So what if he likes it? It's still a pretty sweet case.

The red looks a lot better in the video than in the pictures. Red is a bear to photograph.

That sim cutout is stupid tho.

Idk, I think I want it again. LOL. In the video it looks beautiful. Problem is I have CRAP reception at my house. :(
 
I wonder how many here that have already ordered are actually going to follow through by cancaling their orders??? Should make a quicker delivery time for those that are still on the pre-order list. I'm betting there are still many that still want the case after seeing Larry's most recent review.

I'm fine with the case I just don't want the sim hole cutout and the logo and I don't think that is a hard thing for them to do since the previous one didn't even have that hole
 
So they designed it so that you can't plug in most accessories/chargers with the case on, but you CAN remove the sim card with the case on.

Seems they got it backwards...

I for one will-be holding tight with my sliver/sliver vapor order, unless its determined that the GPS signal is compromised. +there's two of us that have holsters ready to accept the Vapor 4 Case's, I being one of them ;).

Looks like anyone can get people to drop 80 bucks with a high price tag and clever marketing :/. This case is a flaming P.O.S.

I emailed apple to ask them if they could make it an option to use the + button as a shutter button for the camera to reduce camera shake. They emailed me back and said " Dear White/Rhino, We hope you fall down a long flight of stairs and really get messed up. We don't want you to die, You are a great customer but you should definitely have to limp around for a few weeks and find it hard to pee without crying. Thanks for your suggestion, though. The Apple team"

Sorry for being so dramatical but I guess at the end of the day we gotta decide if we like it or don't and go from there. Companies don't always make the smartest moves or bend to the will of consensus. If they did, the Ipad would have a front facing camera.:D And no I didn't really email apple haha ( legal disclaimer )

So I pre-ordered the silver/black yesterday, how long will it typically take for them to email me?
 
Now that everyone here has seen it and sounded off, I think the only important question left now is when will this thread officially die?

I posted shown pic's with my iPhone 4, it's a perfect fit with my "Scosche" bumper. And will bet just right with the Vapor.

I have no problem with the Sim. card hole or the elongated mic hole. i suspect people are right about a reception improvement. I notice the mic whole conveniently crosses one of those black strips.

I think they add a touch of complexity that doesn't hurt, in fact adds to the appearance. it makes it more expensive looking. just my opinion.

Lol I understand where your coming from but the V1 didn't have the cutout and i don't think they changed the design of it other than the cutout so the v1 side would be compatible with the v2 because I just want the side without the cutout like the previous version

PS: they don't want to put a front facing camera on the iPad because people hold it below facelevel so you get the underchin and that is the least flattering angle to take a picture and you would end up looking fatter than you are

Haha, I agree. I'd prefer to have no logos and have the sim tray covered. I just don't think we are going to get what we want. I was just looking for an excuse to stick it to Apple. Ipad............Honestly........really.......This is not a cool name Apple.

Just got my Vapor 4 and I am quite disappointed. Here is my list of issues:

1. I installed the case onto my phone and my signal strength immediately dropped from 3 bars to 1 bar. I tried changing locations but nothing worked. I removed the case and my signal immediately increased to 3 bars. Maybe just bad timing but I don't think so.

2. I was led to believe that the only logo on the case was going to be the Vapor4 writing (which I also do not care for but can live with). At no time did Element Case mention or specify (or show in any pictures) that the Element Case logo and writing would be placed on the opposite side of the case (which I don't like one bit).

3. The surface of the case is too smooth and I feel at all times that I do not have a secure grip on the phone even with the grip cutout on the case. If improvements could be made such as having the grip protrusions on both sides of the phone (which makes much more sense) or some sort of texturing on the sides this would help. Also, why are the grip protrusions on the side of the phone opposite your fingers (assuming you are holding it in your right hand)? Seems it would give a better grip on the side where your fingers touch.

4. The headphone jack cutout is much too small to be used with any of my headphones except the standard Apple headphones which I do not use. I suspect most headphones would be incompatible.

5. Most charging and dock connectors will be useless with the case including the connector that comes with the phone. The standard charging connector does go in but it goes so far in that there is barely any thing to grip other than the cord (which is definitely not good) to be able to pull it out.

6. The machining of the case is nowhere near as good as everyone was led to believe. Lots of machining marks are easily visible. The finish should have been just as good as the finish of the stainless steel band of the iPhone 4. That is what Element Case's renders of the Vapor4 showed.

7. The carbon fiber back plate is also not very well finished. I have no problem that it is a sticker but it is very roughly cut out. The out side edge and the cutout for the camera is very rough and uneven.

8. When the phone/case is gripped tightly, the case visible flexes inward because of the gap between the case and the phone. The entire inside perimeter of the case should have been lined with the shock absorbant material to make sure the case would fit tight and so that no parts of the case could move or flex.

To me, this case needs a complete rethinking and redesign. I will be sending mine back for a refund.

Sounds like you have version one of the case. You should be able to get a free replacement of version two according to other posts.

Yea but they said there going to be selling the side part seperatly in different colors so I don't see why they wouldn't make one without the sim hole especially if there is a demand for it

There's no such thing as an unbiased opinion. Bias is the very nature of an opinion. Epic fail post if you ask me.
 
Good review Larry, didn't seem biased AT ALL. he got a faulty product the first time and got the right one this time. Much better to me, the cutout for the sim didn't seem to bad nor the logo's. That top looks a bit weird but it looks real slick especially with the SGP Carbon on the back. Like he said, the Carbon you can order from Element is definitely not worth it.

Can't say I'm deterred from this case, looks pretty much like I expected it too.. I do agree the Carbon on the back should be held in by the case but overall it looks to be like real Carbon. The sim card slot I'm 50/50 about, the elongated slot on the top looks like they purposely went across the band and farther for aesthetics to match the sim slot. I personally wouldn't mind if they put a little slot going the thickness of the case at the lower band. I don't mind the elementcase logo, but I don't think I like the Vapor4.. either way I'll stay in the pre-order line.
