Exactly. I was just looking at Grovemade.com which offers a handmade Bamboo case and their pre-order system was beautiful, from their website grovemade.com

Your Grove case is not easily made. It takes nearly 2 weeks for a case to go from raw material to shipping out the door. We set out to create the best possible product which includes some time consuming operations. Details such as the 4 coats of hand rubbed oil finish and creating a picture frame/packaging out of the manufacturing waste make our product slow to make but higher quality. I hope you like the result of our efforts!

I'll wait for the case to arrive ..... if for anything, just to irk all the trolls posting in this thread.
I know everything is up and running on fido/rogers end... Tomorrow is for sure the date.
I know we are all wanting this case very badly, but honestly I do not understand why some are going insane.
To me, it looks like only Group 1 was delayed. I am in Group 2, and I was NEVER told to expect my case before AUGUST, including in my original acknowledgement preorder email. Then, after I had placed my order, when I called them the first time, they repeated August but said they hoped they would be able to get them out the last week of July. When I called them the second time they said again they were pushing for this week.
But, the original line on their website was "allow 1 to 3 weeks for delivery" and that was for the July 12 preorder. They built in some slack for themselves, clearly, but anyone in Group 2 should not have been expecting anything before August. Indeed, if you look back at your email I think you'll see that.
And for those of you who ordered colors other than the black or black and pink, they always said they would not ship before mid-August.
My take on it is that we are panicking because none of us has yet received anything. I wish to point out that if they received at least 5,000 orders in three days (which is what they told me) and if say 50 people on this thread are those who have actually ordered something AND PAID for the order (I'm being generous here) that means the MacRumors community here at best represents 1% of their orders. It is not unreasonable to assume that none of those 1% were in Group 1, or at least it is not unreasonable to say that 1% is not the entire preorder community.
We are probably looking at delivery some time next week. This does not seem to me to be fraudulent relative to my order, at least, where they told me August from the very first email inviting me to submit my preorder.
And for those of you who have not actually paid them anything -- really just what is your problem? Or those of you who ordered colors that they said would come out later -- again, what is the problem?
Lastly, for those of you who have not ordered or preordered at all, I wish to say that while I appreciate your concern, your anxiety and hostility about this company feels both obsessive and misplaced. After all, if you haven't sent in any money, why is Element Case any of your concern at all?
Personally I don't feel I need "saving" from self-appointed online vigilantes with nothing else to occupy themselves with except worrying about a case they did not order. If I get bored with waiting I will get my money back from American Express. It's that simple.

well said, and i completely agree. and i represent the guys here that PAID as they have had my money since the 1st. That is the real reason im frustrated is because they have my money, and i can't get a straight reasonable response from them (in which they already LIED to me). I paid full, so i deserve some insight on exactly when i should receive this item, not a "soon i think" or a "we are doin the best we can" that is insulting!
But the thing is, if ANYONE in the entire world has received one by now, please trust that pics would be sprawled all over the web. Because the ppl who are receiving these are iPhone 4 owners. Meaning competent with technology and internet savvy. Somewhere, someone that received this case would have taken a picture on some forum somewhere, and it would have found its way on the web and here on the forums already. Bottom line. This case isn't just a secret thing that certain forums know about, this is a case that has been sitting pretty on bigwig websites anticipating its release. I mean this thread has 1500+ replies ffs. lol

Random Person and I really DO think alike. Well put my phone case twin! Very well thought out and yes I am starting to get irritated too with the "fraud" and "vaporware" comments. I'm onboard with what Random and Perplex are saying. I am going to give it all the time it requires. Not happy about lack of response from Element but I can't control that. If i was to get ticked off I could vote with my money and get a refund. I ordered 2 full meal deals( black, black & black, pink , Girlfriend ) so if this was shady i'd be out 250 Cdn with shipping. That's 241 US for my American friends.

In my option this case is by far the nicest one I've ever seen pics of and I want it. it's because it does look so cool that this thread grows and grows. people want this case and they are excited about owning something so sweet and ticked because they don't have it yet. end of story.

(since he stated he did NOT update yet, is he implying someway that bars may be affected?. i think just him mentioning the update, there is something significant he is trying to say here about the reception due to the fact that the picture has 5 bars)

It was hard to get a hold of Element but when I finally got hold of them, the guy that answered the phone seemed a bit rude and stressed.
(i think he said this to try to throw us off, or either give us indication that he is tired of getting calls and he is very much stressed out)
and there is still the mystery of why he is clutching that thing with a kung fu grip, as you can see the white skin regions in his index finger and thumb
