If he commits a crime that warrants it, why not?

If he is "suspected" in committing a crime. The way he is making people laugh, I suspect he has caused a few heart attacks :p
But thats not the point here. If there is a backdoor, it will almost certainly be available to 'others'. if anyone fails to see this, no one can make them "see".

Free Stuff, Bull Stuff, Crazy Stuff election this year I tell you.

I agree 100 percent with the courts. In that case, we should open it up." [...] "I think security, overall, we have to open it up and we have to use our heads. We have to use common sense," Trump continued, echoing his recent common refrain. Somebody the other day called me a common-sense conservative. We have to use common sense.

When you have to write an essay but didn't read the book.

So if a bank is presented with a court order to open a safety deposit box, they should just say no? That doesn't make any sense.

It's one thing if the government is asking Apple to give them a back door into everyone's cell phones. It's a different thing for a court to require that Apple comply with a court order to access evidence in a mass murder case.

Trump is right in this case and Apple is wrong.

Not surprising. Historically, fascism is not big on the rights of individuals, especially privacy. BTW, I am not using "fascism" as a sort of left-wing insult. The authoritarian, nationalistic line that Trump promotes reasonably fits the historical definition of fascism; you can look that up for yourself.

At the end of the day it doesn't even matter. If the court rules it's happening, it's happening. At worst, this will just get drawn out. Such is life.

no because finding a way to open a safety deposit box does not give a the government a master key to open all other safety deposit boxes. and also to other government.

I agree with a lot of what Trump says, but can't abide this (also water boarding as it has already been repudiated as ineffective. Even CIA's Brennan doesn't see it as useful.)

This issue could be the beginning of The Donald's downfall.

Tim Cook has written a great letter and posted it on the apple homepage, now he has to get some great counter tweets and sound bites out there as a counter to DT's position.
I hope not. I really want the republicans to run Trump.

This is absolutely why I am torn on this subject.

The concern here isn;t that the bank should be allowed to say no. The concern is that the "back door" could be used by someone illicitly, potentially without Apple or the end user knowing. But I don't think most of us know enough about how any of this does/would work and so speculation is rife.

The proposition is that Apple would have the master key, unless I im mistaken (much like the bank has the same master key).

The problem here is that Trump supporters are coming from all sides of the aisle. Not just conservatives. Trump could never have this much support from just the conservative side.

Oh stop. Trump might be that way but resorting to name calling like you just did only stoops to his level. You are just as bad as he is.

You are right in that "douchebag" was a gratuitous insult. But "racist" and "misogynistic" are descriptive words with specific meaning. Racists and misogynists really exist. To deny that these words can be applied objectively is a form of "political correctness", which Mr. Trump himself forcefully states he is against.

Republican front runner. If he wins the republican ticket, he will get crushed in the general election.

So as I said before, Who cares what Trump has to say.

I dunno...there's a TON of people on both sides as well as in the middle who are just sick of it all (like Hillary and Jeb!) and would like to see a "burn it all down" candidate like Trump...I think that's idiotic but there's a giant swath of people who are like that.
