Huh, thought mine didn't (other than the camera element) but...

...took the case off and with the right amount of angle and shaking speed, sure I can hear a faint ticking of the metal power button moving.

I can see how hard mounting a naked iPhone to the dash of your performance car would cause the noise noted in the video.

As for getting it replaced? No. Not me. I always use cases, and since I didn't notice the noise until I tested the iPhone naked and in just the right way, I don't see the point personally. But I know plenty of OCD folks who I WONT be showing the test too though. :)

I'll just use a case like I always have. Especially if I'm going to hard-mount my phone to the dash of a hard vibrating sportscar for video shooting.

Oh yeah, silver 32GB 5s.

Production week: 39 (October)

well, ok then.......I guess.

But we do have other holidays, like Midsummer between June and July. So we decorate a thin log with birch leaves and flowers (everyone wears such wreaths) and make a massive ring around it and sing and dance to the songs such as "Små grodorna", "Little frogs", and then jump like a frog. Yes, this is both funny and weird. :D This tradition was originally made by Vikings for over 1000 years ago, believe it or not.

At the evening many (and I mean many) gets drunk, cruising around in old American cars (we have MANY of these here too) and that's it. :)

Sorry for off topic.

I have an iPhone 5. Same design as iPhone 5s.
Nothing is rattling here. The power button is as firm as it can be.

And the rattle-discussion rages on! :D Will call to morrow one last time (out of two) Swedish Apple Care to see if they understand that this rattle is real. ;)

I tried this earlier mine had a little bit of a rattle then I held the power button and it stopped. So no rattle here.

It must have something to do with temperature.
Today it was remarkably cold outside, and my iPhone started rattling as soon as I woke him up.

Should it wear a scarf? Suggestions anyone?

When the temperature is low, it could happen. Thermal expansion is the reason.

That's odd because mine is 45:

Nice Name: iPhone 5s
Family name:
Group1: iPhone
Group2:
Generation:
CPU speed: 1.3GHz
Screen size: 4 inch
Screen resolution: 1136x640 pixels
Colour: Gold
Production year: 2013
Production week: 45 (November)
Model introduced: 2013
Capacity: 64GB
Memory - flavour: xx
Factory: F1 (China, Zhengzhou - Foxconn)

How can we explain this? :) I got this info from chipmunk.nl. Can you post a YT-clip and shake it a bit? Just for fun? :D Cause so far I tested a hell of a lot phones who rattles like mine. It won't be cheap for Apple to fix this mess, if everyone who has a rattlesnake in the phone sends them for repair.

It was a 32gb space grey F2. I would but I sent it back because it had bad screen interlacing and the screen looked worse than my old 4, and much worse than the first 5S that I had.

But to answer my own question, yeah the non rattle phones do indeed exist. The button moved like my old one, but didnt rattle which was interesting.

Glad you got sorted and hope going forward it may be a bit less of a build quality lottery for others. :)

Maybe non rattling ones do exist but they must be pretty rare. I myself have a week 42 space grey and it rattles pretty bad. Looks like a lot of others also do considering this video about it has almost 10,000 views https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrNtqp00JMc

Phone up Apple and complain I have a replacement being sent my way and hopefully it doesn't rattle!

It's good to know that there are non-rattling iPhones 5S out there. I was planning to order my first one tomorrow, but am still very hesitant. Maybe it is wiser to wait a couple of months.
