We've got a range, all we can do is wait and hope. Being early doesn't always mean being first when you don't know how many people ordered at the time :)

We know that they have enough stock for that window. That's why we have that window ;)

You are right. No argument. Nobody knows for certain.

But let me say this...

You are a class act, my friend. Most people wouldn't behave in the classy manner you just did.

I'll keep looking....

----------

This is not the article, specifically. I know I read the estimated produced amount on cultofmac or 9to5mac.

However, this article tells you about Apple's initial production order...

http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2015/02/17/apple-orders-more-than-5-million-watches-for-initial-run/

Now mind you, they ran into manufacturing problems with the glass and haptic feedback motors. So that did reduce production. However, I don't think by*more than 3 million.

The problem is that these articles have no source to support the claims. The article you linked, is quite bad and really says nothing, just lazy journalism in my book.

About two weeks ago the major Mac sites reported predictions of at least 2 million watches ready to go, and Apple's anticipation of keeping that level of production throughout the year.

Take my word for it or not. Not trying to be nasty, but it's obvious on these boards you can't convince everyone.

That report from the WSG is misleading because they act like the production numbers Apple ordered that they quoted were definite when I don't see any sources noted. Apple would really be the only valid source and it didn't come from them.

Even if the numbers were accurate at the time we still don't know how many watches Apple has been able to make. It could very well be 2 million but only Apple can really say for sure. I just don't want people to confuse speculation with actual facts. Once again not trying to be pessimistic but somewhat realistic by realizing we really don't know LOL

I am okay with that, macgeek.

Just noticed on the Apple Website for Apple Watch Guided Tours, they have removed the grayed our area for an Apple Pay Guided Tour that was previously there. Could mean they ant launching Apple Pay straight away.

But to go back to my earlier point, are we really to believe that in the last 6 months since Tim Cook announced the Apple watch that they weren't producing them?

So many of you seem to assume apple started manufacturing on the 10th as pre-orders started. That's illogical, it's obvious they have been getting orders in for the past few months to make sure they are prepared.

I don't believe for one minute that apple didn't anticipate demand would be this high.

My point is that it's rumours. And you need to take these numbers with a pinch of salt. Even if they are circulated throughout the major Mac sites.

You are 100% correct

I think the problem...and the reason for the date range....and this has also been talked about on news sites...

Apple has so many configurations of watch size and band. They had no idea how many of each they were going to sell.

That is most likely the reason for the date range in preorders.

Still, very confident all orders will be filled.

I believe you were initially claiming a definite 24th delivery date for all first wave pre orders and 2 million manufactured. While both could be true they are speculation. I think your positive thinking got the best you. It's good to be positive but you can set yourself up making such claims without hard proof.

Hoping we'll all be receiving our watches on Friday and won't be dissapointed after getting to try them for an extended period of time. I have high hopes but a lot of confidence in Apple despite some luke warm reviews and complaints of slow 3rd party apps. I think Apple can ultimately still be innovative without Steve Jobs.

I have no doubt that they anticipated high demands and have been working on getting a very large volume for launch for some time. There have been reports of productions issues for some time. While this isn't verified it could explain the delivery window range. Even if it doesn't the simple fact they have the window for everyone which hasn't changed shows you can't be certain at this point if you're getting it on launch day. Heck even being quoted for launch day alone doesn't absolutely guarantee anything. Any way I'm beating a dead horse at this point. Hope we're all celebrating on Friday!

You are, but that's okay.

Let's call it a draw and wait till Tuesday/Wednesday.

We'll pick up where we left off.

Don't think there is a draw to be had but hope to see movement this week!

Damn, what am I doing up this late? It's 3:00AM. Going to suck when I have to wake up in a few hours, ha!

I agree that it sucks to be in the UK. I thought Apple Pay would be here by now, certainly in time for the launch of the watch. It would be so cool to pay with the watch, that would be one hell of a way to show it off

I feel like I've watched enough videos and had enough hands on time with the watch in the store, I know it inside out and don't need these.

Just want that bloomin watch on my wrist next Friday!!!

Pretty sure after a few hours I will be better at navigating it than the staff in the Apple store.
