First person at my AT&T store this morning. Pre-ordered my 16gb black phone. Manager said he should have it by monday -- but worse case scenario friday

call 800-331-0500 and talk to a rep. They should be able to look up your order details for you.

Yea accept they said they saw nothing even tho I have receipts and I called automated, talked to 3 ppl at the number above, and checked that site... Nothing

I called that number. It could not find my order so you press 0 to get someone -- it says it can't do that for now & then says to CALL THE SAME NUMBER. Sure am glad I am not an AT&T employee right now :).

I found an old number to the fulfillment center so I will let you guys know what I find out. I doubt this number will work but I wanted to give it a try.
 
i tried looking up my order status and it is not working, but maybe because it has not been a full 24 hours yet?
 
I called the store where I placed the order. He tried using the website, no luck. But he said he was able to see the order as Pending in his system. I told him my concern was that the order had not yet been sent to the fulfillment center & I was going to have to wait weeks to get the phone. He was very nice -- no, no, it won't take that long -- but it is obvious the sales people really don't know.
 
Back order!?! My e-mail from AT&T says that they're all out of stock.

The order status web page just gives me an exception notice because it hasn't been 24 hours yet.

I wonder how long it will take to replenish this stock.
 
Will we be able to cancel our orders? I live within a few hours of an Apple store, so if the lines calm down and they are in stock and I haven't received my phone, I'd like be able to cancel.

The lady I placed my order with said it could not be canceled, but she didn't seem very informed.

I feel like as long as it hasn't shipped I should be entitled to cancel my order.
 
I'm considering placing a direct fulfillment order from AT&T this afternoon. However, one rep I talked to said it would take "a couple of weeks" to arrive, and another said it would take 7-10 days from the time it arrived at the warehouse. I asked how long it would take to arrive at the warehouse, and he had no idea.

Has anybody else gotten a vibe that it's going to take a few weeks for a phone ordered through AT&T to arrive?
 
I called AT&T today and was able to talk to a representative who found both my orders (2 Black 16Gb). She said I can't track them through the website because I ordered them at an AT&T store. She said that both orders are shown as in progress and that they are supposed to reach the store where I ordered them tomorrow (7/13). I am not sure what exactly is going on after reading everyones' comments here, but what seems to be apparent is that there may not be a clear policy regarding direct fulfillment orders.
 
I couldn't find my order through the website because I was putting MY zip code as opposed to THE STORE'S zip code. Once that was fixed, putting the contact phone number you gave at the store and the correct zip code should show you the order. (The order numbers don't start with any letters... and are usually less than 7 characters long; mine is 6.) I don't think that you can't track an order if you purchased at the store... My guess is that they use a centralized system to track stock, otherwise it would be a massive mess.

Look for the AT&T Store ZIP Code before trying again the search!

Did you place your order at the store? I'm guessing not & maybe that is why you have a different order number. Mine starts with two letters & is actually the store number followed by 3 other digits. If I leave off the two letters, I get 5 digits.

Example: Order ID is HJ05432 And the HJ05 is the store number.

My order number does not look like that. Its 7 characters, but starts with a number, 3 letters, then 3 numbers. I was able to see it online within 4 hours after I ordered it at a store. Where else could you order it?
My current status says the phone is NOT backordered, but the freight is. What does that mean?

I wonder if expedited means anything if they're sending a bunch from the warehouse to the store. I have a FAN discount, but I didn't try to apply it to this order because I didn't think it would make a difference. Does it?
 
What I have is a receipt from the AT&T store's cash register that says DIRECT FULFILLMENT ORDER CONFIRMATION SUMMARY & has my name, mobile phone, the iPhone & amount & free shipping (because I did not know I could ask for expedited shipping). Below all that with the amount due, etc. is an Order ID in the format I posted a few minutes ago & the Ship To of the store. I don't have any 7 digit number. Is this the kind of receipt your order number is on?

I just rechecked my order status and my back ordered iPhone was just changed. There used to be a 1 in front of the FRT and the Phone but now there is a 0 in front of the phone. Is this good news I guess? I never got an email yet tho? :confused:

I actually did... once the page with the order status came up I was able to see that the order number didn't have any letters and was only numbers. I guess not all of them are numbers but some sort of mix....

I was able to cancel my order. Last night it showed the freight as back ordered and the phone as in stock. The manager of the store I ordered from told me they received more phones so I just went into the store and bought one. He was able to cancel my order and it shows the order as being canceled when I check the status online. The only way to cancel is in the store where you purchased the phone.

Maybe not, because all day Friday, mine said the iPhone backorder was "0" and the freight backorder was "1," but as of today both were at "1."

So if they did have it available to ship to me on Friday, they changed their mind.
 
The order number of the direct fulfillment order I placed doesn't seem to be working on the order update page. I have no idea why. I'll just wait until monday to start raising a stink (they don't ship anything on saturday or sunday )...anyone have any ideas as to why it doesn't work?

Yes, don't enter YOUR zip code... enter the zip code of the STORE you bought it from. Works like a charm.
