I'm not good at that type of thing. I can't decide if that'll be really lame or really suave. I'm leaning towards lame.

Well that's really depressing. But another Lynchburgian here (Lynchburger? I'm not sure what we're supposed to be called), no way!

We got there at 6am, and left when they got to us in line (about 7:30)and said they only had 8gb left. In talking to the store manager when we made the decision to leave and try our luck coming back later, he told us they only got 20 phones total in. We were numbers 20 and 21. We went back at noon and talked to the sales rep that we had done our credit check with last week and he said he would call us and let us know if any phones came in yesterday for sale today. Which we then found out they were not getting another shippment yesterday. So we just decided to go ahead and do the fullfillment. Can't say I really wanted to, but its done and over, and now we just wait.
 
I did the fullfillment option too since I did not want to waste another beautiful day on line. Got a email that it is out of stock now. :(
 
Just got a back ordered email this morning (EDT) for both an 8gb and black 16gb.
 
I called the manager of the AT&T store I ordered from yesterday to find out what was happening with these orders. I told him if it was going to take too long I wanted to cancel my order and I would drive 114 miles to the nearest Apple Store. He said he was going to look into canceling the order and he would call me back. He called back five minutes later and told me to hurry and come to the store that they got another shipment. I drove to the store and bought a white 16GB. He is canceling my original order, now I just have to hope that doesn't get screwed up.
 
I just got an email saying it'll ship in 5-7 days! backordered. wth? I paid extra money to get it in 3-5 days. I better get a refund on the shipping.

Why would you get a refund on the shipping... once it ships, you'll get the express shipping as opposed to ground. You didn't pay for "express service". I fell your pain, but you're getting what you paid for.
 
My husband & I stopped at an AT&T store last night around 6:00. There were only a few people in the store but there were no iPhones available. They said they got in 40. We went ahead & ordered two 8 Gig phones & were told 7 - 10 business days but neither of us has received an email. I've tried the status page using the suggestions for order number & store zip but it can't find the order. Guess I'll call the 866 number & try my luck there.

No. I was told that it would ARRIVE in 3-5 days, meaning I could pick it up within 3-5 days. Now it says it will ship in 5-7 days plus actual 3-5 day shipping time. That's not what I paid for.
 
If you're a corporation with a Premier account, you can order them today with 24 hour overnight shipping free with no activation:D:D And, can also order up to 5 iPhone 3Gs. I did. Ordered them Friday morning, processed and shipped today. 5 16gb 3G iPhones coming to my office Monday morning via Fed Ex.

I was credited back my priority shipping today automantiaclly because they cant promise that they will be able to get them to us within under 5 days.
 
I called the 866 number & the automated system can't find the order either. I'll start raising hell Monday if nothing has happened by then. I'm very disappointed that the shipments aren't being given to those who have ordered. In other words, if you place an order, your shipment will come from some stock that is separate from the stock the store will get. It is a business thing, I know, but it sucks nonetheless. I'm still shocked that AT&T was given so few phones. 40 seems to be the common amount. I don't understand that business logic at all.

Be sure to use your at&t store's zip code + last 5 digits of your actual order number.
 
Yes, usually Premier business customers have access to phones first that generally arent released to the general ATT customer pool. As a business corporation, small business at that, with 50+ employees, we definitely earn and pay for that Perk. Only exception was the 3G iPhone, we couldnt even order it Thursday, even though Premier had them in stock. They wouldnt release them until Friday at 8am. Once released, I ordered 5 for my physician partners. Order was processed, and shipped today. Fed ex delivery Monday. So, yes, Premier online stock is different than general stock. I suppose as you said, "its a business thing" Im waiting just as you all are. Good luck. Good things come to those who wait.:D
 
I thought 40 phones per store was a joke until I went to two stores today and they only received 20 for the launch yesterday and didn't receive any today. That is unreal, especially when one of those stores had 150 people waiting outside at 8am yesterday.

Not well done at all.
 
In Baton Rouge, La., the largest Corporate ATT store received only 67 iPhones. The line well had over 200 people. And this is a city with a popluation of metro 650,000 people. So, yes. I agree. ATT, not well done. Of course, we have a newly opened Apple Store and they received over 800 iphones. The line was still going at 8pm that night when I passed by.

Being a Premier Member doesnt necessarily mean you get first dibs at the new equipment. Often times, the equipment doesnt eveb show up on the Premier site until about a week after its released to the general public.

More than likely you have a Business Account center that handles the phone orders, billing inquiries and questions for your business and many other businesses alike.

Being a premier member simply means that you work for a company or affiliated with a school or organization that allows you to take advantage of special discounts because your company has agreed to certain terms.

If Premier was the way to order the iPhone over the phone, I would have done it since I'm a premier member.

You are correct in that good things come to those who wait but waiting is the tough part.

yea nothing is working for me..... I called automataed number.... No luck..... Called 3 Different AT&T Customer Support... All 3 said they couldn't tell me anything call the store.... Grrr
