That's good. I assumed you wouldn't be able to because their FAQ page states:

Q:
Can I buy the Vapor with no laser engraved logos?
A:
Not at this time.

People who have called the company and requested no logo have been successful in getting it removed.

How does the carbon fiber backing work and how thick is it? Is it similar to one of those films on the market right now?

Element said it's a hard carbon fiber (not flexible) with a 3M adhesive on the back that if you choose to remove, won't leave a sticky residue behind.

Carbon fiber is radio opaque. Me thinks it might hinder an already tenuous antenna situation. Thoughts?

There are cases that are made out of total carbon fiber. If that was true, then those cases would make the phone unusable.

Anybody else notice their address is a rental box at a UPS store? It sure looks like one hell of a case... but glad I haven't handed over any money yet.

Actually carbon fiber is radio transparent. Have used it on RC airplanes for years.

Really?

Antennas: Mounting Location

Q "What is a good location for mounting a com antenna on my Kitfox?"

Two precautions: If your airplane is all-metal, com antennas must be externally mounted, as done on production aircraft.

Secondly, some aircraft are designed with carbon fiber composite material. Because the carbon content blocks radio waves, this rules out an internal mounting location. However, some kits have a mixture of materials; a fiberglass fuselage and a carbon fiber tail---allowing an internal fuselage mounting. Some builders have also made a cut-out in the carbon fiber on the rudder fin, installed a fiberglass panel, and fastened the antenna on the inside surface.

The carbon is not an issue. It covers the back of the phone and doesn't not even touch the antenna. EOS.
And for the person posting worries because Element has a po box or whatever, this company has made quality products (joule for iPad) and I know a couple of people who are very satisfies with their products.

i have a carbon fiber case(real) on order and from what i have read its a crapshoot as to whether or not it will affect the phones signal, but for the most part from reviews i have read for the last 3 weeks or so on multiple brands of carbon cases on different phones is that for the most part it wont effect the signal

I received my Joule for my Ipad a few days ago. Its a quality product. I was worried as a shared in a few posts but in the end they delivered and Im very satisfied.

LOL they just sent us all email explaining the situation. Its going to be the end of July for you at the earliest. Whats it even matter, you don't have the iPhone 4 yet :D

for real, hes not even going to get it until early august anyways.

Um you do realize that the antenna on the iPhone 4 is on the outside on the phone and that the carbon on the Vapor case will not even Touch, let alone cover the antenna?

Does it have to be touching the antenna to block radio waves coming from the direction of the back of the phone? I just don't know the particulars of all this and pretty sure they don't have the 100 million dollar anechoic chamber to test it in. Kind of a crap shoot. Can't wait for you guys to get yours and tell us how it works.

Element needs to understand that the VAPOR logo has to GO, it is taking away from nice case:rolleyes: Definitely the most obnoxious over the top logo I have seen on a case. It is distracting to the eyes:eek:

The actual case has a new, much smaller logo -- maybe an inch long at best (so they told me, anyway!) If you look on their site they have other images that have the smaller logo.

I feel bad complaining about them -- they said allow two to three weeks after July 12 for delivery -- and the Joule is a great, very well-made product. Lots of companies use PO boxes for customer communications, etc.

I'm just tired of waiting and buying a zillion other cases in the meantime!

I think it is going to be way way cool! I want it NOW!!!
