Holiday Season at the Apple Store near you: One of the last Apple Watch|Sport Avenues —here at an Apple Store in China— received an update today with some of the newer colors. 118 Sportbands on total.

Would you like to organize and store your collection this way? 😬

I would absolutely love to have one of these store displays on my wall.

If anyone knows a guy who knows a guy, please reach out.

Okay maybe im a bit bias because my experience with solo loops lasted all of 10 seconds at the Apple Store, but I still don't think they're for me. I'm waiting for one to sell for like $20 on eBay once all the size hoarding calms down and above retail listings aren't selling anymore and people realize they're not worth over retail.
I just waited out a desperate Mercarian and got white silicon for $18.50 plus tax. My first duplicate woo but I figured if any color was worth getting twice, it was one for my white ceramic. Also now I have so much room for new bands!

Scored 2 open boxes for half the retail price: Surf sport band (which I'm lusting after ever since it was released) and the classic Sand Pink sport band (not sure how it will look on my silver AL case, thou. Do you guys have any picture of this combo?).

Hopefully they're really just "new, open box" and I won't need to return them.

Wow... Ceramic really looks like it‘s in its own different world of Apple Watch in terms of appearance compared to the other materials. Is the actual body thicker or something?

It's not thicker, but it is a little wider and the edge against the display has a bit of a lip compared to the other models, as it would be too thin and brittle otherwise.

But it's soooo good. I really need to pull my s2 out again, the ceramic is such a treat.

Ah, I have a 16" MBP - I'm glued to it 8 hours a day for work. I have to say, I love it. Was a refurb i9 with 32GB, so I'm wondering if the refurb process ironed out all the kinks. I rely on Parallels for MS Visio etc, so will have to stick to Intel for a while.

The Mini has blown me away - replaced a 2015 5k iMac and absolutely toasts it performance-wise. Just need to get a 4k monitor for it now, for enhanced browsing of watch bands.

My wife's MBA will probably get switched for an M1 model in the new year. It's the future.
This is off topic, so by all means ignore:

I've had a mini on my desk since the Late 2012 Server model with 2 spinning disks (though it had a fusion setup for most of its time with me). The M1 blows away my 2018 base model with 32GB, however, and I'm in agreement with the 9to5Mac article that suggests 8GB is plenty for most non-power users with the M1. I'm not sure whether to sell it or one / both of the late 2012s I still have running server functions. It's on a single 4k monitor, but I'm very tempted to upgrade to something like a 49" Dell - possibly the next generation when it arrives.

I use my 16" MBP all day at work also, and I used to rely on Parallels a lot for MS Project, but I find I'm hardly using it anymore and can do without I think. I haven't shared a Project file for ages so I could switch to a different tool that runs on the Mac for anything I'm managing myself - it's not that I like Project, but I couldn't risk corrupting someone else's file by using an app that is "compatible". There is one hideous old tool I need to use that only runs in a Firefox (or IE) browser that doesn't allow uploads from the Apple file system, but I can always log into the Windows 10 thing that sits on my desk doing nothing all the time for that. Read only works fine in the Mac. Anyway, I'm writing this on an M1 MBP that I'll be trialling as my main work computer from Tuesday when I next work from home so have easy access to both.

My 16" MBP is the first Mac I've ever not liked. Even running a Zwift ride of less than two hours it'll drop from 100% to ~93% battery while on the power supply that shipped with it, and Zwift isn't as intensive as a lot of games. It also has a lovely propensity to run its fans during Teams calls, which of course means I need to switch to headphones, and if I'm at home working alone I'd prefer not to bother with them.

Me too! I'm now wondering if it's realistic (given my general lack of talent for anything remotely artistic) to come up with something like that.

I need for 40mm tho :(
I still wouldn't pay $65 for a Nectarine in that size. They're not all that rare.

Unrelated (sort of): How hard are Camelia sport bands to come by? I just managed to grab one in 42mm and one in 38mm this week and I've never seen them listed before. I think the color fits in nicely between Rose Red and Red.

Loving P(Red) Gen 4...wasn’t planning to buy any sport bands over their solo loop counterparts but had $10 MercariBux expiring and no 44mm Red Sport Bands to speak of in my watchtower. Plus of course the pin matches. It’s like Red Raspberry with the pink taken out.

Gimme the 44mm! It’s a pretty hard to find color. I’ve had a local listing saved for a while but haven’t asked the seller if they’d ship it.

Doesn't look too impossible. Half inch plywood or MDF with a pattern on it that you want to create. Use this strapping to make the band holders, which you can easily place a few screws into scrap wood to make a bending jig to make them all uniform.

I think the most irritating part would be to cut the slits for each band uniformly. Tbh if I were to do this, I'd draw up my plans in photoshop with the band slits, and send it to a CNC shop in town. Plenty of places will laser cut wood if you send them the file. Then once I had that, make the band holders out of the strapping, put it all together and done.

An APR over here has some demo sport bands on sale for €19 in black. The modelno. is 3E047ZM/A. Is that the 1st or 2nd generation black? Anyone?

Lurking on this thread has been helpful for buying a new band. Many thanks for your band enthusiasm! As pink citrus doesn’t exist in the current sport loops, I am aiming for a close enough colour.

It seems like nectarine is the way to go. Is there any other good candidate? It looks like only hibiscus may come close too?

I'm not sure if you're looking for more of the pinkish tint, but don't underestimate Kumquat. It's become one of my favorite sport loops, and blends extremely well with gold and rose gold.

I was gifted a plum solo loop today, I’ve have seen them in store and they appeared to be very stretchy. However the one I have received today has virtually no stretch in it all, has anybody else noticed this with the Plum Solo Loop?

Thanks, but yes, defo aiming to stay on the pinker side.

Although along with a fun name that is a great colour.

I’ve got a space grey watch so any of these colours really will pop compared to my original band (which had black lugs and verged darker).

What size is it? I’d imagine the smaller sizes have less stretch than the larger ones.

Ummm it’s size 1, yep I have the tiniest wrists lol. It fits fine on the wrist but almost near impossible to get over the hand with no stretch - even with small wrists you need it to have some stretch to get over the hand. It has almost the same pull/give as the traditional sport band.
