What kind of phone did you get IMEI number from?
I have the same problem.
I called them and found that my IMEI number (old tmobile phone) is recognized as unknown phone. I updated them with iphone's IMEI number and hang up abruptly as I saw in this forum but this did not work either. I will buy GoPhone on my way home and try once more. I assume that unknown phone does not switch to iphone automatically when we make a call with iphone.
Just in case, anyone willing to PM me 'worked' IMEI number so that I don't need to buy?![]()
I used a brand new att gophone. How did you know the imie number was wrong
Then,, maybe my assumption is wrong.
I called and asked them to check the IMEI number and they told me it was unknown phone.
I have no idea... no more thing to try.![]()
how long since you made the switch? I logged into my OLAM and it still shows the $30 plan for the non smart phone
I've waited for 24hrs.. mine shows the same $30 plan.
you dont need to buy the go phone, i believe the imei number is visible on the package, just go to store and call att from there or write down the imei

any thoughts on why it's not working?
1) It was a few pages back, but make sure you're on the $30 unlimited data/text for non-smartphones and not the $10 unlimited data $20 unlimited text plan. It works out to be $30 either way, but the latter doesn't seem to work.
2) Make sure you have wifi off and use your iphone. At least make attempts to use data, even if your data isn't working.

I am also on a family plan with 2 other iphones, should that make a difference?
It would if you didn't turn off unlimited family text messaging before changing your IMEI.
