Did you order to have one shipped @ ATT store?

Can the CSR do it or did a manager have to sign on.
I realize the manager had to FIND the process, but does a manager have to PERFORM. I may do this later today if my AT&T store gets 16gig blacks in.
Well, they already canceled one of the three 8gb orders they placed so I don't see why they couldn't get the last two
I went into my local AT&T store on Saturday morning to check for the 3G iPhone. They obviously had non, so I went ahead and signed up for the direct fulfillment. They said then that it could be 5-7 or 7-10 days, but that it will "probably be here sooner than that". I called them this morning and they didn't get any in today, but he said "Hopefully by Friday"...Didn't exactly fill me with confidence that I'd have it for this weekend, but I guess I've been having fun making ringtones, wallpapers, and downloading Apps in the meantime. Hopefully we ALL get our iPhones soon.
PS...He also said they're "only taking orders for direct fulfillment"...I guess they've gotten enough over the weekend that the entire next shipment or so will go directly to their direct fulfillment people...Like me.

I placed an order on Friday morning, and went back to the store on Saturday morning and canceled the order, no problem. If I check the status of the order online it shows it as being canceled. You can't cancel on the phone you have to go into a store to do it. Ask for a manager and he/she can cancel the order, guaranteed.
Good to know, the person I spoke to was adamant about it not being able to be cancelled. I figured if I raised enough of a stink it could be, but I'm fine with waiting a while for it.
The DF orders are not part of the store allogation. The DF orders don't come out of the AT&T store shipments when they get them. That store may receive 20 phones and they'll sell them to walk-ins. They don't go toward DFs.
Think of DFs like a purchase done online at ATT.com for pick-up at the store.

I ordered the 16 GB Black iPhone on Friday around 8:40 AM CDT...wait for it...
and I just received a TRACKING NUMBER via email.
Should be here Wednesday or Thursday!
Great news! I ordered about 2 hours later than you, I think, so hopefully I'll get a tracking number soon.
Which is why I am not happy with ATT. They told me that if I ordered through the DF that I would receive my phone before anyone else. That was the second lie they told me that day. They also told me the local Apple Stores were out of phones. They have both had phones the past 2 days.

That's good news that the 16GB blacks are shipping!
Everyone's has said back-ordered at one time. Several have reported the phone flipping back and forth between 1 and 0.
I think the back-ordered status means that one isn't allocated to that order. why it keeps flipping I don't know.
US v. UK charges
In the US, we pay for in-going & out-going - for both texts and calls.
In the UK, people only pay for out-going - for both texts and calls.
UK system seems more "fair" but we all wind up paying about the same.
Also, most of us in the US make more on a PPP basis. So no complaining!!!

Unless you know you can positively buy a phone from somewhere around you, I don't see why everyone is canceling their orders. If you ordered your phone Friday/Saturday, you'll most likely get your phone this week. You are guaranteed a phone and you pass it up to hunt one down on your own.
Does anyone know if the 1 million phones sold includes these AT&T orders if it just includes people who physically have their phones. It seems impressive that Apple could have 1 million phones available around the world on launch weekend!
That being said I really hate waiting for things and want my phone

Then that's not nearly as impressive. They really must have under estimated demand or wanted to create shortage for hype.

I canceled a Friday 8gig order and placed a 16gig order this morning. Still haven't received my acknowledgment email on the 16.
