Do you guys think that the brand new solo loop and braided loop means that the classic 38-40 mm and 42-44 mm measures are gonna stick with us for long? I hope they didn't introduce them just to completely change the back compatibility in the future.

Need a bit of Solo Loop sizing help: I tried the printable tool, it puts me just into a size 7, but I can pull it quite taut and get it to a 6. I prefer my watch snug, so I presume this is the one to go for? For context, I wear a S/M 44mm Sport Band on the 3rd to last hole (i.e. 3rd from the loosest setting).

If anyone wears the same Sport Band size and has a Solo Loop/Braided Solo Loop, would be really interested in the size you picked!

I saw some pictures of the new cream band posted a few pages ago, which didn’t look as creamy as mine does (it looked more grey). Here’s what mine looks like in fairly neutral lighting, with overcast light coming in from the window. The keyboard behind it is a magic keyboard for iPad, if anyone’s curious about the colour balance.

The top picture is where the outside light is hitting the top part of the watch (and shows the 40mm S6 gold aluminum), the second is where the watch is in shadow from the window light.

I also saw some of the demo bands at the Apple store yesterday. Here’s what I thought:
- New solo braided loops and solo loops seem nice, much more stretchy than i expected. Expensive for what they are, and I’d be concerned about stretching. The braided ones seemed nicer than the regular solo loops.
- The ginger is paler than i was expecting, but looking at the Apple site, matches up pretty well
- The orange sport loop (with the dark green on the sides) looks a bit washed out, it was much more muted than I expected
- The plum colour is stunning, and I’m very excited to get this band when my preordered watch finally gets here on the 28th. It looks much better than the website version. This was the only one i had to resist the “I must have this right now” urge of all the bands I saw.
- The other darker sport loops looked good from what I could see under the glass as I was walking out. The navy sport loop looks particularly nice.

Weirdly, the new cream loop doesn’t quite clip into the new watch correctly - there’s an audible click each time the band hits the case when you pull the right side of the lower half of the band in and out - in fact, on that first picture, you can see it’s flush to the watch on the left, but not on the right. It seems secure...but it’s odd that it’s not perfect, and it will definitely be being returned (although I’m not sold on the cream strap yet, so it may have been being returned regardless. We’ll see).

Caved and got the gold stainless with navy band. My local store had stock for pickup so I was able to grab it this morning. One thing I noticed with both of the new sports bands that I got (green and navy) is that they feel different from the others and they fit into the watch channels best at a particular angle otherwise they feel stiff and difficult to slide in.

Purple Pulse is great.
Blue Black/BM is what B/Pink Blast should have been. A bit more interesting.

from pics of the Obsidian Mist band, I don't think I'll get it. originally I wanted it, but it doesn't look much different from PP/B.

No problems with either bands fitting in on my S5. The Nike loops lugs seemed a bit unfinished or unsanded but they seem ok after a bit of use.

I was worried I was missing out on all the yoinkage, but I’ve successfully yoinked a sealed Cypress Green SB for £12 under retail.

‘Tis the season for S6 purchasers to offload their ‘free’ bands to offset some of the cost. All hail the ‘pick your own band’ approach - should mean eBay isn’t quite so flooded with Black and Pink Sand...

Yeesh! That’s what I was afraid of. I thought nectarine would be more orange though, or is it being sucked into the pinkyness of all the others? 😂 I’m really starting to think these repeat colors happen because most people don’t collect bands, and that Apple wants each new generation of Watch buyers to have a chance at the same type of colors?? That way instead of having to head to eBay, they head to the Apple store and pick up essentially the same shade.

I fear you’re right. I’ve yet to see any of the new bands IRL (Apple hasn’t even taken my money yet...) to compare, but as @MostlyARMless put it so well they might be covering their greatest hits for the new people.

They still come in 40mm and 44mm so I can’t see that happening. Unless you mean the length, which again I don’t see changing for the bands that have adjustability in the fastening.

Thanks for that - I was expecting more of a difference I think.

The printable tool runs large, so if you like it snug, I would go for a 5. If you want it to feel just right with some breathing room, go with 6. I measured 5 and got a size 5 band at first, but swapped it out for a 4 since I found size 5 a little too loose for my liking.

I’m curious if the new Graphite Milanese Loop matches more closely the Space Grey Aluminium Apple Watch than the Space Black did... Already the old Milanese, but just wondering.

I’m tempted by the Braided Solo Loop style but I’m not sold on the colors yet, but they look different in person soI don’t know... plus they’re expensive.

Chargerstore has it for $119, I think. Too rich for my (rose red) blood
That may be a misprint. He told me last week that he’s now sold out.

Spruce Aura, Obsidian Mist, and Bright Mango returned. The Apple Store couldn’t honor my $44 discount price with an exchange, so now I have to wait 2 weeks for my refund to come through and for the bands to ship. Lovely.
That’s odd. EPP is valid in store with proof of employment.

I didn’t put up much of a fight. The real insulting part was that he initially put up a request to exchange, and a second employee rolled out a card with my bands on it, but the guy said “Oh we don’t need those, I’ll go ahead and cancel it.”

I was tempted to just go “shhhh” and slowly grab the bands.

At least I got some comparison pics before I sent em back?

As expected, the SS-lugged Classic Buckle clashes with the Graphite SS. Might probably be a pass from me and assuming I keep the Graphite, I would probably need to look into selling the Classic Buckles. Important note/warning for anyone switching from SS to G and you have an SS lugged band or two. I do want to dress up the Graphite in something classy and as such can’t wait for the Leather Link! I think both the Black and California Poppy will look good with it :)

No pics just yet, but have also tried Graphite with the following and for me it’s a tick of “approval”, in terms of looking good:

-Pine Green Sport Band
-Canary Yellow Sport Band
-Canary Yellow Sport Loop
-Mist Blue Sport Band
-Cape Cod Sport Loop
-Pride Edition Sport Loop
