Did you order to have one shipped @ ATT store?

hmmm... was this your first email from them? when did you order? I ordered Friday about 1pm and got 2 emails since. One on Fri. night that it's been ordered. Sat. an email that it's backordered. This morning the backorder was removed, then put on backorder again tonight.:(

I ordered my 16gb white at the store on Friday, about 745PM. The same thing happened on my order status page as well.

Reading other posts of people going borderline hostile make me laugh. It'll come. Chill out.

I'm not going to sweat it. It'll be here. My life will go on.

I got the backordered email first . It said usually shipped in 2 to 3 days. I placed the order Saturday morning. I received the second email today at 6pm saying that it was ordered and I will be sent a shipped email soon.
 
Okay, so there are two Apple stores within 20 minutes of my house that both have phones available. Can I cancel my DF order with ATT and just buy one there?

According to the Apple Store employee I talked to today, you can't buy an iPhone from them if you have a DF order from AT&T.

Maybe it's fine if you cancel the DF order first. I didn't get specifics.

Maybe you have to buy the phone from an AT&T store if they have them in stock.

My AT&T rep told me I could cancel the order at any time since they would have NO trouble selling it... so if you feel like you don't want one then I would say to just go do that

I went ahead and ordered it so that if I don't get one by camping out sometime this week that I would just go and cancel my order if I do.
 
I still never got any emails yet from anyone about my phone. They change the status from not back ordered to backordered everyday and mess with my head. Should i be concerned about not receiving any emails?? this is starting to drive me nuts. I don't understand how orders are coming in and people can walk up today and just buy one while we are sitting back waiting. The only reason I ordered mine was because I thought it was the next time they would be getting in a shipment which would then be given to us (the people that waited hours in line to find out they were all sold out. Damn, least I know next time to just wait till the next couple days. This might be a waste of our time. What do you think?

just relax. we should know something by tomorrow and I wouldnt worry too much about them emails.
 
The whole point of doing a direct fill is so you don's have to worry about running from store to store looking for a phone. You have placed a order and when you phone arrives to the store they will call you. This does not mean that they are not going to get normal stock deliveries and sell them to people who are holding out and running around looking for the phone. Sit back relax you have an order and It will arrive all in due time. I can only imagine that they have a good 20,000 + orders to fill. I wish I was patient enough to do direct fill instead of wasting my time getting the run around looking for a phone.
 
I ordered mine Sunday afternoon and I was told I would have it by Thursday. After reading this forum idk if the rep was misinformed or what.

I actually hope you are correct and receive yours by Thursday. I ordered mine on Saturday afternoon so I would probably get mine around the same time. :)
 
Well, I can tell you that if it doesn't get here by mon or tues im going to ask for my $30 bucks back for priority shipping. why didnt I go to the apple store instead?:(
 
Well, my bro stood in line at Apple Store Arden Fair today and got himself a white one...


After he got that and Apple Store ran out, we decided to head out to the ATT store again.


We ended up direct fulfill 3 more iPhone 3G Black 16gb tonight at the upgrade price somehow...

Have no clue on shipping times.
 
I guess at the very least, I'm lucky that the AT&T store gave me priority shipping and waved the cost.

FaustArp I'm right there with you on your posts up until this one. But I'm hoping.

I've only received the initial email about my order, no other emails. My phone (backorder) flipped from a 1 to a 0 and back to a 1 sometime this afternoon.
So I'm hoping my story continues like yours and I'm hoping and refreshing my status window.
 
Anyone know where they're shipping from? That would help gauge travel time for a regular freight shipment.

I didn't know to ask about express shipping and the rep didn't ask me. -Don't think she knew either.
 
This thread surprises me but doesn't.

Girlfriend went and tried to get one and ended up ordering one and was told 3 days. I was incredibly doubtful about that and tomorrow will be Day 3
