't take much longer.

Apple started losing me...

I've never been disappointed with any of my Apple hardware purchases although I was ticked when they stopped making the 17" MacBook Pro, livid actually. My biggest downfall was letting myself get suckered as deep as I am into iBooks - I never researched enough to know that these 200 + books I now have will be forever beholden to some Apple device - absolutely no chancey to move them over to an Android device should I ever have my fill of Apple BS.

It's a shame that Apple won't let us install iOS on other hardware. Much like how Apple fans would like Nintendo to abandon hardware and make all their games for iOS, I'm starting to understand shooting hardware lines in order to make more sales.

That new Samsung S7 (I think?) looks phenomenal. There hasn't been a huge update to the iPhone line in such a long time that the only reason I buy them is because of iOS. Back in the iPhone 4 days I bought Apple because of excellent hardware and software.

People who want an iphone have one already by and large.

some wanting predicted/rumored features are holding on to the ones they have.

some don't want any features on what has been offered since their buy even if years ago...not all chase the dragon with their electronics. I use my phone for calls, I use line as an IM or imessage for work people to shoot texts based on phone number. Basically unless my stuff breaks my 6 will live long and prosper really and I will skip the whole 7 when released and possibly 8 even.

I know in the Asian realm, Japan anyway, the way contracts are structured you tend to want to keep your phones for quite a while. Go in an ask for an upgrade, your contract has not burned off its time to a decent level....it can cost extra to have that new phone. Changing cell providers not always an ideal solution. They may not give incentives too. They don't eat the loss to get you from another provider as readily as the states seems to.

Not all get new phones, they get second hand in some way (second hand doesn't show up on these records usually, or not even on record at as my nephews in law are kicking old phones we had we turned over to their parents as family hookups over the years made it the nice thing to do).

Basically market plateaus and even dips to be expected.

I don't believe that Tim Cook has the same risk attitude as Steve Jobs had, when he successfully ventured into completely new product categories (like the ipod, itunes, iphone, ipad etc). And what Apple needs now is to go into a completely new product category that can change everything and make that new product a high-margin star product, while the iphone/ipads can become the lower margin (=cheaper) mass-market cash-cow products.

It's not that TC is risk adverse -- If you look at the changes made under his tutelage plenty of risky moves have been made even if they didn't generate the hoped consumer response. But you are correct that TC is not SJ in that TC doesn't have a feel for product gaps in the marketplace (the vision thing), optimal pricing, or the ability to harness the best out of the best employees -- instead seemingly giving them free reign, which is
the opposite of managing.

Frankly the biggest difference between TC and SJ is that SJ seemed to hyper focus on one new product group at a time (iMac, then iPod/iTMS, iPhone, iPad). Today's Apple is a bit schizophrenic & without one true everyone must have product that everyone talks about. Jobs pushed through products people would talk about. I don't think TC has that ability as much as he tries. It's not easy following SJ, but even tougher with roots as a Compaq bean counter.

And you know exactly what you're talking about, not.

To be fair, while you CAN accurately say that Samsung's current flagship has both best in class screen & camera, it is COMPLETELY honest to say that TouchWiz sucks, the resale value isn't as high, & that Google does mine your info... what exactly was incorrect about any of op's post??

Apple is the iPhone now. And this is how Timmy has ruined them.

If you take the "Apple without iOS" company, in other words the "Mac" company, they are making more revenue and more profit than ever. It's market share in the PC market has been growing and growing and growing. They are now among the top 5 in unit sales world wide, which they never were before. But if you look at profit, they are probably number 1 world wide.

3) There was a LOT of pent up demand last year for large screened iPhones. That pent up demand is all gone.
There is also a good amount of pent up demand for a smaller phone with all the features of the top-of-the-range phones, and the 5se is now filling that demand.

It's only going to get worse since they are releasing the 6ss. 3 year cycle for a new phone? You kidding me Apple? Hopefully this is a wake up call you cant just ship the same looking phone 3 years in a row when most have a new looking phone once a year atleast.

Wait, why did you get two phones? I never understood why people do that. To each their own I guess, and you must be rich.

Wrong. We pay the same monthly rate now as we did when we got $450 off the cost of the phone. You were right at some point, of course, but the day subsidies ended, my costs went up by $450 per line for every upgrade. Switching to one of the newer plans also doesn't reduce my cost (they're actually slightly more expensive).

No, you were always paying the full price for the phone (hence the two year contract). If you continued to use the same phone or bought one off contract, you were subsidizing AT&T with a little extra income.

Yes, your costs are going up now. AT&T (or Verizon) figured out that with the improving economy, you had an extra $450 they felt they were entitled to. Naturally, they are going after it.

It is simply unrealistic to think most people will have a honeymoon phase with Apple forever and ever. No empire lasted forever. Marriages or couples don't even last forever or even for a lifetime. It is fine for some here to be loyal to Apple for the last 30-40 years. But most of Apple's profits come from iPhone which isn't 10 years-old yet. Most fans are johnny-come-latelys. People like iJustine on YouTube who only saw iPods and has no clue what a Newton or Pippin were.

All companies not just Apple will lose their luster for people. Nothing stays on top forever. For every moment of ascend, there is always a descend too. I was watching 60 Minutes and they had a story of hacking phones. One of the hackers said all phones no matter what brand or OS is hackable. So if you think iOS is the safest, think again. WP is probably the leasted hacked because it is also the least popular.

Hackers are probably inside your iCloud account right now as I type this. Checking out all the nude selfies of female celebs. To me, not only is Apple no longer innovative seeming to only follow trends and recycle shells from three years ago, their proprietary software gives them limited reach globally when cross-platform apps will eventually take over. Why use iMessages when WhatsApp or Viber have greater reach?

And all this stuff about Apple v Samsung or iOS v Android, that is all fanboy talk. It is a BUSINESS STRATEGY by them. They want us to compare and contrast. They want us to deliberate. It is called PRODUCT DIFFERENTIATION. I practically own all brands and OSes, so I really could care which is the best one. Having them all is the best experience so you won't miss out on anything. Sucker for having to choose sides.

If Apple is under the impression that they can release a minorly updated 6S in late 2016 and make it a huge seller, they're sadly mistaken. If that's the case, I won't be upgrading from my 6 Plus anytime soon.

See, Apple has a tendency of being late to the party with new features, but when they finally arrive they're awesome. At least that's how it used to be. At this point Apple is moving from "fashionably late" territory to just plain rudely late to the party.

There's really nothing left to bring to the party. Then, the party will be over.
