How many generations of the (Product) Red sport band have there been? I have one I got with no outer box that has the "(Product) Red" logo & "40mm" stamped on it. Do I have it correct that that would the 3rd gen from late 2018? Is that the same as what Apple is currently selling?

3 gens of the band, 2 of the loop - I believe.

There are three generations of the band — and yes, you have the one that Apple is currently selling. The first two generations were of the 38mm/42mm era.

Mind helping a fellow new ceramic owner out and sharing your strategy? Did you mention you bought your watch used? Want to strategize my game plan before going in!

Here ya go, Ivan:

Yes, I told them I purchased on eBay. You don't have to tell them anything else. Are you trying to order the band or trying to verify your warranty? I went through both processes this week.

I think I may have picked up a bargain - but I am prepared to be corrected! I took a chance on an eBay seller with zero feedback - figured I’d rely on buyer protection if it turned out to be a fake account. Was the only bidder on a £40 starting price - a few days later this turned up...

This guy has some OEM bands at decent prices. I just picked up 44mm Pine Green and Clementine sport bands for $30 each. He has a few other listings left still.

After an hour on the phone with Apple, they are sending me the band. Gotta pay $49 plus shipping--but I suppose I'm OK with that as these can't be purchased anywhere else. The model numbers in the system were impossible for the rep to decipher. She had to check with supervisors to see which one has the ceramic white pin. With my luck, they'll send me one with a silver pin (but at least I have a chat transcript to back me up if that happens!)
Did you have to prove ownership of your Ceramic, i.e. with a Serial Number, or could anyone phone up and order one?

I’m in the UK I’m afraid. It’s an outfit called CeX. Very hit and miss. I’ve got some great deals but some right stinkers too, but returns are easy.

I can’t tell you the number of Pink Sands that have dropped onto my doormat when trying to order various other shades of pink!
Apparently they can’t tell the difference between a Ceramic Apple Watch and an Aluminium either. I was looking at their fairly decent selection of Sport bands when I saw the Ceramic, I currently have no Apple Watch but still buying Sport Bands like some crazy person lol so thought this series 3 ceramic would be a good fix until series 6 comes out. When I contacted them about the mistake and asked them to track down my order or at least send me the correct item they said they could not due to new Covid 19 health rules, umm what, your whole business is selling second hand goods yet sending me a replacement is contravening the health rules?? 🤦🏻‍♀️. Not having much luck lately, missed out on both Rose Red and Sky Blue Sport bands and have a UV Sport Band floating around somewhere between Slovakia and the UK, tracking stopped a week ago 😬

I had to open a repair request (which required the S/N). If anyone could order one, that could be profitable (these can be sold for $100+ on eBay)
I already had to do a full replacement in September when my ceramic pin got scratched (and I got it back weeks after my new watch and band came; after returning it wrong by itself) so I probably am not due another repair request BUT I’m always curious how the maze works...did you still have to give your Apple ID? Did they then associate the watch with your account?

My watch band today, cool gray looking very blue in the dark😍

The warranty I dealt with a couple weeks ago. Thankfully it seems I had an easier go than you did with that. This is for the band. Thanks for the advice!

I currently have a fake Milanese Loop, a Pride Loop that’s supposed to be a 2017 Pride Nylon and boxed Hibiscus Loop that should be a Band on my desk waiting to go back to them. I’m also waiting for refunds for a few more, but it’s worth it for the real bargains. Their grading is also seemingly random - I’ve had some B grade bands that have been boxed and unworn with the plastic still on them and other B grades that look like they have been chewed by a dog who was a heavy smoker.

One frustrating thing is that because they split the watches and bands they take in, and they have titanium and ceramic watches for sale, some of the random greys and whites on their site will be the limited edition ones - you could even narrow it down to which stores they are likely to be in, as they are the ones who have the watches, but online orders get allocated from random stores!

Anyway, rant over - really sorry to hear about your bad band luck 😔 I did look at their older ceramics myself...

Does anyone know whether the woven nylon bands work with series 5 watches? I am in the position to buy the black woven nylon one (last available Summer 2017), but it was discontinued right before the series 3 was released, so I'm worried that perhaps the fit isn't right.

I read somewhere that the classic leather buckle and the woven nylon bands were discontinued because the fits aren't perfect with the series 5, so any images you guys have would be appreciated as well!

There was only one ceramic left and it was in their Harlow store so it was them that sent it out but of course you can’t phone them and when I told customer services it was the Harlow branch please check with them they just couldn’t be bothered 😡 He then had the nerve to say I could only have a refund following a thorough testing of the returned aluminium watch. Sorry about your returns 🙁

The returns are all part of The Game. I once bought their entire stock (4) of B grade Light Pinks, knowing that at least half would be Pink Sand - turns out 3 of them were, so they went back.

Ironically, I now need a 1st Gen Pink Sand, but they only sent 2nd Gens when I tried to order the original Pink... did get the Pink boxed in perfect condition for £12 though.

Post-Covid closure, they have a big backlog of online returns, so waiting for my money back, but my wife won’t let me visit my local store to return them... (I’m Type 1 Diabetic, so she’s not keen on me leaving the house at the moment - my Band ordering is my only connection with the outside world 🤣)

Definitely better to be safe than sorry. If I see any 1st Gen Pink Sand bands I’ ll give you a nudge 🙂 size 44 or 40mm?

Yup! They both fit great! I actually just got both a classic leather buckle and woven nylon yesterday! Here is my series 5 with black leather classic buckle and black stripe woven nylon:

Damn, it is. @athousandbands is trying to get me to join him in the multi-Watch club by getting that exact stainless steel gold watch, which he says would go great with my olive skin tone. I have resisted so far! Maybe once the Series 6 comes out if there are people selling their Series 5 at a serious discount...

I just saw this on eBay for 38-40mm in box
