What is your source that Apple has already produced 2 million watches? Who exactly at Apple expects everyone in the first wave to receive their watches on Friday? Some sales reps over the phone or chat? You do realize anyone that made those claims is totally speculating? The vast majority of those reps don't even work for Apple and are sub contracted not that it really makes a difference.

I know a higher level phone sales manager and he says they have been informed nothing except that the watches should arrive sometime in the 2 week window which is why they quoted it and haven't changed it. Makes sense right?

Some people will definitely get their watches on launch day but no one knows if everyone that ordered in the first wave will. You can make yourself believe everyone will but no one really knows at this point plain and simple. I hope we all do and those that are speculating end up being correct! If they are they didn't really know but guessed right.

I'm also sad to inform you Santa Clause isn't real :(

Maybe I'm just a gerk but hate to see some kids potentially heartbroken over all this.

There's always room for error.

However, here is the real problem...

Too many people are getting distressed that one, their order status hasn't changed and two, they don't think they are getting their watch even though they are in the first wave of orders.

Let me address #2...

People need to calm down and wait a day or two. Sometime between Monday-Wednesday (most likely Tuesday), you are going to get confirmation if your order status has changed. Until then, all the moaning about not getting a watch on launch day is senseless.

As for #1....

I don't know why Apple put a date range in their initial confirmation. However, 2 million plus watches is a lot of product. I believe, if I remember the numbers correctly, not even a million people ordered a watch here in the United States.

Maybe we should start debating all of this after Tuesday.

I already know from past experience that shipping doesn't usually show up until a few days before delivery which I have mentioned in this thread.

You haven't stated your source that Apple has produced 2 million watches and when was this?

I waste time on these posts but at least it's entertaining!

You are correct. Those of us that have extensive preorder experience know that preorders shipments don't get updated until week of shipment.

My source? Go backtrack on Cult of Mac, 9to5 Mac or even this forum. It's already been reported that Apple has 2 million watches produced and hopes to continue that level of production.

I'm surprised that you think everyone will definitely get their watch on launch day that ordered in the 1st wave even with the 2 week window since you know Apple hasn't done that in the past having extensive preorder experience.

Who at Apple are you speaking about that said they will all arrive on launch day? Please provide some links to the web articles you mentioned, thanks.

I agree that's late. I received my confirmation email at 3:04am ET (3mins after launch) and I'm apart of the 2nd wave(5/13-5-27)... Maybe it's depending on the type of watch purchased.

It's type of watch. I bought two different SS watches (a SS w/black sport band and a SS Milanese loop) at 12:06 and 12:07 Pacific and both are first wave.

Lots of people buying the Sport watches (especially the Space Gray) got pushed out to 2nd wave in less than 5 minutes due to the popularity of the Sport watches.

all you with your 4/24 ship date... lucky.

i ordered a space black sport and got a 5/20-6/1 ship window. ordered it within 3 minutes of the store opening. i guess there was a lot of demand... :(

I think they have already pre packed watches after the initial interest of certain combinations.

I ordered the 42 Blue Leather at 8.04am UK time and got a 4-6 weeks delivery window and ordered the 42 Milanese loop at 8.05am and got 24/04-08.05.

Yay they'll be here soon... Let's not get snippy over links and sources

Thank You. I have better things to do than pour over past articles.

Please trust me on this. Mac sites have already reported over 2 million produced and that is the amount they hope to keep producing over the next few months.

What size? I ordered a 42mm space grey black band. I'm not sure my exact order time but my email came in at 12:04 and I got in first date range. Pretty sure the email was pretty instant.

You seem to be confused with this:

https://www.macrumors.com/2015/04/15/apple-watch-2-3-million-pre-orders/

This is a prediction that there were 2.3 million pre orders with the prediction to produce that entire quantity by the end of May.

I suppose if you truly believe in your heart then anything can become reality. http://youtu.be/nlD9JYP8u5E

Yeah, it was a little harsh so I edited. Just don't understand why some people are just making stuff up in their mind and speaking like it's absolute truth. You have to admit it's pretty funny. Some people take stuff way too seriously.

macgeek,

No problem. We're cool! Thanks for editing that.

I am sitting here trying to find the article.

I was lucky to get into the first wave of delivery dates with my confirmation coming through at 0801 UK time. But this doesn't mean I will get it on the launch date (however sad this makes me) I will be sat waiting patiently for it to arrive and if it doesn't well there isn't a lot I can do bar cry.

That was not the article in question. Search back about a week.

...and argue about this on Tuesday if you don't see your status change

We may all receive them on Friday. My point is that no one knows for sure. Anyway sorry if I took it too far and was a dick. If you find proof to back up your different statements then I insist you clown on me and I will have a laugh at myself!

You are right. No argument. Nobody knows for certain.

But let me say this...

You are a class act, my friend. Most people wouldn't behave in the classy manner you just did.

I'll keep looking....

This is not the article, specifically. I know I read the estimated produced amount on cultofmac or 9to5mac.

However, this article tells you about Apple's initial production order...

http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2015/02/17/apple-orders-more-than-5-million-watches-for-initial-run/

Now mind you, they ran into manufacturing problems with the glass and haptic feedback motors. So that did reduce production. However, I don't think by*more than 3 million.

Don't go out of your way, we can just all keep our fingers crossed for Friday. Nothing wrong with positive thinking and I have believed it possible from the beginning.

agreed!

Just updated my post above with a link.

Talk to you next week and we will compare notes to see if both our watch preorders changed. Crossing my fingers with you.

This.

We've got a range, all we can do is wait and hope. Being early doesn't always mean being first when you don't know how many people ordered at the time :)

I hear ya, there's a lot of bum info floating around and it def gets annoying. I think it's safe to say 4/24-5/8 is the only confirmed info we have.

Everything else is just speculation at this point until orders update. Just gotta take it with a grain of salt until we start seeing updates
