Am I the only one bothered by the fact that Apple is shipping, for example, a gold or rose gold Apple Watch with a Band that has a silver pin? I think that started with the introduction of Series 5.
I understand that they want to allow customers to configure their watch with any band on purchase, but getting a band with a matching pin should at least remain an option for those who care..

Sorry if that's been discussed around here before.

Next week's "new band" (I've gotten myself into a routing of changing them every weekend) just arrived - Blue Cobalt.

Might be the last one I pick up for a while. Couldn't resist this one at $24 but I'm not seeing anything else cheap that tickles my fancy. I just don't have the skin tone for "Flash"

I'm not sure if I'd say it bothers me... but let's put it this way.... Apple continues to get the premium from me to buy the stainless steel version of the watch. In part because it's the look I prefer among all the choices. And in part, because it matches the lugs/buckles/pins on the majority of my bands -- particularly the "more formal options" where I tend to care more about such things.

Good news: New arrivals, Gen 1 Pink Sand (Silver Pin) and Gen 2 Red. I’ve got all three Product Reds covered now.

Bad news: Both suffering with the scourge of second-hand bands - that pointless piece of paper stuffed down the end of the box… Any pro-tips for getting them out? Even with a long, thin metal skewer I struggle to get purchase or leverage.

I had 3D printed out a long “grabby” tool a while back to deal with these. But I would think any metal/wooden rod or dowel with a hook at the end should do the trick. I really do hate that paper piece... First thing I do when I unbox a new one is place that to the side.

Wow $24 for blue cobalt is a steal, I got it for ~$65 about a year ago sealed.

This was a major consideration for deciding on stainless steel for me as well, and also for getting Silver over Space Black.

Every Apple Premium Reseller gets a bunch of demo bands for their showroom and for try-ons. The bands are 100% legit, but not for sale, at least not officially. And every of the demo bands has it own model number, so an APR can order any band at Apple individually.
It is always worth it to check an APR for older or not-available-anymore-bands. :)

Thank you!

I just shake the box and tap on the end where the paper is, and it usually comes out for me. You must have a really wedged one to need tools.

Which is also why I am going back to Silver SS on the S6, or a S5 at a nice discount if the S6 isn't a huge jump in features. I have a S2 Silver SS and went back to Aluminum on the S4, and have wished I'd stuck with SS. Love the look of that shiny polished SS.

Well yes, that's what I thought too - but if something is enough of a 'bargain', I'm now finding myself doubling-up between myself and my Wife. I REALLY don't want to be in a position where I feel I need every colour in both sizes - that way madness lies! 🤪

That’s me. Looking for bargains on certain colors that I already have to use for my vacation bands. If I loose any of the vacation bands, I still have my original ones.

Ok I’ve never been a ‘red’ person....not with clothes, accessories, phones, etc....but I’m kinda thinking about a red sport band since I’ve been going for vibrant colors lately o_O!

Has Apple released different shades of their Product Red sport band? What should I know?

Thx!

3 generations of sport band. G1 is brightest, G2 is darkest and doesn’t have a Product Red badge despite being product red. G3 is marked 44mm while the other two are 42mm, so it’s easy to tell the different generations apart.

Internal codenames for Product Red G2 are Dragon Red & Red Velvet. Despite the difference in names, these are all the same color.

edit: Found an old comparison pic.
