One thing is if you look at Chargerstores chart, he mislabels Gen 1 and Gen 2 every time. I told him about it a while back and he acknowledged it was an error but never fixed it. Real Gen 2 is incredibly aqua and neon esque.

It took for me to get a Gen 2 sealed in a box with the right serial to solve this one for myself. I ended up collecting 3 gen 1s in the process until I got a gen 2. Without them side by side it’s really hard to gauge. As a side note, Gen 2 seems to be the rarer of the bunch (and is chargerstores gen 1, which carries a higher price tag as well).

The biggest difference if you don’t have both to compare is the lugs. Gen 1 has very rich blue lug pins in comparison. If you view the difference in my picture you’ll see what I mean.

Alright band experts — I grabbed this off eBay as a “pink classic buckle.” Based on the photos, I thought it was probably Pink Fuschia. But now that I have it, I’m thinking it’s Berry.

Can any of you smart folks offer a definitive opinion?

They are actually a lot more different in person. Hard to capture at times. Beryl and Turquoise are the closest, but there is a big difference in the blue/green make up.

Good catch! I had somehow switched those two bands when putting them away from the last color comparison. Had to pull out the sea foam box to make sure! Those labels from you apparently can’t come soon enough 😂

Unless you get it in very bright light, the brown in pebble doesn’t come out and it looks frustratingly close to concrete. If you can’t see the pin, spicy orange and Hermes maybe.

$20 Mercari pickup, the yellow/light gray gold buckle is a great match for GSS

Yeah, I’d agree they’re hard to tell apart based on the photos I’ve seen. I’m presuming berry. But I’ll probably end up being wrong.

Look especially at the night comparison, surf keeps its luminosity. Plus royal is a much harder band while surf has the new softness of series 4 and later era.

It’s hard to capture in pics, but I was surprised how brighter flash is than lemonade:

in that way they remind me of vitamin C and Papaya. In both cases I have a clear favorite band, though I think the duller ones (Lemonade and papaya) still work well outside.

I agree with him that surf seems more luminous and less gray. @athousandbands , I’d be interested in seeing an ocean/blue horizon comparison pic if you have them both.
