Ruby Red or Rouge Piment? 🤔

Big band delivery for me today! My leather loops from the recent Best Buy sale showed up several days early and got a Cosmos Blue classic buckle from Chargerstore.

Question for the community about the classic buckle: how much will it affect resale if I open the box but don’t wear the band? I was planning to convert it to space black hardware. But after my debacle yesterday, that is a no go. I’d like to look at the color of Cosmos in person as I am thinking of looking for the leather loop version.

Open box but never used will take about $10-20 off resell value. I don’t know why people get that picky. The band is in the same condition either way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cloudy day here so not much chance for good pictures of the Forest Green and Midnight Blue leather loops I picked up from the Best Buy sale. Both colors are nice but maybe a bit muted for the space black watch. They look a bit more vibrant in these pictures than they do in person. I think Bright Blue probably looks better than Midnight Blue with the SB watch as it gives a bit more contrast.

@jl.blass614 asked for my thoughts on the band over in the Discounts thread since I had never owned a leather loop before. But that isn’t really the right place for them. So, I’ll put them here. I like the look of the band more than I thought I would having only seen it in pictures. I like that the loop is made near the underside of the wrist rather than right up against the watch like the Milanese loop. That gives the watch much more of a sense of symmetry as you look at it. The band is comfortable to wear. But it definitely feels like a thin layer of leather glued onto plastic pills with magnets in them (which is not surprising because I’m pretty sure that’s what it is). It definitely does not feel as premium as the Classic Buckles to me. I also have noticed the magnets creaking as others have described. Not sure if that will annoy me yet. I do agree with the speculation here that, if the leather links are indeed softer than the leather loop and prove popular, the loop will be discontinued by this time next year.

Bottom line, a nice band that is better looking than I gave it credit for. But, not one of my favorites. Not sure I like either color enough to keep them. Still might look for a Cosmos Blue loop but that’s mainly because I really like the color and the loop is the only way to get it since the Classic Buckle is a no-go with my SB watch.

Forest green on black is the only pair that really makes me wish my sbss was 44mm. So choice, even though yes the band is very muted. Can’t wait to photo it on the graphite.

Yoinked this a couple days ago for $16.40, new open box. The listing just says 42mm Blue, no photo of the box or label. Any idea what actual color? Or is it really just blue? 🤷🏼‍♀️

My money's on second gen. Lugs and printing text contrast from the band color quite a lot, more so than my G1 appears to. The lugs also seem to be a teal color, combined with the light color of the blue, I'm guessing G2.

Should be here Monday or Tuesday, so I’ll post what it actually is. Couldn’t pass up the price, so I’ll definitely keep it either way.

Here are the two next to each other so you can get a better educated guess. In my eyes, it’s a definite G2.

I like the one on the right better, so I’m crossing my fingers for that one!

That's the second generation blue, which is the color I believe your purchase is. Good luck!

I also thought Blue G2 fro, the pic rather than G1, but I think both are more vibrant IRL than your comparison photo makes it look.

I’ve had G1 since launch and only got G2 a few months ago, but I still wear the original far more often as to my eye G1 is the better shade.

Oh for sure. My lighting is terrible. I wanted to invest over time in like a sort of studio setup then i realized thats a bit overkill for some forum pics.

The photo gets my point across though- the color matches to G2 more than G1.

Awesome feedback! I think that forest green looks awesome, I actually like it with the SBSS. I’m definitely looking forward to receiving mine and seeing how it pairs up with silver SS.

Just “yoinked” a Vitamin C 40mm Sport Band on Posh for $20. S/M only, no box, but looks legit. Fingers crossed!
I got my cheap one a few weeks ago and somehow the S/M was a drastically different tone than the pin band and the M/L...still soft to the touch and nice-looking though. Perhaps it got too much vitamin D while the person’s hand was stationary and turned. Needless to say it’s gone to live with the M/Ls in a dark box.
