Apple should have teamed up with Disney from getgo. I don’t understand why they went separate ways considering their relationship.

We gave up all linear TV 5 years ago, and went all streaming.

At the moment we subscribe to Netflix, HBO Nordic, Amazon Prime, Viaplay, and Sumo; which is maybe a bit too many.

I can see us kicking (at least) Viaplay to get Disney+, but not sure if we'll keep Apple TV+ after the free trial.

At this point, you'd probably save money by getting cable.

Disney won’t have any original content for quite awhile. I’m seeing 2020 or even 2021 or some of these announced shows. The existing catalog? No interest. I own what marvel or Star Wars movies I liked. I’m thinking 6.99 is too expensive for what you get in the short term. Others I guess grew up on Disney and seem taken with it (I didn’t and don’t care really).
I somewhat agree. Don't quite get the excitement over Disney+. It seems they'll have mostly old stuff (that you either have already seen or no interest in) and a small amount of new original content initially. The trailer for The Mandalorian looks very promising though.

Bull****. Even at 10 percent owned, they demolish the competition in original content. To claim they're scared of Disney is hilarious. Disney is all cartoons, comic books and Star Wars. That's fine for kids, but adults will always demand more than that crap, and they won't get it from Disney+.

Except it’s not just Disney. Atv+ and Disney equals a Netflix subscription. Netflix should be scared.

Netflix’s owned content is just a handful of shows that mostly suck besides stranger things. Most of Netflix’s top 10 will never be seen again on Netflix.

To be honest I doubt Netflix will be around in 5 years. Enjoy it while it lasts. It’s library will start shrinking soon enough.

I'll wait a couple of years to see if Disney does a Gillette and backs off of the wokeness. Otherwise, I'm good. Until then, I'll just buy the DVDs of the tvs/movies that I like.

Narcos is one of the best Netflix originals. Highly recommended!

Money wise probably true but those subscription services has far more interesting contents than 200+ cable for me. I think cable will die out in a long run due to its own weight of high price and boring contents in outdated serving platform. I have cable and barely watched any other than some live sports.

Sad part is that the cable is being replaced by essentially the same subscription services with a few good contents buried in mountain of garbage contents that I have to pay for all.

By the end of the first year, the price will jump to $9.99, then eventually settle at $13-15 per month. Enjoy the $6.99 price and view as much as you can in the first year because it won't last forever.

Does anyone know if Disney has said if their streaming will include Dolby Atmos support? That would be a deciding factor for me if I would switch to their streaming service and finally drop Netflix Blu-Ray service. Most of their Blu-ray Discs are the "dumbed-down" audio and rarely include Atmos.

Hopefully AppleTV+ will support Atmos...

Unlike Apple, Disney rewards fans with Disney+ that works out to $3.92/month for a three-year subscription that cost $140.97.

Disney is offering a big discount to super fans. D23 fan-club members and people attending the D23 conference will be able to sign up for a "Founders Circle" offer that cuts $23 off the annual price if you commit to a three-year subscription. That works out to be $140.97 total, or the equivalent of $3.92 a month. The offer is available to D23 expo attendees physically at the event that runs Aug. 23 through Aug. 25, and it will be extended online until Sept. 2 for D23 fan-club members.

Sounds amazing. My whole childhood and recent high budget releases in one 6.99 $ package? I am sold!

Apple who?

internationally their streaming rights are all over the place. Netflix, Sky, Prime you name it.
U plan on paying Disney to keep reliving your childhood? How many times can u watch that stuff?

Who is the smartest guy on the Apple Board ?

Yep, you guessed it correctly, Bob Iger, Chairman & CEO of The Walt Disney Company !

When Cook gets ousted by the Board (a certainty, but timing is UN-known), I predict Iger will be asked to fill the CEO role on a Temp basis, perhaps 3-6 months.

Apple's next long-term CEO will come from the OUTSIDE !

$6.99 so your kids can watch Disney crap. $9.99/mo so you can watch adult crap on Apple TV+. Then another $13/mo for Netflix so you can watch everybody else's crap. What's next? Is every god damn content provider going to set up their own streaming service now?

Death by a thousand cuts.
