I went to the "other providers" section, and didn't see the option. I'll try again in case I missed it, unless for some reason ABC blocks me because my activation code shows I'm not in an ABC owned and operated market....
Ah, this would make sense. If they don't have the rights in your market, they are probably not allowed to authenticate the ABC app either.

I still think he should be able to authenticate or at least see DIRECT Now in the "other providers" area. The main reason is because you do not enter your credentials (which would indicate authorization) until AFTER you find the provider. I think maybe just missed it.

I just checked the VUE Web Site and the cheapest is $39.99 (discounted from $44.99). And you only get 45+ Channels.
Also, HBO and Cinemax are both $15 each.
Also, not sure if they give away an Apple TV (or other bundle).

I do see the DVR as helpful and CBS as helpful but at this point the VUE does not even come close to the deal with NOW.

I am getting a $35 grandfathered price for 100+ channels. And HBO and Cinemax are only $5 each at this time. And I get a FREE Apple TV for a paying 3 months in advance.

Also, since I was already paying $15 for HBO Now my net cost is only $25 more then I was paying before.

You must be in a city that gets all the local channels then. For 95% of viewers, it starts at $29. For those who get ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX streaming live, it goes up 10 bucks.

They do not give away an Apple TV or anything like that. How in the world DTV Now got HBO and Cinemax for $5 is beyond me. No other service offers that.

At&t is trying to buy Time Warner (not the cable/internet provider) which owns HBO and Cinemax so the two companies are probably "co-operating" on the deal

Service is worse than when it first launched. I am lucky to get a station to play more than 5 minutes before the freaking freeze frame and freaking QP1502 error.

Still having streaming issues. Regardless of what channel I have it on, it freezes every few mins. After that I get a screen saying channel not available try again later. As a comparison I have had the same channel streaming on my other tv on Vue service. No issues with Vue. So I know it isn't my internet connection. Seems like it is the Apple TV Directvnow app.

As an aside also, last night I tried streaming both the same channel on my iPad and on the Apple TV Directvnow now app. And my iPad had no issues. But the Apple TV had nothing but issues the whole night. If this keeps up the next few days, I will test Directvnow on my firestick to see if there is an improvement using the fire stick on my tv.

Like others I encountered the first day problems like saying too many channels when only one was running ect. Then they sorta went away. Now I am noticing the prime time glitches you all mention here as well. But a bit more than your experiment with the Apple TV (my old 64 GB 4, not the 32 they sent me which arrived after just week). I was watching HBO Westworld (now gone thru 1-9 episodes) on my iPad Pro. My wife started her Hallmark Channel and tons of freezes that required me to go out every 5 minutes or so to menu and back. However I finished my HBO episode on the iPad and have not been running it for 30 minutes and all the glitches ended for the Apple TV 4 and Hallmark Channel. So even though this is supposed to be 2 channels if I am running two the load on one causes the Apple TV to hiccup as you all have observed. The iPad keeps going it is the apple TV that seems to have issues with server/streaming on my Comcast internet. I did a speed test and Comcast is running full speed for me so I am not sure what the conflict between the apple TV and my iPad is but it seems to only occur when I try to use both. Still the cheapest TV option to watch what I want and my wife so will put up with it for now. Hope they get the app on apple tv improved.

I do get more issues from the Apple TV app than any other device I use. Including my Amazon fire tv. And I have noticed more messages come on my screen when I try to do two streams at one time, but nothing when just streaming one at a time. I also notice less errors when forcing the device to stream at 720p.

For those having issues with the Apple TV app, are you guys on wifi or are you guys using a wired connection?

Wired on one Apple TV, WiFi on another. Internet connection is 200mbps but usually tests at about 220. I'm getting that speed on the wifi Apple TV, and obviously about half on the wired due to the Ethernet port on Apple TV only supporting 100mbps. I've never streamed to both at the same time. I have the image freezes (with audio continuing) on both machines.

I am wired. Yesterday had a couple freeze ups while watching. Swiped back and forth between channels and got a better connection again.

Yesterday was definitely the worst day since launch. Unwatchable on the East Coast for most of the day. Seemed to clear up a bit later in the day.

Well that's it for me then. I can watch this on the FS1 app using my FiOS login. But no login for DTVN and it isn't available on the app and blacked out NFL Games is a no go. Live sports is the main reason to sign up for this if i can cancel my regualr cable. But if i can't do that, it doesnt work for me.

I'm on WiFi and have had zero issues since the day 1 problems.. My streams have been rock solid and no issues to speak of at the moment..

This happened to me last week when I tried to watch Sunday night football away from home on my iPhone

I saw some of the issues others were having on Friday night. Was tuned to BBC America and after a little while, it stopped with an error. The CW app was having issues of its own, but unrelated to DTV.

Otherwise, only a few glitches (artifacts) in some programs I've watched, and one false error 60 right after I fired up the ATV having not quit the app when I shut the TV off the last time. Quit the app and restarted and it was fine.

Surprisingly, the 5GHz signal between my router and the ATV is quite good. When I first set up the ATV, it wouldn't connect to anything using the 2.4GHz network.

I think issues can stem from the peering quality of your internet provider. I'm on the U-verse backbone resold by another ISP, and connectivity has been quite good. But I have noticed in the normal course of usage that connection speeds to foreign servers can be compromised, and magically go away when I switch to a VPN that's not part of AT&T's IP block. I doubt there's any throttling, just poor connectivity.

DTV has worked well enough for me to dump my cable service.

I hope things can only improve (CBS, NBC on ATV, DVR, profile support, etc.)

Yeah but I'm home in NYC. I can get all the local channels usually but FOX NFL games seem to be blacked out, which is a shame. Perhaps they'll have it fixed by the end of my 3-month period, though that's unlikely as these are multi-year contracts. Otherwise, thanks for the $50 discount on the Apple TV.
