Decided against picking up a S6 because the improvements over my S5 aren't great enough to justify buying a new one. The S4 I use for sleep still has 82% battery capacity so it'll do another year too...

Which means it's time to buy some bands instead! Got a discounted black nike sport loop on the way (finally!) - last one the seller had, so I picked that up first. Then I'm in for the new product red sport loop and obsidian mist nike loop, I think. Maybe even the red braided solo loop at some point...

I'm a Grade 1 teacher, so I'm a bit wary of sport bands (regular and nike ones) since I went back to school. With sport loops my watch is unlikely to go anywhere (with the most recent nike ones it's difficult to get over my wrist when I want to, let alone accidentally, since they shortened them). Luckily none of the new sport band colours tickle my fancy.

Maybe Cyprus Green.

This is how it begins again...

how can you find out how much battery capacity is left?

Just found this:

"With watchOS 7, open the Settings app, then tap Battery. You'll see your current charge level along with a detailed charging graph."

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204608

There's a 'Battery Health' option within, where you'll find 'Maximum capacity' data relative to when the battery was new. I think this is new in watchOS 7.0

Hey guys. It’s been a long time.
Just so you know, in case you haven’t touched the topic yet, I just found out if you go to the Hermès webpage, they have a few more options than Apple for the series 6.
They have the Étoupe color back in stock , and they have the Double tour for the 44m, which has never existed from Apple.

However, they lack of the deployment buckle version in the Noir (black) color that Apple has in their catalog.
Here you see the Fauve, Ébène and Étoupe from the Hermès web page.
Regards.

So exactly one of my ordered watch bands a) wasn’t cancelled and b) wasn’t delayed in delivery. So I spent yesterday with the Product Red Sport Loop 2020.

Wow. It’s very bright. I like that about it. Not sure how I feel about the one edge burgundy the other edge black thing... although I like the way each of those colours works with the main band colour.

Pretty happy with it.

I like the dual tone edges on some of the new loops (Cream and Navy most notably), but feel this one would have looked better with just the black/dark blue edge on both sides.

I like it! The burgundy is great. Might be better with both sides burgundy IMO! Hard to tell.

Caved and got the gold stainless with navy band. My local store had stock for pickup so I was able to grab it this morning. One thing I noticed with both of the new sports bands that I got (green and navy) is that they feel different from the others and they fit into the watch channels best at a particular angle otherwise they feel stiff and difficult to slide in.

Nice! I wish they continued to match the pins with the finish of the watch, that navy band with a gold SS pin would look awesome. I also think the black pins on the Nike Sport bands will be missed I personally think the new Obsidian/Black Nike band would have looked awesome with black SS pin. Congrats on the new watch and joining the Stainless steel side!

can't decide between the Atlantic Blue and the Charcoal Braided Loop.
Atlantic Blue is SPECTACULAR, vibrant, eye catching...but I'm afraid I'll get tired of it sooner over time.
On the other hand, Charcoal is less eye catching, but a classic black it's an evergreen that goes well with everything, everywhere.

The Braided Loop appeals me to because I see as something that would go very well with a woolly jumper. I just wish it came in a Taupe colour!

Seems like Yellow is becoming a common regular colour at Fall, looking at this year and last year (Meyer Lemon, Lemon Cream, Ginger, California Poppy).
I believe they have released at least one yellow every fall. Meyer Lemon was probably the brightest loop outside of Sunset. I wonder if it'll start going for the same price as sunset in the future?

I still have one open box but never worn.

Thanks very much! I’ve been questioning myself on whether the upgrade is worth it but I’ve wanted the stainless for a long time so I will stop overthinking and just try to enjoy it. And yes matching pins would be lovely.

For anyone interested, here is new gold with old stone.

I think it looks nice. Love how bright the red is.

The new gold is what I wished the old gold was! Hope they keep it around for when I upgrade next.

Just opened my Series 6 blue Alu with Deep Navy sports band and what do you know? The sports band doesn’t even fit into the watch it comes with. Same band doesn’t fit into any of my other Apple Watches either.

Now I’m stuck deciding whether to try and exchange the band or just returning the whole watch. I love the color but can’t justify keeping it as it’s not as striking as I had hoped and I do have both a Series 4 and 5.

Yep, had to return my new bands for the same reason, it sucks.

I've been unavailable the last week, so i just now got the chance to read the many pages of posts since Apple's new band announcements.
My main comments are on the multiple sizes of the new Solo Loop and Braided Solo Loop bands:
- Once the excitement of the new bands wear off, I would suggest that people buy what they really want to keep and wear. It's going to be very difficult to sell these these bands on the resale market. Only those with the exact same size wrist as you will be interested in them.
- On the other hand, you may be able to snag a great price on used bands with the limitation of potential buyers for any one specific size band.
- I suspect to see a lot of returns to Apple due to people ordering the wrong size. I hope they don't resell them as "new". What will happen to those bands? Maybe Apple will begin to sell "open box" bands at a discount? Once other retailers can sell them, they'll have the same issue.
