Gen 1 blue?
In that pic yea, but I think it’s more neon than that, here it is the sun with (cactus, royal, surf)...

Sweet!! I had just purchased that band on Mercari and came here to ask you guys if you thought it was lavender gray. 👍I’ve been looking for a purpley band! Apple really needs to do more purple colors.
It’s also quite soft, as perhaps all bands of its vintage and later were, but I just remember it being an early example of the new recipe. Even the one I’ve used for wet workouts a bunch is still powdery eh eff.

Also: I think our dogs’ eyes are open the same exact amount in our avatars 🐃

Just got turquoise in the mail that I ordered from Chargerstore a few weeks ago. It’s beautiful. I wanted something with a bit more saturation than seafoam and also I’m a bit hesitant to buy new bands right now because of the locking in issues.

This photo is in bright window light. It looks a little darker in lower light.
beautiful color, today I’m going to buy it

Woven nylon of the day: 2017 LGBTQIA PRIDE. Love it much more than I thought I would. I think it's the bleed between colors. PRIDE all day, every day!

I’m pretty sure I know what color this is but I would love some help. So-called “electric blue” from the eBay seller with all the old gently-used gray and silver Nikes...but I figure I better not presume anything after my “royal” meltdown.

I still say gen 1 blue bc it looks like mine and I THINK that’s what I have.
Yeah you have me convinced. Blue1,

Are we sure about this assessment? These are the three blues I bought. From left to right, one labeled gen 1 from @toxtrepla , whose assessments I trust, one from Chargie labeled gen 2 and the one @athousandbands just bought labeled electric blue.

One thing is if you look at Chargerstores chart, he mislabels Gen 1 and Gen 2 every time. I told him about it a while back and he acknowledged it was an error but never fixed it. Real Gen 2 is incredibly aqua and neon esque.

It took for me to get a Gen 2 sealed in a box with the right serial to solve this one for myself. I ended up collecting 3 gen 1s in the process until I got a gen 2. Without them side by side it’s really hard to gauge. As a side note, Gen 2 seems to be the rarer of the bunch (and is chargerstores gen 1, which carries a higher price tag as well).

The biggest difference if you don’t have both to compare is the lugs. Gen 1 has very rich blue lug pins in comparison. If you view the difference in my picture you’ll see what I mean.

Are they all gen 1? I swore your one was a different color but now looking at the lugs I’m not sure:

Seeing all your photos of Coastal Grey made me finally go to an Apple Store. Thought it would be too brown for my liking but I honestly think it is one of the nicest shades of grey available
Love how quiet and yet impactful this band and face combo is. I’m seriously thinking about getting it. Now that the Apple stores are open in Toronto I will try to go by and see it and cactus in person.

Either I’m going crazy or these are the same exact color.

There are bunch of blue variations and with these two (gen1/gen2) blues being the oldest release, why is it that their value is so low? Is it because they’re still mass producing it? You said the Gen2 being the rarest but i’m seeing that it only sell below retail and $40 being the average. These neon colors are one of a kind, why can’t you guys as collectors dictate/drive the price up?

As you said, they were the first release. Most AW buyers went for the sport, and of the three colorful sport bands available (excluding black & white) I believe blue was the most popular. Simply put, there’s relatively low demand & very high supply.

Yes, manufactured and released in 2015. I’m still seeing being advertised as new so Apple is still producing it but telling demand is low doesn’t make any sense business wise. Rare commodity should drive the price up. As a collector you want your stuff/stocks to have a good value or return. It’s genius for Apple to not change The connectors for all AW series. You can dictate the market especially those old/ancient colorways, right?

Production on those colors stopped somewhere around 2016 I believe. They’ve long since been discontinued. It’s just that Surf & other blues along the way have filled that blue gap for non-collectors, so the original blues aren’t anything special.

It’s sad that they come up with so much blues and the new one’s aren’t that exciting. It should have stopped at the Gamma Blue release and more of that UV variation.
