i ordered mine on the 26th

quick question: i try to put my order number in on the att website and nothing ever shows up. Is it not going to show up on the att status tracker untill its shipped or why is nothing showing up?

the order number is the order ID on the receipt right?

im just anxious
i want my phone now!! lol

on the e-mail i have, it is a five digit number following, Order Number. You should be able to view it before it ships.

Quick question, if I bought the iPhone 3G in store last week and checked online to see the shipment status and FedEx says that the store received it 2 days ago but I still haven't gotten a call even after calling them 3 times, should I not waste time on it and just wait like a regular human being?

Nope, I'd go right to the store and claim it. They're the ones who gave you the ability to track it (even sent you an email with how to do it). Just go.

Heavens, no, just print out that screen showing it was delivered and have them get you your phone!!!

I talked with the store that I ordered from and asked about the different rumors about waiting until your rep is there before they will activate, etc, and they said nope, once it is here, just come on in and they could hook me up!!

I hope yours goes out today! The wait wasn't horrible, but just knowing I could have gone to an Apple Store if I did not have a discount on my account was kinda tough. I am looking forward to seeing what it will do!!!

Are the black 16G phones still in low supply? I've been at number two for like three days while at least 40 who ordered after me have gotten their phones. I realize there are quite a few of those that are white and a guess a few that are 8G, but I can't help but think there are some people who've gotten a 16G after I ordered. This whole process has been quite frustrating and I'm sure you've all been there, but I just needed to vent.

Well I am heading today to cancel mine. I've been waiting for two weeks and they've skipped me and are shipping everyone after me. Like I said in earlier posts they are shipping everyone who ordered 2 days after me. Yesterday they shipped another 15 phones and I was not one of them. My store is having an average of 15 shipped per day. i am number one in the que but still no luck. ATT told me it could be another 21 days- so I will just cancel. Good luck to everyone.

Ordered a 16GB Black.

This morning i noticed i moved up to #5 in line after being #6 for 3 days only 1 iphone was shipped to my store yesterday a very slow process i'm considering cancelling also and just going to an Apple store and take my chances of getting an iphone i just dont want to be charged twice or wait in line at Apple and they tell me i cant purchase the iphone at the upgraded price because they would still show the one on order through AT&T.
 
Yeah I find it hard to believe ALL the people that have gotten their phones and ordered AFTER me got either the white or a 8G. It's getting a little out of control. Especially when you know the only difference between the white and the black is a piece of plastic (which is pretty crappy from what I hear). Why don't they up the production of the black and decrease the production of the white? I guess that makes sense and we can't have that now can we?

I agree. I find it hard to believe that I am the only one who ordered a 16GB Black. I am #1 in the que and have been for a few days. Its just frustrating and what makes it worse is that it seems that nobody at ATT has any idea of what's going on. They are usually shocked when I tell them "what I know". In addition, it seems like ATT only hires these wannabe frat boys or dumb girls to work at their stores. I rarely see anyone over the age of 20 years old and they are all useless and fit the "stereotypical" customer service rep you see in the movies.
The guy helping me just thought he is "so cool" I dont know how else to explain it but I had to do everything I could to keep from reaching over the counter and slapping him like the b*tch he was. He was that stereotypical rich white suburban kid dressed like pete wentz from fall out boy. makes me sick, but I guess that statement is more appropriate in a different forum. Either way- the process as a whole is very frustrating and I am now hearing that the ATT Stores are having their DF orders filled based on their sales. Those stores with higher sales have their DF orders filled first.

I hear you. The guy that is number one on our queue ordered his on the 16th. There for a little while I just assumed he ordered a totally different phone, but I'm starting to think he's waiting on a black 16 just like I am. Our store is the only one in this area which is a pretty big college town. They do a lot of business and have been shipping out at least 6-10 phones a day. Again I find it hard to believe they are only whites and 8Gs.

OK, I've got to admit to being very pleasantly surprised. I ordered mine (White 16GB) around 6pm Monday evening (July 28) and it was shipped out last night with it on-time to be delivered before 3pm this afternoon (July 31). When I ordered it they told me they were supposed to be getting in white 16GBs in less than 72 hours so I took the chance (I will be leaving for 3 weeks tomorrow), so it looks like believing them paid off!
 
Just doing a quick count of the phones that shipped yesterday, 13 were shipped to my store with 10 of those being orders placed after mine. Now I find it hard to believe that none of those 10 that shipped were black 16Gs. Anyone else seeing this at their stores?

Exact same thing with me. They have been filling orders for people that ordered their phones up to 2 days after I ordered mine. A call to AT&T only fueled my frustration due to their lack of information, or even basic understanding of how "Direct Fulfillment" worked (or was supposed to work).
For those who are interested, I ordered 2X Black 16GB on 7/19.

I just wish they would let us know something regarding the delay. I realize it hasn't been the full 10-21 days, but when they start filling orders for people further back on the list, it just gets aggrivating...

I ordered a black 16GB on Sunday. ATT didn't show the order on line until this morning, but it looks like I am #10 in the queue. Thanks to users on this site for the link to the queue! Not sure if it makes the wait easier or harder, but at least checking status give me something to do while I wait!

When I ordered my phone and asked about the different models, I was told that they had been told they'd get white ones (16GB) within 72 hours but that they had no idea how long it would take to get either black model... so if all of the stores are in the same situation, I wouldn't be that surprised if the other people whose phones you're seeing shipped are white ones...

lol...Of course not...way too logical, besides, it wouldn't be fair to those waiting for white ones to wait more than 2 or 3 days...

I wouldn't be that surprised if the other people whose phones you're seeing shipped are white ones...

The ones I was counting were those that took at least 10 days to ship. There were at least 6 that only took about 2 days to ship. Those are the white ones. I have noticed though that none have shipped today. I know I'll get it eventually, its just hard to wait when you know there are people that ordered after you which have received theirs. Of course I have NO proof of that, but the chances are pretty good.
