Get the G4 & G5 Stocked UP! This is key! Get the back to school hold outs...the "unique users visiting Apple.com" more than any other hardware mfg. and staying longer. Get the hype buyers that heard about it, than see, then buy, then love it, and tell their parents about it, then video ichat with parents for free from anywhere (at least one or twice a week right).

I think you may be on to something. The next Apple innovation: hit your computer where it HURTS! The main processor will be in a little open window just below the display. An icepick on a chain will hang nearby. When frustration strikes, now you can really make your Mac pay attention!

(PS, I don't think the old iMac design will be back, great as it is... but it IS possible, despite the two months absence: Apple may have stopped making them because they expected enough G5s from IBM sooner than reality. The iMac G5 was probably done a whole, there just weren't enough G5s to ship earlier. So they'd have stopped shipping iMacs until September no matter what the design.)

Not sure if it could be the new iMac box... anyone recognize it?

The only thing important right now is we're 5 hours away from the premiere of the goodies. It's 11 pm central now and I think I should get some sleep so I can fully comprehend what a ghz is when they announce stuff, that and all that first day in some new college classes, stuff . . .

It's a pretty busy design for the minimalist Apple style though.

The Apple store web site states that the new imac will be announced and available in September. Would they change it to Aug. 31 without any notice?

I think we are pretty sure that the iMac delays where chip based not anything else and have been able to get a signficant quantity ready to ship in the last few months. Here's hoping...

Looks like an old Epson C80, long since discontinued. You can see the printer, plus what appears to be some example printouts such as CD labels.

No doubt. If Apple doesn't have some serious quantity for the iMac there could be some serious problems this fall. Here's hoping IBM has the majority of the bugs worked out even though no more then a month ago news.com and several other major news outlets said that IBM production issues could continue until 1st quarter of '05.

I am new here BUT HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU.

I just came back from my breifing for security and now in my hotel and will be going back when Keynotes begin.

I HAVE SEEN IT. THE NEW IMAC.

It is the SAME dome style BUT with colors like the Ipod Mini's. They are G5's and there is 17 inches and 20 inches. The posters are pretty cool.

BUT WAIT...THERES MORE...

I seen powerbook poster thing with supercomputer on your desk...next? and other side has picture of a laptop.

It is 6:25 am here local time. I hope I could give the information to everyone in the USA waiting up.

But it's alway's good to have wild speculation and unfounded hearsay to chew on. Otherwise we start getting desperate and start examining every little image under a microscope for some leak.

He said G5s. So has Apple! But I call "troll." Showing the iMac at a security briefing? And doing the briefing in the early AM instead of the day before... but then letting you go home for an hour before starting work again?

Kontact's version sounds more believable, and even that leaves me skeptical.

(EDIT: Oops--you probably meant the PowerBook having a G5. I'll let that discussion roll on unstoppably without helping it )

yes i am in HOTEL ROOM on my laptop. I am swiss security guard. We were breiefed about the security regarding letting people in and out and we were taken a tour of the area to cover. Was 45 min briefing and then we go back at 8am because thats when media will come.
