Just opened my Series 6 blue Alu with Deep Navy sports band and what do you know? The sports band doesn’t even fit into the watch it comes with. Same band doesn’t fit into any of my other Apple Watches either.

Now I’m stuck deciding whether to try and exchange the band or just returning the whole watch. I love the color but can’t justify keeping it as it’s not as striking as I had hoped and I do have both a Series 4 and 5.

Okay returning the watch. Might try getting either the red or the blue some months later, hopefully they got the fit issue sort out by then. It will definitely be a bad experience for someone buying his/her first Apple Watch, when they can’t slot the bands into their brand new watch.

You’ll think Apple be better than to make a mistake with QC. I ran into this once long ago with the first batch of the woven nylon, but never on a sport band.

I sat myself down for a bit of a talk this afternoon. After a frank exchange of views, I agreed that I would limit my Sport Band collection to retail bands only - nothing that is exclusive to a particular watch, unless I own the watch.

I thought I had done well to reach such a sensible accord with myself...

You’re not in the club until you get a watch you barely need just to get a band. See: replacing my hand-me-down series 4 sss with an equally scratched Hermes s4. Granted I did give the vanilla sss back to my bf for sleep-tracking...

So as @mikedop, @athousandbands, @toxtrepla and @Martinpa know I've been away from the forums for a bit as I've been recovering from a slew of new injuries after being hit by a 14 year on a moped about two weeks ago on September 5th. This is just not my year. But for my fellow MOTs, Shana tovah! Hopefully 5781 brings us only good things!

I sent my best attempts already, but for anyone else curious here are some shots. I didn't handle the blue or red aluminums myself and didn't take off my ceramic for the shots, so @mikedop gave me a 1/5 rating when I sent him the pics over iMessage:

the cost of the Solo Sport Band is a smartass move: no stainless steel pin, no holes, no double size S/M and M/L, but same price as the Sport Band. Plus: it loosens over time!
The Solo Loop cost as much as the Milanese Loop!
I don't see how they're gonna be a hit...and yet, I expect nothing less 😆

@Pitch has convinced me to give them a try. I mean, I agree with everyone saying they're cheap rubber, not worth collecting, and hold next to no resell value, but I wouldn't mind picking one up off Mercari or eBay down the road for $15 just to try it out. Let's hope someone out there has my size and decides they don't love them.

Oh ****, iJustine has the solo loop and like her, I got a 4/5 on the measuring tool. But she found sizes 2/3 to be perfect fit so I might have to end up exchanging my band for a smaller one 😅

Need a bit of Solo Loop sizing help: I tried the printable tool, it puts me just into a size 7, but I can pull it quite taut and get it to a 6. I prefer my watch snug, so I presume this is the one to go for? For context, I wear a S/M 44mm Sport Band on the 3rd to last hole (i.e. 3rd from the loosest setting).

If anyone wears the same Sport Band size and has a Solo Loop/Braided Solo Loop, would be really interested in the size you picked!

I would go one to two sizes smaller on the solo and braided solo loops. I was a 6 when measuring at home and a 5-6 in the store but when I tried both on they were too big for my taste, so I went with a 4 and if a 3 came in 44mm I would have even done that for the braided (the solo loops run a bit tighter). Also @Cotypubby, I'm also (back) in NYC and was able to walk into Apple Stores twice this weekend without a reservation. Both times they asked if I had one and I said no and they asked what I was there for and I said to buy bands and they just let me in.

As a complete aside, I really love the braided nylons. I thought the price was a lot but I bought charcoal Friday and didn't change it for 24 hours which is unheard of for me. It's just that comfortable. Went back and tried to buy blue, green and pink today and the former two were out of stock. The Apple Store employee said the braided loops are going crazy fast, so I guess the pricing isn't deterring people. There were no demo leather links so I couldn't try one on for curiosity's sake.

Looks worse than silver lugs on a black watch to me. They are charging $100 for recycled yarn and it doesn't even go to the end of the case? This is inexcusable to me...

Charcoal and Deep Navy Sport Loops. Although the color matching with the Charcoal initially looked nicer to me on the wrist, the Deep Navy just stands out more and is growing on me.

THE best of the new watch bands released IMHO and both look fantastic with that watch face.

As I continue to wait, yesterday’s band from my time travel back two years to Fall ‘18.

The very-exciting second-gen stone band. A fine neutral, but doesn’t exactly get the heart rate up.
