1. "build your own twitter"
2. parler is built
3. apple pulls parler off app store
4. elon buys twitter
5. apple threatens to pull twitter off app store

anyone can make their own but can be easily pull if it doesn't fit their agendas/narratives. this is sad.

Parler violated Twitter's TOS. They corrected it. They're currently on the app store (go look.)
Truth Social? Also on the app store.
Twitter? Also on the app store. And I do believe still baked into iOS's share sheets.

I think the only thing Apple threatened to pull was advertising. I doubt they'll pull Twitter from the app store.

This thread has gone into crazy town. (I'm not saying due to the post I quoted, but the crazy conspiracy theories others are posting.)

Even with that there are nuances though. You have a group of people who think that a man is a man and a woman is a woman, period. According to many on Twitter that is hate speech, when it's really just someone's opinion.

I believe that a person can be whatever they want to be as long as they are decent human being. A man can be a woman and a woman can be a man in my opinion. It doesn't' matter to me. But Twitter straddles a line of "You must believe what I believe or you are spreading hate" in regards to transgender people, which I don't personally agree with. If someone considers a transgender woman still a man, that is there opinion. I don't think its hateful, its just their opinion on gender which there are many conflicting arguments on.

Where I think the line is drawn is with racism. There is no space for it and anyone expressing a racist opinion should be booted off.
That group is vanishingly small. The people you described are most often the same one's calling transgender people groomers or saying that they're mentally ill. The fact that someone would even feel compelled to post the statement that "a man is a man and a woman is a woman" is indicative that there is more behind that statement. People don't generally feel the need to comment on topics on which they have no strongly held opinions. Nobody is out there expounding on the virtues of paperclips.

I’m so glad I don’t use or depend on Twitter. It seems like a complete mess.
Only for half the country and that’s if you take the media hype at face value.
But I don’t see it in my daily use I see. As all things equal it was always that way just for the other half of the country. From day one that started a campaign to take down Musk. It’s what they do.

For what it's worth, and not that any of you actually care, but *human rights* (nor (scientific) *facts*, btw) are not up to have *opinions* about. Simple as that.

I'd try and *debate* ((this)) but between*2 all your ^random) symbol(s), it is tough to *determine* what the [point] was.

Nah. It’s pushed in people’s faces daily.

Whoa, we aren't talking about ad dollars, we are talking about Apple kicking Twitter off the app store so slow your roll. The point the person was making that if they want to get rid of twitter for giving way to hate speech than they woulid have to get rid of Reddit which also does the exact same thing but cranked up to 1000. Thank you for the attempt at a personal attack though, maybe next time.
Reddit has a content moderation policy that they enforce. Doesn't mean stuff doesn't get through, but that's very different from "we're going to open Twitter up so that you can say almost anything, as long as it isn't violent." Reddit has notoriously banned many subreddits.

Have they denounced what's going on at Foxconn? This is disturbing to me. I really couldn't care less about Twitter. It's entertaining to look at lately with all the pearl clutching, but there is a lot more to life than all the bloviating over on Twitter. I get it, some peoples' entire existence is based around their addiction to social media. However, the HR abuses going on over in China - which they are entangled in - are very serious, aren't just "mean words", and should not be ignored. Apple also seems to be actively helping this tyrannical government quell any dissent by its citizens, which is especially troubling. I think people need to come to terms with the fact Apple are basically a bunch of hypocrites at this point regarding a lot of issues. This company has enough money to invest all of its manufacturing in the US.

Those platforms are free to exist as websites. If you have a problem with Apple being able to remove apps from the app store, then the solution is allow apps to be installed on iPhones from other places, like you can on Android, not by forcing Apple to host content on their own app store.

I have no doubt many people think this. People also used to think slavery was ok. There are always regressive people who end up on the wrong side of history. This is no different. Progress will be made with or without you, just like it was not all that long ago on the same-sex marriage issue.

Elon Musk says he is overburdened with challenges to his time. Elon, you are wasting valuable time telling others how they should do things. Stop it and you will get more done in your businesses. Elon, just saved you thousands if not millions. Your welcome!😎

Doubt the world's richest man and a self-made billionaire needs business advice from you, I or any other internet random.

Where does it say that Twitter is being opened up to say anything as long as it isn't violent? Is that what their new terms of service says?
