X is the most popular news app on the App Store. I'm pretty sure most bots run in desktop environments.

Bot are only worth running where there are active users. I feel like this basic premise is constantly in need of being explained.

I'm sure that counts downloads while Xitter was still Twitter, before the elongated muskrat turned it to excrement.

I deleted my account the day that moron walked into the Xitter office carrying a sink.

Shocking. I’m sure this has nothing to do with Elon raising money to build a competitor to OpenAI, and that Apple is offering functionality of OpenAI within the OS on their devices. And that Apple is utilizing their own servers and Apple Silicon to process user data, so they don’t have to rely on Nvidia chips, which Elon can’t do and will never be able to do. And that Apple reduced their ad spend on X. Nothing to do with any of this, right?

FYI: I have been amazed and impressed at EM’s achievements thus far, seeing him as a disruptor, pushing the envelope, creating more than perhaps any one single person before him. I didn’t need to “like” him to think he was pretty awesome. I’ve NEVER liked the cultish following he’s amassed and his blatant willingness to take advantage of it. Recently I’ve also been taken aback at his outburst, his apparent erratic behaviour and willingness to abuse his power. I now see him as an overworked spectrumite being pulled in too many directions by too many people with too few guardrail's (and then there’s the drgs). He seems emotionally frail at this point and slightly paranoid, easily offended/triggered and very reactive.

But I digress…

He might have a point with this AI integration, in general. But why is he so concerned? Espionage and theft is a reality with phones already. And it’s the way he does it that “off”. He’s like a bitter ex-husband refusing his ex-wife taking the kids on holiday with her new beau, just because. So it’s counterproductive for his stated goals. And what about Windows and Co-Pilot? And Google will be doing exactly the same with Android. And Apple is the strictest with this type of things in the workplace. Does he think Apple employees will get a separate version?

He doesn’t care how he’s perceived, but in a society how one is perceived determines the outcome of one’s wants/objectives. So he’s working against himself too often IMHO.

There’s no debating he’s an intelligent man. But is he too intelligent for his own good?

A jilted social disruptor has a case of sour grapes over Cook's embrace of a different disruptor. Who'd 'a' thunk.😉
Don't like the guy, but I'm sure he is intimate with the machinations of the rival.

Dude has lost his marbles. And is full of s*it. I’d bet $10,000 he fails to follow through on this (just like he has with countless other promises and threats).
He'll scoop up Oppo or any other struggling phone manufacturer and create his own MuzkoPhone running muzkoOS for his employees, just as he does with other technology that rubs him the wrong way.

I'll take Elon at his word:

• The CyberTruck windows are bullet proof
• Full Self Driving works great
• The CyberTruck is faster than a Porsche 911
• Apple working with OpenAI is a bad thing

Oh wait...the first of those 3 have been proven incorrect. Hmmm....

You can also add: "I'm gonna get rid of the bots on Twitter/X"

:p

What happens to your ability to express yourself, when you hand over thinking and writing to AI?

To laugh and mock this man when he’s probably knows more than us is silly.

People in this forum always talk about pRivAcY when it literally doesn’t exist in today’s age.

I said the same thing to my wife last night watching the keynote. There’s nothing stopping open AI from harvesting data.

The same people that celebrated “threads” taking down X are thinking Elon is just a hater.

It’s okay to dislike the guy but also take what he says into consideration. So many people acting like cult members.

$100 says Apple panicked because they are behind on the AI curve and their iPhone sales are dropping so they agreed to work with ChatGP until they build their own.
This. You don’t have to like Elon Musk. But what he said and says about AI and privacy has merit. Unfortunately we live in a world that consists of binary choices. You either like someone or you hate the person. It’s stupid. OpenAI is a shady company with shady people at the helm. Look at that Sam Altman guy and the Scarlett Johansen controversy. He asked her to lend her voice, she declined, he then kinda copied/cloned her voice anyway. He then removed the clone after she threatened him with legal action. He also got fired from the company after a lead AI scientist saw something scary in relation to the evolving AI models. Then he got rehired again and the leading AI scientist left the company. The thing with companies like OpenAI is that it is developing a technology that is going to change the world in a rapid fashion, it will make the last 25 years of technological advancement feel like the Stone Age. It’s always about power and these companies are ruled by psychopaths. Your data is not safe with OpenAI and Apple was indeed caught off guard and now they are forced to make a deal with a company that lacks transparency. What could go wrong?
