But of course none of this is relevant if you have a shot of the inside pin strap. It’s also difficult to make out, and I can sometimes guess wrong.

Awesome, thanks. That last pic makes it as clear as it’s possible to do I think, and as someone said above, that’s what this thread is really all about.

I’m in a very similar situation - all SB, NSB and Nylon covered between my Wife and I. I’m thinking of getting all the S3 variants, mainly so I can justify the Grey/Black band in my collection.

Also, just to have an SS and SBSS for not too much cash, but still supported for a few more WatchOS versions. Finding the ceramic grey is going to be a toughie though.

Titanium doesn’t really do it for me, but I should have a GSS S6 turn up at some point when my carrier gets the stock in that they claimed to have on launch day....

UNRELATED - @FenC Did the mods redact the name of your Prime Minister?

Yeah, it never even occurred to me as it was just a throwaway comment. Fair enough, rules is rules, and I have no desire to discuss politics on the internet, so the edit was justified and for the better.

I really want a ceramic S5 as I’d like to be able to wear it in rotation with the other 2 S5s I have. Like you I’m not too fussed for the Ti finishes, and my tongue in cheek “rule” really only relates to the S3 ceramics. The surprising (to me anyway) decision to keep the S3 alive for another year means they should be supported through to OS9 or 10 now.

I have nothing against titanium as I’m a relatively big user of the stuff with an amount of it in my back and one arm, and my wedding ring is titanium as a nod to that. I actually like the slightly off silver tone it has a lot, and I’d probably really like the natural TI Watch if I saw it. I’m less convinced by the black Ti version. I just don’t have any strong desire to have it.

I very nearly went for the S6 Graphite with Milanese and could have had it on Tuesday from a local official reseller, but I’m genuinely meh about the S6 upgrades. 5GHz WiFi is the most interesting to me, but unless someone confirms it supports Enterprise (certificate based) security it still wouldn’t work for me.

I’m unsure about getting into collecting the nylons. I have a few as does my wife; Bandbreite’s app tell me we have 10 between us, and we also both have CNY. I really don’t want to fall into the money pit of the Olympic set (do you have those?), but I’ll carry on picking the regular ones up if a new one pops up locally for little money.

Similarly I’m not into loops with only three that happened to come in a multi band purchase and I’m not going to be suckered into the Olympic 2020 set that I expect is about to come to light.

Cannot get over how good the braid weave looks twisting over the side of the wrist. I love this thing so much I can overlook the crazy gap issue, which is quite noticeable on the ceramic of course, especially that it leaves silver skid marks. Pacific Green makes quite the nice slant watch face color pair when you don’t go straightforward and match it to ocean or surf.

Today’s band — my first adventure in solo looping, with Ginger.

So I only ordered one solo because I feared the size would be off. It arrived Friday morning, and sure enough, the Apple sizing tool’s estimation of a 9 for me (by my reading) was too big.

I started to arrange a return in the app, but to my surprise it suggested I take it in to a store. I wasn’t sure they were handling returns in-store in this day and age. So I hopped in my car and for the first time since.... sometime before last Christmas, I think.... I went to a mall, made the 30-minute trek to my local Apple Store.

There was a bit of a line to get in, but things were pretty well organized, with separate lines for pickups, returns, and “just going in to shop.” The return line wasn’t very long, so I got taken care of pretty quickly. I asked if it was possible to go inside to try one one, so I know what size I really am. And the guy serving me offered to bring out a loop for me to try. He measured my wrist, and suggested “8... maybe 7.”

I said the 9 was pretty loose, so if I’m only trying one, I‘d like to try 7. So he washed a white 7 and brought it out to me. I tried it on, and it was just about perfect — nice and snug, and the watch doesn’t go anywhere once it’s on, but not exactly tight either.

So I ask if they have any 7s in stock. He starts to list a couple of options and I tell him I’ll take all of them.

I think at first he mistook what I was saying, and I thought I was asking him to decide for me. So I clarify, and soon enough, they bring up a white, a ginger, and to my surprise a Charcoal braided in my size.

Anyway... onto the actual loop. I think I’m a convert. Will I give up sport bands or loops? No. But while I was skeptical of the solo initially, I have to say it is the most comfortable band I’ve tried as yet. So far I’ve worked out with it (ran a few km) and just done the daily routine, and I’m pretty happy with it. Gotta charge up the watch and I’ll wear it to bed tonight to see how it does as an overnight band.

For the last few years, I’ve always worn sport loops on days when I have flights. I can easily see either a solo or a braided solo becoming my go-to for flight days because of the comfort. Assuming I’m ever able to fly again, that is.

Looking forward to test-driving the braided tomorrow.

I bet Apple drops all these solo loops in the next cycle (Spring). Too many sizing hassles for them. If you like them, get them while you can.
Yeah I don’t know, it would definitely be interesting to see what happens. I’m thinking they might release new colors but simplify the sizing.

How could they simplify the sizing without making them ill-fitting for a chunk of people?

As a fellow Team7 member, if you don’t love the charcoal, send it on down this way!

I don't think that's likely personally. I wonder if the returns are allowed for in the "hard to justify even for Apple" pricing though - I mean they throw the returned ones away I expect.

Very nice! You'll fit in well here if you choose to stick around. Welcome!

Today I went to the Hermes store in my city, and i found out that they have even more styles of Apple Watch bands that are not on the web page of apple, and not even in theirs. More colors of the current styles and for both 44 and 40mm.
I finally got my Etoupe. here a few pictures.
Regards.
