Thank you Larry... Nice one! I must say that you are very good in what you are doing. Hat off for you sir... :)

I like the case very much and I´m geting one as fast as I can! I´m not worried about the price, it´s actually quite okey in European standards. The thing i´m worried about is that I have not yet recived the second e-mail from EC. Perhaps I pre-orderd way to late, July 14...

So, it's pretty much a new design and looks nothing like the renders (still on their website, actually! Pathetic!). Sim tray cutout is just pointless. I'd assume the weird looking new cutout for the headphone jack is to make the case a bit lighter. Or maybe it is to go with the long cutout at the bottom. Makes no other sense to me.

Anyway, what I really wanted to point out...

Is this even legal in the US? I can tell you for certain that had they been a UK based business, they would have been in SERIOUS TROUBLE because of the unannounced redesign, extra logo, etc. Consumer Act clearly states the item should be the same as any description of it (text, real photograph, render, etc.).

Thanks for the new video, by the way, Larry.

I know that they are based in California which has the strictest consumer Protection laws but idk if there going to do anything about a slim card cutout and a bigger headphone slot

Yes, because suing is the answer.

Instead of suing, how about DONT BUY IT.

I wish I could sue people who sue.

I am not an expert, but this case seems to veer towards being a Faraday cage and consequently likely to suffer from signal degradation, a rather poignant weakness for the iPhone 4.

So was iLounge sent a version 1 or version 2? It has the extra button up the top that was missing from Larry's first one but it's lacking the sim card cutout and the earphone extension. Maybe Larry's is a version 3?

Not sure about California. But over here, there's got to be an official customer complaint before you can take your case to court (see what I did there? taking the case to court! :D).

The first logical step would be contacting Element Case, obviously. IF they refuse to address the complaints (refund, replace, yada yada), then people can go though legal channels. I doubt EC people are that stupid to risk their entire business over this.

No, there are only two versions.

The first one I received was a manufacturing mistake (totally missing the sleep/awake button, which was is on both versions.)

iLounge's is simply Version 1. AKA what's currently still advertised on Element's site unfortunately.

Easy now. I'm not suing anyone. I'm just pointing out to bog basic consumer rights that are clearly being abused. Read my second post.

Nice review larry. I appreciate it. I dunno about you guys but I still love this case as much as the day when I saw it. I can live with the Vapor4 logo, if you ask me it's cool, I like it, you just can't argue about individual taste but the ElementCase was totally NOT necessary!!! I Understand marketing is important but this is TOO much. The cut on the upper part, with the headset jack seems a bit much to me but I can live with it, if it helps the mic, i'll love it :D

I'd assume the weird looking new cutout for the headphone jack is to make the case a bit lighter.

I'm surprised no one has said much else about the headphoen jack, but I'm 99% positive it's simply for the angled headphone jacks and so it woudln't kink the cable on it. Makes perfect sense to me anyway. Aluminum is already light.

sim-card slot exposed...

A note to ALL that would rather not have the sim-card slot exposed in the Vapor ver.2 Case... If by chance any of you have access to a iPad 3G you'll understand the benefit of having this exposed sim-card option. If you would like using the iPad on your 3G ATT network w/o tethering or paying extra $$ for the ATT service, all ya need to do is slip your iPhone's sim in your iPad 3G and your good to go ;)

for a 80$ case vapor should at least let the consumer choose whether they wan the sim card slot or not. clearly that part seperates and its not hard two version.

I for one was not please with v1 not having a sim card slot. I travel quite a bit and i cannot imagine taking this case off to change sim card on the plane.... for a case that is so complicated and time consuming to put on being able to forsee circumstance which may require removal of the case is very much needed.

having said that by make the dock port connector not compatible with many aftermarket charger contradict their decision to include the sim card slot. alot more ppl would benefit from a wider docking area than an open sim card area.

I emailed Jeff sasaki and asked when new pre-orders would be able to order and he said hopefully early next week. He also mentioned there will be more/additional color options and choices including a gun metal grey.

Got my case today and this looks pretty sweet, what's funny I'm in the group 2 of the orders and I still recieved version 1! Which is a good thing for me because I didn't like the revisions they did with the sim slot and headphone port. As far as signal strength goes I only get max 3 bars in my house and with case on it's still 3 bars. Also checked maps and I have no issues getting my location. So as for now everything works, if I should start getting signal problems I'll call them and get a replacement to version 2. Also FYI compass also works fine.

Great news hidefguy, that's the only issue I've been concerned with. Thanks 4 sharing.

My news is not great....

I wish I had the same results as hidefguy.

I've been playing with Google maps on the iPhone 4 tonight while it's in the Vapor.

When I have Maps try to find me it's showing my location approximately 5 miles away from where I actually am.

When I remove the case Maps shows me exactly where I am.

Still testing but so far the worries over navigational issues might be substantiated.

Thank you for the info Larry. Are you going to sell the black/red one?

Sorry for the dumb question but what is a bump. I don't bitch and moan on alot of sites so this term is unknown to me.

Ps: this post is prolly a bump:D

Judging from the context in which it was used, I'd say "bump" means deleted or removed. :) Just a guess, tho.
