Did you order to have one shipped @ ATT store?

Does anyone know if there is a delay between the reporting and the actual shipping. I thought I saw somewhere someone said 6 hours behind. I'm just too lazy to search :rolleyes:
 
16GB White ordered 1050am Central on Monday the 28th.

Was shipped this afternoon, will have it tomorrow afternoon! That's quick!

AT&T assigned a Captcha system to their order status script to defeat the page, the only problem is that they pay the wrong people. If AT&T is listening let me give you a little insight onto the two major flaws of their idea.

Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart or better known as CAPTCHA, (clearly someone who was extremely over paid came up with this obnoxiously long acronym) was designed to filter out artificial intelligence from performing a function and allowing a human to pass through to complete an objective, like submitting a form, or an order check in this case. I’m curious to know who in the depths of AT&T’s corporate bat cave suggested “Hey, let’s put Captcha on the form to stop these shenanigans!” I only ask because they clearly never through to address what exactly they were trying to do in the first place since this script is designed to interface with humans and not artificial intelligence.

Even if the script was to use artificial intelligence to gather the information than I guess we would be completely foiled, except for the fact that CAPTCHA was defeated years agoand the source code for these bots is available freely for “educational” purposes throughout the internet.

Which in my opinion makes this person over paid and useless in my book. If AT&T really wanted this to stop there is only one way to do it and the only way they are ever going to find out, sure of hiring a better staff is to email me and ask themselves..or they could call me on my iPhone.

So if mine says i am #13, that means I am 13th in line right?

btw, i just did the simple one where i type in my order # and zip code and said show 40 others.
 
Hey everyone. So i placed my order for direct fullfillment this past Saturday, but it is now wednesday evening and my order number is still not recognized when I go to check on it at ATT.com. I thought it would take up to 24 hours to be entered, not 96. Has this happened to anyone else?

Do the regular one and start with an order # at least 50 in front of yours. That way you will see that a bunch of them that were ordered a lot earlier than yours have shipped and you will know who really is #1.

Also, your # might not be right if there are order #'s in front of you are are showing up as "Order # not found". So hit refresh until there aren't any of those.
 
Picked mine up today about noon!

Ordered it on the 26th, received shipping confirmation on the 29th, arrived today.

I'm happy. :)

I'm assuming you got the white one? Everyone seems to not like the white one but the only reason I didn't get the white is because it's more expensive. If they had offered it in 8gb then I would have gotten it just because it would have come quicker.
 
I just checked my status and i'm still #6 and no iphones have shipped today although im still 0 on the backorder column my guess is the AT&T warehouse must be still shipping as i see people from the 19th at my store still havent shipped.

Yes, white. I actually preferred it as a way to differentiate.

About 24 hours w/ a 0 on the backorder and still no signs of any shipments... Anyone else order theirs from the Lenox Rd. location in Atlanta???
 
OK, I'm signing off this thread soon, but I just wanted to thank zinc and everyone involved for being a great support group for what ended up being an unexpectedly tedious waiting period. So far the new iPhone is exceeding my expectations, particularly with call quality in my home... I'm 100% cellular, no land line, and my Verizon service at home was often quite sketchy.

Summary for those interested:

Ordered 16GB black on 7/16
Shipped on 7/29
Order status wasn't updated until 4:15 am on 7/30
Got phone today at AT&T store and the in-store process was remarkably quick and painless.
Yippee!

May you all get your phones quickly!! :D

Hope to say the same for myself this time tomorrow :)
 
Went to the Menlo Park Apple store today...there were 4 people online and they had 1 guy working with iPhones. My dad was in a rush so went in and asked the guys why nobody was helping anybody...walked out of the store 10 minutes later with a 16GB Black....finally got one!

Congrats on your iphone, i'm still waiting on my DF order i'm now back on the backorder list, maybe i should get over to an Apple store and cancel my order with AT&T seems all of these DF orders for the black 16GB are taking forever to ship.
 
Got mine!

Ordered my white 3G on 7/25 and picked it up today 7/30 :D I'm still having fun playing with it and don't see any yellow tint problem
 
Same to you yadmonkey! I'm typing this on my new iPhone, which I picked up after work. The only problem that I had was that my phone didn't want to finalize the contract call so I had to do it when my wife got home. Good luck to everyone. My info:

Shipped 7/29
Arrived 7/30 @ 10:30 am

It didn't take that long but it felt like it. Now I'm off to enjoy my iPhone!
