Did you order to have one shipped @ ATT store?

I ordered two 16G whites on Friday at about 1:20pm EST. Online status has ping-ponged between "backordered" and "ordered" all weekend. One interesting note - when I ordered the phones on Friday (direct fulfillment) in the local store, I was going to order one black one white, but when he tried to put in the order for the Black, it immediately showed it as backordered, so I changed it to two whites.

As of a few minutes ago, I now show as one being shipped and one still waiting (the higher order number has already shipped, the lower hasn't!). I'm assuming that the other will show as shipped very shortly as well.

It left Fort Worth at 3:13pm and is due to arrive here by 3:00pm Tuesday!

where is here? just trying to get an idea of how long it will take once it ships... sounds like you're pretty close to fort worth
 
To those whose orders have shipped.. did yours went back and forth with the back-order 1-0?? I ordered mine yesterday (8GB)and every 4 hours it changes.. now i'm back to back-ordered
 
Yes, it goes back and forth every few hours. I'm in NC. Looks like they are shipping orders Standard Overnight FedEx - delivered next day by 3pm. I didn't pay extra for shipping (expedited or regular).
 
Order Status Doesnt Mean Anything

Well it means something but its not very accurage.

1st 16GB iPhone Order:
Order Status Page Update to Shipped: ~7:15AM PT
Tracking Info shows that the order was actually shipped and picked up by FedEx at 3:03AM

2nd 16GB iPhone Order
Order Status Page Update to Shipped: ~2:00PM PT
Tracking Info shows that the order was actually shipped and picked up by FedEx at 10:41AM


It looks like the order gets shipped then the tracking info gets updated.

I hope this makes you feel little better.
 
Mine just updated with shipping information. The order status said backordered all weekend and then all of a sudden switched to "shipped" about 10 mins ago. I live in Dallas and its shipping from Ft. Worth so I should have it tomorrow. :)

16gb White.

I think I'm going to ask for a refund on the 15 dollar charge for priority shipping. Fort Worth to Dallas isn't going to get here any faster for 15 dollars more.
 
I direct ordered a black 16gb at 10am on Friday. Mine still shows backordered:mad: The AT&T store told me it was guaranteed to be there in 5 days. TOTAL CROCK......

Not only that, but it seems like they are shipping them all out Standard Overnight. I didn't pay anything extra. My receipt says "Economy Freight", but it shipped overnight. It's nice of AT&T to give something back. I'm very excited.
 
trying despirately to find a pattern...

i would really like to know the method to all of this madness... mine like eveyone else's is flipping back and forth from backordered to not... driving me nuts!! I dont understand what the order is at all. Those that have shipped, what are your order numbers that are on the order status page... maybe it goes by that, although I find that highly unlikely since i ordered 10:30ish first day and im 4586, but who knows, im just trying to come up with SOME explanation...

Heres another one, is there ANYONE with a 16gb white one ordered friday that has not shipped since it seemed like those were the first to go? What about phones that were ordered saturday? any shipments???
 
AT&T on the phone told me there was no guarantee in any way. They were boosting sales. I bet you a cold drink that in the next few days people who had direct ordered the phone will not be getting it. Count yourself lucky if yours says shipped.

I don't think that's true at all, AT&T stores aren't getting any shipments in for 3-4 weeks according to the rep at my local store due to the amount of DF orders.

I was out of the store with an order at 10:30 am Friday and it says I am order number 62000 and change. I don't think that matters but if it does thats a crock. AT&T store guaranteed it and I bet it does not happen....

Mmmm, this is getting worrying.

Ordered 10:00am or so Friday 16gb Black and order number is 2712

Both freight and phone is back order (around 1pm the phone was not)
 
spartantex, are you sure thats the order number on the status page? that seems kinda large? Vacos makes more sense since it was before i placed mine and the order number is smaller... I dont know, just speculations... this is probably going to go nowhere, lol

I just hope i get it this week...

Well, now it's back to backordered again.
This is really ridiculous. How difficult is it to know your warehouse quantities?!?
 
Order number can't mean anything - I ordered at noonish on Saturday and mine is 58.

I think the poster who suggested that the switch from backorder to not on the phones indicates ATT's own stock is probably right. Mine is switching too. Maybe we should post the times to see if it switches for all of us at the same time?

At 4pm, mine was NOT backordered. By 6:30 it was backordered - and it still is. And I'm on Eastern time, US.
 
Okay, I've got what is probably a dumb question:

Is it completely impossible to get an iPhone from an AT&T store without doing direct fulfillment?

I've got a FAN #, but I'm really tempted to get it taken off temporarily so I can buy the phone from Apple (Short sighted, I admit). At first I was going to wait until sometime this week and stroll over to AT&T and buy one, but it looks like that won't be an option for some time, and I'm hearing 7-10 business days for DF. Should I just suck it up and do DF? :(
 
Mine just shipped. My order # is 8XXXX and I ordered about 11:30 CST Friday. It's been flipping between backordered and not all weekend long. In fact, it was listed as backordered until it listed as shipped. I'm in Arkansas and its scheduled to be here by 3 tomorrow. Shipping from Ft. Worth.

Apparently, they have upgraded shipping. I didn't pay extra. I got a white 16GB, if that helps anyone. It looks like saying its backordered really doesn't mean much. I also didn't get a single notification email ...

I placed an order for a white 16gb iPhone at 2:49pm EST and it is still reading backorder and I have not received any email regarding shipping. Even though I ordered it on Friday I didn't get the initial iCare email until 11:45 last night (Sunday).
