I tried to warn you. I had that same combo as yours and it scratched my watch. Plus all the other stuff like loosening and leaving marks on my wrist I just gave up on that band. Beautiful band but just a no go for me personally. I don’t own that particular watch anymore and definitely will not be buying anymore Milanese. No Apple will not switch out your watch for scratches. If that was the case so many OCD people would be abusing that system lol
Yep you absolutely did try to warn me and I didn’t listen! 😄😭

I am thinking I may just live with it. I bought this watch used and it actually came with a SB ML, which I sold without putting it on the watch due to the scratch risk. But, when I had a closer look after my incident this morning, I noticed there are micro scratches on the top of my watch too. I wear my watch on my right wrist so the top of my watch is the bottom of the watch for most people. I’m guessing the previous owner also had some “close encounters” between the ML and the watch. Thing is, I have had the watch for 6 months and literally never noticed them until today. If these scratches are that slight that I completely missed them when I first bought and inspected the watch, then they’re probably not enough of a big deal for me to stop wearing the ML if I like the look. After all, my past two AWs were the regular SS and I tolerated way worse scratches on those.

That’s the way I’m leaning anyway. Still have a week to decide to return the band. I just wish it wasn’t so dang good looking!

Right but think about if there’s more mistakes to be made from that ML there will be more and more scratches on the watch from it. If you stop now those scratches you currently have will be it but if you continue there could potentially be more lol. You said you tolerated more scratches on the regular SS but what’s nice about regular SS is that it can get buffed out and look like new again, once space black is scratched that’s it, there’s no fixing it! Lol just giving you my 2 cents.

Welp, you all tried to warn me about the SB Milanese and I didn’t listen. Wasn’t paying close enough attention while attaching the band this morning and a small part came in contact with the side of the watch and the screen. Luckily no scratches to the sapphire but it did leave a few small micro scratches in the SB coating on the watch near the bottom band connector. The scratches are really small and only noticeable if you are in the exact right light and really looking for them. But, they’re there 😕

Now I have to decide if I am going to live with the risk or return the band. I wish I hadn’t fallen so in love with it. The ML is easily the best combination of style and comfort of any band I have ever had and I hate to give that up. I do have AC+ on the watch. Does anyone know if Apple would allow for a damage replacement down the line if the watch got really scratched up?
I’m so sorry to hear that! The good news is it could have been way worse. As far as a damage replacement under AppleCare+ they technically don’t allow claims for wear and tear but they are famously liberal with their policy.

Not only braided loop but the solo band also shows the lug gap?!

That is correct. I’ve seen the gap in several solo loop videos. Yet more proof that these new bands are a disaster. Apple needs to dispense with them forthwith and go back full time to sport bands.

Remember the days when Band Life was simple? When everything slid in smoothly with a satisfying click and every size you needed was in the box? *sigh*

Here’s one from the old days that arrived recently. Understated, but I love the perforated stormtrooper look...

Found one brand new for $45 and traded my old one over to @athousandbands. Looks really good on Ceramic. Remind me to wear it again some time soon.

You guys know I’m a fan of all the green for my gold watch but this still feels weird as a default (h/t retail store Best Buy) I guess it means Cyprus will be the new black in terms of cheap ones floating around; or should I say glack:

The pin should of been gold. It would of made that combo awesome. I also think Obsidian/Black Nike should of had a black pin.

That looks like a 40 mm band on a 44 mm Watch.

FWIW we‘ve seen many pictures/videos with perfectly aligned Solo Loops and not one picture/video with a perfectly aligned Braided Solo Loop.
Interestingly, a pic posted here of a braided loop on a 40mm does not have the gap and fits perfectly! Maybe it is just the 44mms that have the problems.

So as @mikedop, @athousandbands, @toxtrepla and @Martinpa know I've been away from the forums for a bit as I've been recovering from a slew of new injuries after being hit by a 14 year on a moped about two weeks ago on September 5th. This is just not my year. But for my fellow MOTs, Shana tovah! Hopefully 5781 brings us only good things!

I sent my best attempts already, but for anyone else curious here are some shots. I didn't handle the blue or red aluminums myself and didn't take off my ceramic for the shots, so @mikedop gave me a 1/5 rating when I sent him the pics over iMessage:

As I told @mikedop, I love how soft and the light solo loops are, but this is a good point in terms of pricing and makes me think Apple is aiming to increase their profit margins even further on these new bands.

I would go one to two sizes smaller on the solo and braided solo loops. I was a 6 when measuring at home and a 5-6 in the store but when I tried both on they were too big for my taste, so I went with a 4 and if a 3 came in 44mm I would have even done that for the braided (the solo loops run a bit tighter). Also @Cotypubby, I'm also (back) in NYC and was able to walk into Apple Stores twice this weekend without a reservation. Both times they asked if I had one and I said no and they asked what I was there for and I said to buy bands and they just let me in.

As a complete aside, I really love the braided nylons. I thought the price was a lot but I bought charcoal Friday and didn't change it for 24 hours which is unheard of for me. It's just that comfortable. Went back and tried to buy blue, green and pink today and the former two were out of stock. The Apple Store employee said the braided loops are going crazy fast, so I guess the pricing isn't deterring people. There were no demo leather links so I couldn't try one on for curiosity's sake.

Dude, I think you need to stay inside until 2020 exits the planet.... Hit by a kid on a moped? WOW....

I mean, how can you buy watch bands if you're in the hospital? Welllllllll..... I guess you could purchase with an iPhone while you are laid up..... 🤕

Apple store Boca Raton report...

hoped to pick up a Nike S6, out of stock for my 44mm but they had 40mm :(

no Leather Link floor models to see @mikedop

Braided & reg solo loop are comfy! They were all out of the middle numbers.

- I'm apparently a size 8. I measured my wrist last week & it was 7 inches. I thought the chart said I was around there but forget? I use pin 4 on M/L 44mm usually. Or pin 3 (looser, when I want it loose).

- the Braided loop doesn't look great around the connectors but I think some of the pics are of 40mm braided solo loops on 44mm watches. the employee didn't seem to be too knowledgable about bands and was handing me wrong size stuff at first.

- the Apple employee didn't know there was a size guide online. she also didn't know the size numbers were on the band. on the solo loops they're on the back. on the braided they're on the lugs with the 40/44mm markings.

- I asked if the braided loops will get looser over time & she said no, if anything they'll get tighter??

- the new floor/demo model Obsidian Mist had a lot of trouble fitting into my watch. Even more trouble extricating it, to the point I almost gave up. No issues with Spruce Aura.

What could this be? Fog? I bough it for USD $13, and I’m still waiting for it to arrive. Seller says it’s not white but a light shade of gray.

S6 with Purple Pulse sport loop. Definitely looks more blue to me, but still a nice band! (Picture taken in bathroom; it’s the only room that doesn’t have a very warm cast to the light).

Most likely Fog. It was pretty common back in the day - the default band of silver Alu pre-studio, for NZ at least, I think on the S3 when I bought it.

Liking that white CB more than I would have expected, especially on white ceramic
