Here in Toronto I've always had a date range on my preordered apple products and always received them on launch day

But to go back to my earlier point, are we really to believe that in the last 6 months since Tim Cook announced the Apple watch that they weren't producing them?

So many of you seem to assume apple started manufacturing on the 10th as pre-orders started. That's illogical, it's obvious they have been getting orders in for the past few months to make sure they are prepared.

I don't believe for one minute that apple didn't anticipate demand would be this high.

I think you're conflating manufacturing with configuration. I suspect that Apple's manufacturing partner has been manufacturing the cases and the strap suppliers making straps for awhile. The cases and straps would be held as WIP inventory. Upon demand, the watches would be configured together into the case/band combinations ordered and undergo final packaging.

To me this is a logical reason for the two week window. Say they can configure x watches in a day (assuming adequate supply of cases and bands- if tight inventory for the case/band you ordered, ship date range slips straight away) and they have y orders. Assuming y is a multiple of x, watches will be configured and shipped daily for several days (two weeks?) until that wave is over.

Any status change

If anyones status changes between Monday-Wednesday, Please let us know.... I am leaning towards our status to change from the range I just mentioned.
Good Luck All!

I hope so. I wonder if Apple will cancel my order / move it on over to the next person if I don't have enough funds in my bank account if / when they try to charge my card say overnight.

I don't get paid until Tuesday - I hope they don't charge until Tueday night haha. Would hate to forfeit my watch ..

Lol Geeze. Maybe an Apple watch is the last thing you should be buying if you have ZERO FUNDS in bank account to cover it. Why didn't you use a credit card?

Never judge...there are a lot of people that are rolling in cash but sacrifice a lot of fun in their lives for that. Each to their own.

In my opinion, as long as you can comfortably afford to pay some or all of it off of your credit card each month and not getting charged a stupid % of interest, then I don't see a problem with it.

If the guy is worried if funds will be in his account, he's not rolling in cash.

The poster's point was, I think, that broke people have more fun.

Haha! Thanks Gwynne! I was certainly saying its a big possibility! I live from pay to pay, yet am prioritising to buy a watch. I tend to live life like there is no tomorrow, and have a good time doing it! I'm sure there are plenty of cashed up people that have fun too, but unfortunately for me and the poster above, we're not one of them!

Haha..u can rest assured that as soon as a shipping status changes there will be 10 threads about it within milliseconds.

You are 100% correct

I think the problem...and the reason for the date range....and this has also been talked about on news sites...

Apple has so many configurations of watch size and band. They had no idea how many of each they were going to sell.

That is most likely the reason for the date range in preorders.

Still, very confident all orders will be filled.

That is a very good point, did not look at it from that perspective before, makes a whole lot of sense.

Let's hope anyways because this place is going to be a mausoleum if only a small percentage of people have shipment notifications on Thursday.

I will give u my credit card # to use if u promise to pay it off in 3 payments. Each time u get paid u send me 1/3rd of the total.

I echo this comment. I'm in Toronto too, and my iPhone 6 plus pre-order had the same thing. Ordered the minute the preorders went live and was given a date range, not an exact date, and did receive it day one.

I'd be surprised if all of our watches weren't in a local warehouse somewhere waiting until Thursday to ship

Good for you!

Doesn't the Apple Store app offer push notifications when the order status changes? Why keep checking back when it will notify you automatically?

I don't mind not getting an update email till end of the week, as long as my bank is charged sometime soon. So feels a little more secure. Soon as charged ill relax.
