Jeebuz, doesn't sound like they're focusing on the cases for the people who HAVE actually paid! Rediculous.

Jeff Sesaki (sp) says that most of the people ripping on them haven't even ordered cases. That's not from a lack of wanting to order one, they won't let us order one until they get caught up. I'm still in the pre-order line! :). Jeff, I've got my money ready! Just waiting on you. :)

Gee, I wonder why people are hostile? Maybe because they lie constantly saying they have been shipping out for the past few weeks? When they say that it makes people expect to see a product posted on these forum sites, duh! Why didn't he just post about what the problems were in the first place, instead of remaining secretive, removing himself from his company facebook page, etc, etc? Really this has nothing to do with being a small startup company or a huge company... its simply about being honest and open. They made it seem like they were shipping them out for weeks... with no problems, when they were actually having problems... which in turn created a huge mass of angry forum posters.

I really do feel bad for you guys who are patiently waiting for your cases. that'll turn to jealousy when I see someone using their phone with one! I'm gonna wait (lol) until some reviews or something

good luck! post up pics when you guys get em

Agreed, that is not good.

However, I'm starting to appreciate the predicament they're (possibly) in..
  • Initial design created - rush to market (pre-orders only)
  • In-progress product development and refinements once they have actual product in hand
  • During this time a massive influx of pre-orders/interest
  • Realisation that the current manufacturing process will not cut it
  • Implementation of mass production (to some degree) where supplier choice, quality control, coordination etc all come into play
  • More supplier issues and lead times ie. annodisers; insulator; packaging; freighting etc etc
  • Now a choice to make - a) ship a sub-par quality product to make early adoptors happy (not good for long term); b) hold off shipping, perfect product for long term success (unhappy early adoptors, dent in reputation short term, potentially greater long term success)

Roughly possible. But, in saying all of this, there is still no real proof that this product will ever come to fruition. Like it's been said, how hard could it be to provide some real pics to alleviate any disbelief?

In regard to this company slipping away into the darkness, never to be heard from again (along with a big bag on money), they have much more financial potential to stay in business and make this product work. The only reason I can see is if they have found that there is no way for the product to succeed, for example they found that the aluminium impedes the antenna signal to an unacceptable degree.

I've been quietly following this thread in the common hope that ElementCase come to the party. I want one - have registered with the pre-order line, but not paid any money yet.

Just my 2 cents :)

From the email: "We've made some nice changes to make the case lighter and feel better in the hand."

The case is lighter because they had to thin it out for signal strength.

From that email I got one thing. The case is going to look sweeter than we thought. To the guy's at Element , Take all the time you need, if it means my product is going to be better. The last thing I would want to do is spend a 100 bucks and get something I didn't like.

We didn't order this from some guy working out of the trunk of their car. We order a speciality item from a known, small Art/Design business. Everyone who is slamming the company and anyone who ordered a Vapor 4 case please chill out or find something more useful to do with your time. Or keep posting useless comments because after all it's a free country and you can say whatever the hell you want, even if it makes you look like you had a bad childhood and mommy didn't hug you enough.
peace:D

Even by the end of this coming up week, I will still be within the Paypal chargeback window :D Only if no-one receives a case yet by Friday August 7th I will cancel.

I agree totally!

Actually the only thing that truly concerns me is this business of the four screws. Honestly, I hadn't focussed on that. What if you are someone like me who likes to swap cases? Four screws on and off, every time?

And what happened to that moron who made one post and skipped -- he said the Vapor screws could be tightened to the point where the iPhone was scratched? That scares me more than the thought that they might skip with my money --

What's up with these morons who post once, claim they have the case, and disappear? Lemme at 'em -- wait, this is why we have gun control! ;)

I love how people turn stuff like this into a conspiracy! Makes me laugh so hard. These posts are ridiculous.

Who said anything about a conspiracy? Lets look at a few facts. There has not been one credible member of this forum that has received their order. Ship dates have come and gone. Some are getting skeptical about ever receiving their order. The manufacture has done nothing publicly (at least on this thread) to explain the delays. If you are still a believer, good for you. I hope you get your case. The funny thing is how you put down those that have given up or were skeptical to begin with. That's what is ridiculous.

Please kindly point out where I have ever put down anyone.

Secondly, if you look up their other products... there are many happy customers. :)

I totally understand people being frustrated with delays. That's completely understandable. It's just like the white iPhone 4. I was in that boat too. Hahaha. I'm not saying I'm "a believer" or not. I am saying, judging by the fruits this company has previously put forth, I'd say they are legitimately overwhelmed and experiencing real delays.

I honestly don't understand the hostility or the snide comments by some though. You might say that's ridiculous. I don't think it is. It's just a case, albeit an $80 case. If you can't handle the delays and don't want to wait, then get a refund. Otherwise, we sit it out and weather the storm!

Point taken. At times you have come across as if you were not making general comments, but were directing your comments to particular posters.

Regardless of this companies past success, I think they could have been more forthcoming with these latest issues.

If this case comes to market and it lives up to everyones expectations, that would be a good thing for all of us. If that comes to pass, I will gladly eat a little crow...:)

I saved the link to this post. I want to see the youtube vid when it comes out. :D

Well it took me all of one day to decide to post this. It's an email thread from the owner Jeff. Being that's its an email please read from the bottom up.

And yes... He is reading this topic...

Mike,
Some are going out Monday and then through out the week. Not sure where yours is.
We've made some nice changes to make the case lighter and feel better in the hand.
They will be arriving on Tuesday or Wednesday from the platers.
One of the problems we have is that none of our suppliers works on weekends. I guess once
we're up and running we won't either.*

How does he know if people in this thread have ordered cases or not? There is no way to make that connection.

This company is pretty aloof and really doesent have a clue from a business perspective if they don't know why people are remotely upset. Maybe because it is obvious now they rushed a case to market when it was nothing more than renderings and used customers pre order cash as venture capital so they could re-design, re-tool and continue to delay an be dishonest with customers.

And after all this it still sounds like he truly has no timetable as to when cases will ship.

Why can't this guy post or himself, offer an apology, a concession something, anything?

Instead most responses from this company seem to be "not sure why everyone is so negative", or "why is it a big deal"

Pretty obvious to me why some are upset.

out of curiosity, how many people didn't follow the instructions and sent money before Element sent them the instruction email asking to do so?

Probably because of all those SJ emails he thought it's a cool thing to dismiss customers like this

Ohh, and everyone would be MUCH MUCH less upset if they had just taken preorders and not actually charged people for a case that wasn't being physically manufactured successfully (like every other successful company does).

Every other large case company OtterBox, iSkin, InCase didn't (or doesnt) accept preorders until the products are in hand, problem free, and being made effectively and successfully. Element Case seems to still be in the initial testing phase with all of these problems they're having.

I registered for the pre-order, but didn't get an email with the code informing me it was time to pre-order. I saw the code posted on here, so I went ahead and ordered anyways. LOL.

I thought I read all the threads. I must've missed the one with the code. I'm still waiting for the second email to arrive.

If you read this thread you would realize that these cases are never going to actually ship... don't order one now.
